All of Japanese weapons and arsenals used on land during WW2 were pieces of garbage. The main reason Japan could dominate Asia was because military forces of other Asian countries were no match to Japan's long- and well-prepared military forces in numbers, readiness and integrated structure.

The biggest advantages Japan had over the Britain and the US forces were Japan's naval and air forces which were superior early in the war in numbers, tactics and strategies. The short-lived advantages.....

@Ninety9Soulz Yes they make wepons but i wouldnt say the best. the uzi is ok the galil is a modified ak47 that shoots 5.56 wich is not a good round for that rifle. the tavor is to me a crappy gun come on a 5.56 rifle thats only effective up to 300 meters. and the desert eagle is nice but not great.

@Ninety9Soulz the Galil is ok yes it has the relaibility of the ak action. unfortunaly the aks performance sucks in the sand. the barrel of a galil is only 19 inches long the 5.56mm round works at its best out of a 22inch barrel. the idea of the weapons grate but in reality its decent at best.

@Ninety9Soulz huh realy the ones iv shot had 19 inch barrels.. i do agree the m4 has to short a barrel. point is a 5.56 round is not a good round for a carbine. also a ak is not the most accurate rifle and the 5.56 needs more percision not a good round for the ak package. the only reason the isralies put it in that caliber is because of nato giveing them ammo.

That's the Type 96 Nambu; they aimed the same way as on the British, Czech, and Canadian Bren LMGs. The sights were offset to the side of the magazine.

Japanese guns work fine. I own three Arisaka rifles ( two 38's and a 99) and the build quality is quite good. The action is really tough. Where you started seeing some real substandard guns was at the end of the war when they started producing last ditch rifles. Germany did the same thing and some of the guns they produced toward the end of the war are considered unsafe to fire.

It can happen to just about any gun. I have had jams in everything from a 1860 Henry to an AR15. Well, my old Ruger Mini-14 has yet to jam, but I'm sure it will some day. My Arisaka's have no problem feeding if I load them with good ammunition. They cycle about as smooth as my Mausers. Even my 30-40 Krags will jam if I try to use certain types of bullets in my reloads. (They hate HPBT bullets). Still, you are right. Jam = Fail Gun = you probably die in battle.

@lexmark136 it is called the type 11. if i recall correctly it uses the same stripper clips that rifles use so that a rifleman could supply a machinegunner with ammunition. i presume that the stripperclips are dropped into the hopper at the left and are caught on a lip that then drags the entire stripper clip in and then it repeats. but it was complex and jammed frequently. hope i helped : D

I forget exactly how it works, but at the bottom of the hopper, there's an arm that pushes the 5 round stripper clips into the gun. How it eject the clips after every fifth round and lets the next one fall into place, I forget.
