  • erhgk!! i felt seick from watching that video!!!!! n i was gna giv blood last week!! :S good thing i didn't hav ma consent form with me after all!! Especcially when the blood needle went in, cos it went in soo far! :'( It also reminded me of period blood a bit, when the blood was going in the bag!! :$ which didn't exactly help ma queeziness!! :X

  • Why do so many places infuse lidocaine first? Why would you want two needle sticks?

  • i just had a blood donation today,, it felt great and i'm only 17 =)

it took from 3-4 minutes for my blood to fill the bag, the nurses said that my blood was the fastest =)

  • ive never donated blood before, and im going to in a couple weeks at our schools blood bank, im terrified of needles but to me, a second of pain is worth saving a life, i hope i dont pass out or anything, but i feel that donating blood is a duty rather than an option, any advice for anxiety?

  • The only pain you feel is the injection of anaesthesia, and its just slight pain only. after the injection the area will be numb and you won't feel any pain at all, you may reduce your anxiety by diverting your attention somewhere else such as reading a book or closing your eyes, listen to music and let the nurse work on your vein. Have faith in them, they done the same thing many times a day, they are efficient and professional and will minimise the pain

  • I was a bit nervous my first time aswell. What helped me was getting prepared before the donation. So drinking lots of water and eating well beforehand. This made me feel much less nervous about passing out or anything like that. Listening to music really does help. I found actually searching through your music to choose a song helps as you have to think about it and it takes ur mind off giving blood. Also when donating keep moving your fingers and clenching a fist. Makes it go a lot faster.

  • I enjoy giving blood, so I will keep doing it whenever I can until I get sick of it.

  • It didn't hurt a lot, but it feel super numb when the needle stays in your arm for like 10 minutes.

  • thats one fat fucking needle man

  • I have donated blood today. It didn't take long for the blood to fill up the bag.

  • when they first stick the random needle in and take it out, their taking a blood test to see what your blood type is first

  • Oh yeah.

  • I think I may be donating soon per a bet I lost, and this will be my first time adn i HATE NEEDLES! I hope that they will give me an anasetic or else hit me over the head!

  • what is the stuff that they injected into your vein at the beginning? And what is the purpose. When I donated blood I did not have anything injected.

  • Its an Anaesthesia used to numb my arm to prevent feeling pain before the huge needle is inserted.

  • lol i didnt no that. no 1 used it wen i was donating, plus it didnt hurt much.

  • yep, i don't have anastheasia too. It dint' hurt so much.

  • lol

  • ur right naoo222

    >it depends on ur vein how long will it takes...

  • hey i donated blood today she said that it would take 10-15 minute but it took more than 25 minutes. she said that since i have small veins it took longer.

  • J'aimerai bien voire votre Coeur qui pompe votre sang en mouvement...

  • gud job!! and thx for donating!!!

  • That was a great nurse - she did a great stick! You have healthy veins too. Thanks for donating.
