It's funny how the Thais try to make their "Muay-Thai" look so good and giving names to all these different moves. The fact is that those moves are impractical and are never used in real fights--you think I'm full of shit? Click on one of the real fight clips and I guarantee that you won't find any of those moves there.

@8x56mmrrr How is this? I've personally used a number of these techniques in sparring and they have scored me points. Though the rules are different as I practice Taekwondo. I've used push kick/front kick, round kick to front leg side kick, spinning hook kick, round kick to head, ax kick etc. I see many of these moves being effective in a real life situation but not in the ring as much of the standing grappling and strikes are capable of causing much damage with the right warrior behind them.

@8x56mmrrr thats nonsense , if you watch plenty of real muay thai fights and you will see lots of these moves used or moves that are very similar , they are from the old muay boran style that was used during battles so i think they are pretty practical in real life situations ,

Muay ^Thai is simple, all i see, is ^ Knees n Round House kick w shin power, you kick, you knee, and your opponent response on the same way, if he has more power, he wins....powerfull but, poor technique, a martial artist focus on more technique than power, w techniques you can achieve your opponent´s vital points easily, like EYES,GROIN,throat....etc, and these points no powerfull needed to hit.

Muay Thai is different because they try to destroy the opponent, trying to cause as much pain as possible, not just friendly sparing, so they condition to take hits as well as land them, and when you spar with them you usually end up bruised. Muay Thai has not light sparing.

well, in striking, boxing focus's 100% on punching, but, muay thai focus's probably 25% punching, 25% kicking, 25% elbow, 25% knee, so, in a fight, it all depends on who trains more, but if they both trained the same, I would go for muay thai, because in muay thai you are trained to block punches, which is what you learn in boxing, but in boxing, you are not trained to block kicks, knees, elbows, etc.

Any style is good, it only depends on the fighter and how much he or she trains, and how much they are will to dedicate to it. Muay Thai is great and leave the fighter with the most room to be creative, more free form.
