  • Kimo - a direct descendant of the pioneering pisciculturalist William Ramsbottom just made contact - welcome on board! For the first time let's see if we can establish a link between Robert Ramsbottom (William's father) and that great Scotsman John Shaw of Drumlanrig, author of the most elegant and influential salmon breeding experiments of the 1830's. From Tasmania is there evidence of where the first salmon eggs came from - was Screebe or Corrib (Oughterard) involved?

  • Hildi, Plenty, Tasmania make contact for details of Robert Ramsbottom, William's father!

  • Thanks MGH - Good to see Cork hurlers back on the pitch but God knows I'll regret saying it. Hope all well on your stretch of the river.
