  • Man this is amazing.

  • fantastic

  • Bravo!!!

  • best interpretation.

  • 5:50 WOW!

  • Борис Вадимович сложнейшие пассажи исполняет с такой лёгкостью и с таким выражением озираясь по сторонам, что кажется, что он хочет сказать: "Господа, где же мой коньяк?.."

  • NO ME CANSO NUNCA DE ESCUCHAR ESTA PIEZA

  • kiváló művész,neki is lehet rossz napja

  • You know, every time I hear this concerto, I hear it as something even more beautiful and moving than the last time. Rachmaninov is definitely one of the top 3 composers. I'm certain of that now. He's for sure alot better than Mozart and Beethoven. The reason why he hasn't gotten the credit he is due is that he's Slavic and not Germanic in his origin. I'll be frank: there's a huge pro-German, anti-everyone-else bias in classical music nowadays. And it needs to end.

  • @KhagarBalugrak Franz Liszt wasn't German. In 100 years or so Rachmaninov will have the prestigious equivalence of Beethoven and Mozart, It has nothing to do with Nationality.

  • @RhaegarTargaryen1884, Liszt has never made the Top 10 with any critic or institution I've ever seen. Probably Hungarian schools would be the only institutions to elevate him into the Top 10. Rachmaninov of course doesn't even make the Top 30 in many lists I've seen. At the college I was at - Mannes - German and Austrian music is considered to be thousands of times better than that of any other nationality. And I don't think things are any different elsewhere. But I hope you're right.

  • @KhagarBalugrak He is on my top 10 list and I'm sure I don't stand alone on that. Believe it or not, people are not so easily influenced by lists that critics make.

  • @RhaegarTargaryen1884, well I'm glad to hear that.

  • Goosebumps everytime I listen to this... ALWAYS.

  • Magnifique interprétation !!!

  • Natürlichkeit = Ökonomie

  • I love this concerto. Excellent performance.

  • cold as ice. don't like at all

  • @frenkgsi I agree, I haven't connected to a single performance from this pianist.

  • It takes a Russian to truly play Russian music...

  • i bet that piano costs more than my car

  • @doomless198 It does.

  • For me, the best Rach 2 !

  • imho this doesn't even deliver a 10th of the tension the Karajan/Weissenberg interpretation provides. If you ask me, he really makes it sound easy. He even makes it sound as if he was planning his vacation while playing it.

  • @Stivanification hahahahah lovely metaphor

  • One of the greatest!!!! I love Berezovsky!! Beautiful at 3:00 the cellist!

  • from the left he looks like messi

  • At 02:43 he is going faster than usual. That's a pity, since his interpretation was more than correct.

If you allow a personal opinion, I'd say that Kissin's version is better.

  • I've been to one concert. and I'm going again this year.I love the way he plays, He is very tall, and does'nt seem to worry about his success.( I'm French and doesn't live in Paris.

  • anyone knows how tall Berezovsky is?...he looks huge

  • @belialah I think he could be like me...6.3(192 cm), because i think that i look like him sitting on the piano.

  • @belialah He is very tall . I have been to his concert , and again this year, I love him.

  • Obey

  • There are 5 unlikes!

Are they people deaf, or jealous, or both ??? !

  • @Maja90LOVEBerezovsky no, they were looking for Clayderman.

  • @Maja90LOVEBerezovsky

nope, just the same 5 people that go to every video and unlike it. sad, isn't it?

  • @Maja90LOVEBerezovsky might be because they've heard Ashkenazy's version

  • I adore the whole first movement! Very moving and sensual! Great!

  • I am so happy that Boris proves that you can have an incredible tone and not look like Lang Lang and that stuff he does with his face is so unattractive. This guy Boris must never leave the piano 8 hours a day no doubt.

  • @loveyourgirlblue lol, hes my favorite pianist, and u know something, hes so different than any other pianist...He likes playing poker, so u can imagine how relaxed he should be.....i read once that for instance, the version of the Tchaikovski Piano Concerto that he admire is the Solomo´s,, he said that Richter and Argerich´s version did not like at all....lol

  • @belialah thanks I have to agree with you and yes playing poker may help LOL.

  • de tres mauvais gout! chopin and no one need such a caricature!

  • Nous venons d'entendre ces mêmes interprètes à La Roque d'Anthéron, c'est magistral! Berezovsky est un monument !

  • He plays very beautiful piano....looooove his interpretation of Liszt transcendental etude N0. 4

  • any idea where i can buy this DVD? I'm fairly sure there was one made

  • dark passion

  • A rock in the storm... how quiet and easy he seems ^^

  • Somehow Most of berezovsky video has a special tone i wonder if its just the piano or he has the ability to make this special tune

  • it's Boris. he makes a sound like none else.

  • The power of it is amazing

  • A little too fast for my taste. But nicely played.

  • These same fantastic artists played that concerto at Grenoble last friday... We spent an unforgettable evening!

  • I am speechless - excellent work on this beautiful piece. You got out of it what Rachmaninoff intended. Thanks!

  • beautiful !

    1.000.000 of star

    Serena

  • Great performance!!!!!

  • info 51 ,you are quite

    right . I meant too!

  • A very affecting rendition, musically and visually.

He's all in and it shows. Bravo!

  • For me,best, enchanting Rach 2 I ever heard !:D

  • at 05:46-05:48 he plays bars from orchestra part ^^

  • =))

  • I like better Zimmerman, I think this one is too fast, isn't it?

  • he is like a block, he never moves his body whilst he plays

  • Yep, just like Horowitz.

  • "Whilst"? Are you Shakespeare or something?

  • i think it can be a bit slower....it just like rushing to the end....the piece of work is a long time work .....composer use tens of years to write this piece and the expression is not like that...from hopeless to in hope and victory....it's a touching story...anyway i think its a bit faster then usual..

  • it took about half a year to compose

  • wt i mean is full effort infact

  • listen rachmaninoff himself how he plays it. I think berezovsky plays it little bit slower than it should be. Anyway I love this performance

  • If you are slow it doesn't mean everybody must be like you.

  • maybe u can listen to karajan version so u may know wt i mean=]

  • I saw Berezovsky in 1997 in The Hague performing Rachmaninov's 3rd piano concerto. He played really badly then and I kind of decided never to listen to him again.

Now I'm not sure whether it was him or the piano, because this is very good. If you like this piece also try to find Richter's version and the one by Jorge Bolet (the latter is my favourite).

  • I forgot the conductor's name

  • The Conductor is Dmitry Liss

  • I love the bit starting at 8:58. It's like a ghost brushing past your shoulder. Brief and subtle but so very effective.

  • I wish the piano was louder at parts, it was hard to hear...

  • amazing performance, i only wish the tempo were a LITTLE quicker, seems to lose its momentum a bit at 6:20

  • Anyone else think Boris looks a lot like Graham Chapman? :D

  • lol, it's true, never noticed that :)

  • hahah you're right, they're identical

  • @mountainmanchuck Wow, cannot be unseen.

  • All these incredible moments in the writing for the piano and we don't get to see it or what the pianist is doing at those points because the camera man is focussing on cellos and violas lol!?! Other than that I thought it was a wonderful performance - he makes it look so easy!

  • great and handsome Boris! I love him too much!

  • This is so easy for him. At times he looked like he was typing on his laptop. I like his style.

  • Yeah, I love that he does not "complement" his beautiful, soulful music by exaggerated movements. (...like some other pianists do)

  • my favorite performance among all i've heard.

  • Great and sweet Boris :D

  • The way he plays, it's just so natural, he doesn't look strained in the slightest, at all.

  • Wow. Awesome version.

  • X flybynow

    ;D :D :D :D ;D ;D :D

Anyway, try to compare Kissin with Berezosky

    is very very difficut

    Without hope!

  • Please, please, PLEASE, whoever pulled these videos the first time, leave them up now. It only builds Berezovsky's legend.

  • From 6:12 to 7:10

    LOL !! :D

  • I'm lost. Why LOL ?

  • Is there music more

    splendid then this?

    Then, Berezovsky is so

    a romantic interpreter!:D

    Beautiful,beautiful man.

  • Berezovsky has the great capacity

to sound easy a difficult compositeur

    like Rachmaninov

and ,in the same time, to show us his

    russian soul

  • @scheggiasms , yes!!, sounds like if were something so easy to play!!

  • Thanks for posting these videos back :)
