  • Nirvana didn't went pop. pop went Nirvana

  • bullshit, he wasn´t depressiv or suicidal. that´s only Courtneys words after he was dead - no friend of him or his lawyer saw him suicidal or depressiv.

  • @catinhas77 haha are you stupid? kurt cobain even says in this video that he was suicidal, and he still was when he said that. everybody who knows kurt cobain good (dave grohl, krist, his mother,...) says that he killed himself, although they also don't like courtney. believe it man, he killed himself, and he was depressive most of the time

  • Those assholes know nothing of Cobain or the band that was Nirvana. Fuck amateurs.

  • Oh okay VH1, Nirvana does not equal pop music, if anything it is the opposite. And yes lets get someone who knows the industry, the music, kurt himself.... Chris Jericho, a wwe wrestler...

    ...*sarcastic round of applause*

  • @ThatLankyAsshole I'm sure they mean pop as in popular music and Chris Jericho does know about the music, he was in a band of course.

  • @FilmsAspire I agree with the first part but as for Jericho, have you listened to his music?

  • @shockzrock Unfortunately, yes I have lol

  • Kurt is my nigga!

  • DEAD FOR THREE DAYS?!?!

  • what if his wife killd him

  • Comment removed

  • man is dead but will live among us!!!!!!!

  • !!!!!!! R.I.P Kurt, WE LOVE YOU !!!!!!

  • It's pretty obvious many of those "it's grunge, not pop!" people are people who are under 18 (which means they weren't alive when Kurt was, let alone listening to 90s music when it was current) Remember that pop music is short for POPULAR! Yeah, it's often associated with bubble gum peppy music, but bottom line, pop's POPULAR. EVERYONE listened to Nirvana! White/black/older people (my dad did too!). He redefined what could be seen as cool and popular. Trust me, I was actually there!

  • Fuck my mascara is smudging :'(

  • @TheGiddy101 This is why you must wear waterproof mascara if you watch a video with the words "Kurt Cobain" and "Death" or "suicide". Good tip.

  • @ZeldaFoxEars thnx :) I shouldv'e thought of that >.<

  • @TheGiddy101 Sad innit :/

  • @Sarcasm651 Very :(

  • @TheGiddy101 If only he was alive now and had been enjoying music, I bet he'd still be either popping out new great tunes or helping produce real great music. And music would be different today, we don't have any real rockstars now, let's be honest. :/

  • @Sarcasm651 I agree he was a great dad an awesome singer and a role model to the world but Hey, bud cheer up he left us something to remember him by his music, a part of his world :) and of course no one can replace Kurt he was one of a kind

  • @TheGiddy101 Yea, you're right. Kurt's kind come around once a generation...just like Lennon, MJ, and Elvis.

  • @shocker96 He's everywhere

  • WTF IT'S Y2J

  • Popular - Yes

    Corporate - No

  • @3N3MYify Thank you for understanding, in fact this should be top comment so all the trolls will get it.

  • @ZeldaFoxEars Thank you

  • @manhuntruler2

    oh grow up

  • Yes, keep saying lies about Kurt Cobain you assholes. He was not suicidal and he did not kill himself. It has been proven and said so, so many fucking times.

  • rest in peace you overated junkie

  • Chris Jericho?

  • i wish i was famous like kurt :/

  • "Heavier than Heaven" is filled with unsubstantiated stories, mostly gleaned from Courtney Love who was friends with author Charles Cross. She has a vested interest in persuading people Kurt commited suicide. He was about to divorce her and she had signed a prenup. She murdered him for his money.

  • @miyukitakeda925 I thought he was too, but then I read 'Heavier than Heaven' and it really changed my mind. I do think he commited suicide, of course no-one will ever know the truth but if you're thinking it was Courtney who murdered him then I really think you're wrong. She really loved him and was in L.A at the time of his death.

  • @miyukitakeda925 He tried to kill himself by overdosing on tylenol a month before he shot his brains out... He wasn't murdered dude grow up.

  • @miyukitakeda925 he just said that he was suicidal

  • @TheOGBallaz If you watch the full interveiw: Krt was being sarcastic because beore doctors prescribed him mdeication kurt suffered ffrom extreme stomch pain. And the "rome suicide attempt" was actualy just a drug overdose. P.S. There was no finger prints found on the trigger which means it must have been wiped clean. Can't really do that when you have 3x the lethal amount of heroine in your bloodstream and a shotgun shell in the brain.

  • @miyukitakeda925 not entirely true, kurt had enough heroin in his system to put down a full grown horse. so even if he wasn't shot, he would have overdosed

  • @drummerBMTH Why did someone need to shoot him?

  • @miyukitakeda925 Can't say, could have been Courtney, could have been an intruder, we'll never know. All I know is Courtney is one cold bitch if she did it and hasn't owned up to it in the 17 going on 18 years since he was killed.

  • @drummerkidkill his doctor played a role in it so it's not all Michael's fault. that's why his doctor was proven guilty.

  • im sorry.....but nirvana is not very pop.......have they listened to this band?

  • @KradianDiet Actually, Kurt and Nirvana, when making Nevermind, took the sounds of Pop music and tried to have that sort of beat and tempo, with loud guitars and heavy drums. Lithium is the biggest example.

  • @KradianDiet pop means popular. So, yeah, they are pop... Their genre is Grunge rock...

  • @KradianDiet pop= popular. they're one of the biggest bands in history so yeah, pop. they were popular

  • @ppatrickwalshh The majority of their work is not very pop though im sorry...

  • @KradianDiet they were pretty popular, yes.

  • @ppatrickwalshh thats not exactly what pop means...would you call metallica pop?

  • @KradianDiet did you know cobain liked the sound of pop and wanted to get his sound like it? i would know, because i read a bio of the band :)

  • @KradianDiet Jericho meant, Nirvana was POPular.

  • @KradianDiet actually they were very popular

  • @KradianDiet

It definitely is, look up the definition of pop music. This music was very popular back in the day and it's still very mainstream even now.

  • @ihavekankles It's grunge -____-

  • @shawty25mj

ya it's still pop music, how does it feel knowing you love pop music?

  • @ihavekankles How the fuck is that pop? pop is fucking justin bieber and coldplay. are you comparing that to this? you have to be pretty deaf to think it's remotely the same

  • @Kerbesk Pop music is music that is designed for the masses. It has no single soundset to it.

  • @ostinwitz Pop is a music genre as well. And what the guy in the top comment was referring to, is that Nirvana's music wasn't Pop in that way (as a genre). The other guy (ihaveankles) replied to shawty25mj insinuating that Grunge is Pop in some level, in which I said, that that is not true, because Grunge has a far different sound than Pop, obviously.

Plus, Nirvana, and as far as I know, the composer, didn't make songs "for the masses" or neither they "designed" them for that purpose.

  • @Kerbesk I guess I didn't look far enough into your post, but I still believe Nevermind is a "pop" album. Kurt expressed his dislike of the final mixings of the album saying that is sounded something along the lines of "too clean". So yes, he didn't design the music for the masses, but the end result was something that I believe can be described as so, especially when comparing the songs on the album to some of their more experimental stuff on In Utero. And I agree that grunge if far from pop.

  • @ostinwitz Yeah, I agree that he didn't like smells like teen spirit. But I don't think he generally hated/disliked the record. In fact I think that one of his favorite songs was Drain you. Maybe it did have softer songs, but it wasn't a soft album overall. I mean, you still have territorial pissings, breed, lithium, stay away, endless nameless that had a heavier sound and could be of a general dislike in pop culture. And even Polly was quite controversial.

  • @Kerbesk I didn't mean he hated the songs, he was just upset with how the mixer tweaked the songs. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've read that Krist and Kurt were even upset by how the final mixings of In Utero ended up as well, and it's quite obvious that In Utero is a much... "dirtier" sounding album, for lack of a better term. I've also read that Drain You, along with Aneurysm, were his favorite songs to perform. You've made good points so I guess I'll just agree to disagree from here. :p

  • @ihavekankles Really?, meh i listen to Michael Jackson which is pop, so i could go either way. ;)

  • @KradianDiet Nevermind was very pop. Can't say the same for Bleach, In Utero, and most of their other music, but Nevermind, for the most part, was pop.

  • it was murder. Google Cobaincase.

  • i hate when they take that part of the mtv interview that kurt did...he was talking about his stomach problems not just being depressed or whatever

  • recreated pop music???? wat is this.

  • @Tlovhak Youtube.

  • that interview at the beginning was 199fucking3

  • Not suicide, murder. Find out the facts.

    Justiceforkurt(dot)com.

  • Jeeees.....stupid comments!!! Cant people express their conspiracy theories somewhere else??? It is not like you can convince everyone one youtube to suddenly change their oppinion with your stupid comments. If someone happened to be interested in it they would go look for facts somewhere else.

  • who the fuck is ben lee and fuck chris jericho and fuck pop music

  • not being funny but to be honest it must of been quite hard for her to sit back and watch kurt almost kill himself, inject any drug he could find into his system what could she do? of course she could of helped him but no one expects someone to actually kill themselves just back off her a bit kurt loved courtney and she loved him why else would she bring an innocent child into this, kurt cobain since a young man used to joke about suicide, his relatives commited it he wasnt murdered okay

  • @tomgmaster2 i know :) i read heavier than heaven. its not easy for everyone, the story of his life gets to such a building point where everyone he knows is trying to force him into everything, and even you, as the reader, understand why kurt would want to leave.

  • People made fun of Micheal Jackson until the day he died, then they all said how it was so tragic when he died....I don't understand how his doctor is blamed for his death when mj was a drug addict. FACE IT. Mike killed himself.

  • Shoulda Been # one!!

    Miss ya Kurt<3

    ps: Leave Courtney alone. (lol)

  • he was murdered

  • There so much that's unproven in this clip. The Rome overdose was never proven to be a suicide attempt, in fact the doctor that treated him said it was not a suicide attempt. And there's no proof he was depressed the last month of his life. There is evidence he was off of heroin at the time. This segment boils down to blatant misinformation. It was murder.

  • it's all wrong..it should be lennon,cobain,hendrix,morrison,joplin and THEN jackson..shit...vh1

  • @Ambika2712 agreed 100%

  • kurt drove an older silver volkswagen volvo!! =D i always wanted too know what he drove! im a chevy guy, but i love kurts lack of luxurious items for the money he had. he had a nice, simple house, simple car, and most def simple music, but very different, and out of this world. god i love this man!! i swear he is my real fucking bio father! lol

  • Comment removed

  • WOW crap chris jericho Y2J

  • Lsn to his music, how was it 'shocking' that he killed himself.... His music expresses pretty much the deepest depression you can get.

  • @runescapemichbla His lyrics where random words ?

    lol

  • @iHateThisShirt ok so according to you, music are just lyrics.? :P

  • @runescapemichbla the "music" sounds normal for this genre of music

  • @iHateThisShirt true.. but in that case i wouldnt be surprised if any artist in this genre of music kills himself

  • @runescapemichbla lol rite

  • @runescapemichbla ehh not all of it... have you ever listened too incectiside?? songs on there like sliver, mollys lips, beeswax, or son of a gun? even nevermind had a few happy songs.

  • who are these douche bags that talk on these videos, I've literally never heard of any of them. Chris Jericho is an asshole.

  • this doesn't make any sense seeing as Kurt Cobain was murdered.

  • Y2J !!

  • Who gives a fuck he became more famous after death then alive, and stop blaming her they were both loser assholes, neather one of them had real talent,GOto a childrens hospital and watch some poor kid fighting for his life from cancer then you will see a real champion, those two losers had it all, fucking drug addicts..

  • @rongladiator I realise your the sort of person who thrives on arguments and negative criticism but please do the world a big favor and keep your opinions to yourself. (And learn to spell)

  • all i have to say is we'll never know unless courtney says it herself

  • Courtney sure has no problem making money off her dead ex hubby.

  • i hate grunge, i like britpop better. RIP kurt

  • Comment removed

  • Somehow Courtney was involved with his death either she killed him or she drove him to suicide it's her fault.

  • chris fucking jericho? laughable.

  • SUICIDE 'cos:

    1. The toxicology results never leaked. You guys speculate with media reports that never gave evidence. The essay "dead men..." was written by an obsessive Nirvana fan, biased.

    2. There were 6 prints lifted. The prints were not legible because of excessive sweat (usual in suicide victimis 'cos they get nervous).

    3. The note was analysed by an expert. Results? It was written by Cobain.

    4. The credit card records are delayed(eg:plane ticket bought the 1st of april, charged the 2nd).

  • @floppingnoni A lot of people also forget that he used a shotgun and not something with a bullet. People like to pull the argument that the "angle" his body was found at with the gun, he couldn't have pulled the trigger and been shot in the head... yeah that's hard with a single bullet, but with a shotgun it's EASY, the shots spray everywhere! Just 1/3 of that shot needs to touch your head, and you're done!

  • It was a SUICIDE. Why do you guys believe a pi who didn't find a corpse while searching a property? Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. In this case, there's a lack of evidence in the murder cause, therefore, ridiculous accusations.

  • Kurt Cobain didn't kill himself, he was murdered.

  • He didn't commit suicide. He was given a hot dose of heroin and put under by that then some one staged the shooting of himself. Courtney HAD to be involved given the facts surrounding the case.

  • That anthrax guys comment was SO generic

  • How gay.

but i do like his godlike ways, being adored & cared about by millions Then in the time of his death have millions light candles &mourn him.

  • I know this is way off what everyone else is bumping there gums about, But what is the song like right at the end? Anyone know?

  • @MrAJSavage About 2 mins onward.

  • @MrAJSavage It sounds familiar but its not made by Nirvana. Just sad acoustics.

  • Way too sad watching this, we miss you Kurt :(

  • 90's was the best and the worst era of music. so many talented musicians with great music all dead in their prime, kurt cobain, 2pac, biggie, and they changed their respective genre's forever no denying that

  • @Fuckdisworld93 True that, nothing has EVER been the same or as good since that era!

  • the 90's was the last time when people care about music. for me kurt is bigger than michael. this count down should me: #3 michael #2 kurt #1 jonh

  • @TheRevSRB Wheres your facts?

  • @SamsonOff7 cobaincase . com

  • @TheRevSRB That or she hired someone. More than likely it was murder for hire. She made sure her alibi's were in place for it.

  • @TheRevSRB She didn't kill him

  • @TheNaivegurl hell yeah she did 100% all the way she did she's just a lying whore who goes for the popular guys

  • @TheNaivegurl She send somebody to kill him -.-

  • @TheNaivegurl Agreed! Cobain killed himself.

  • the world was fuckin grey that day.

  • 1994.. a horrible year. But kurt was Murdered. Facts not what u hear from the News, Media or Courtney Love. search your shit up and then you'll see it all points out, Kurt was killed. He was quitting the Music Indsutry, not gonna Kill himself, But therefore, he was worth more Dead then Alive to alot of people. Including his Wife that he was GOING 2 DIVORCE that same year.

  • @lopdudeskates grunge isnt a genre every band who was branded that hated the term and there are no characteristics of grunge beacause each band sounded different

  • it s always sad. there isn t one single answer for why or how this happened

  • WHY AM I LOOKING AT CHRIS JERICHO RIGHT NOW

  • @bobjimjones lol my thoughts exactly

  • 0:46 he has to be one of the most beautiful looking people ever.

RIP Kurt <3 Forever in my heart.

  • man, courtney should of been there for him =/

  • Psht, I love how people talk about Cobain like they were in his head or something. >.<

  • @ledscream true.

  • whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i didnt want kurt cobain to dieeeeeeeee i mean i already knew he was dead but stillllllllllllll :'(

  • Damn it you people are stupid. GRUNGE IS NOT A GENRE! It was just a term made up by the media to label the bands coming out of Seattle in the late 80s and early 90s. If you wan't to get into the specifics of what each band really was..here it is. Nirvana was a punk band. Mudhoney was a punk band. Alice in chains was metal. Pearl Jam was alternative rock..Soundgarden was hard rock.

  • Grunge is a shitstew of punk and pop,.. "with a twist of lemon"

  • @MrSeAnTr89 Grunge is a mixer of Punk and Heavy Metal asshole.

  • He brought grunge into the pop spotlight, that concept gets lost in translation.

  • WHAT!? NUMBER 3! THIS IS THE MOST SHOCKING MUSIC MOMENT EVERY WHATS WRONG WITH THEM.

  • nirvana is a type of punk. alice in chains is a type of metal. non of the "grunge" bands sound ANYTHING like each other. educate yourselves people

  • @RockZeWorld Yea they do. Grunge is just a Mixer of Punk rock, Heavy Metal, and Rock N' Roll. Alice In Chains suited the Metal vibe, Nirvana the Punk vibe, Pearl Jam the Rock N' Roll Vibe, and Soundgarden the rusty Grunge rock vibe. They were all the same by a few things, they were different then an other Genre out there, Were Honest, Filled with Reality and Art, and were a Giant impact with their Music and Passion.

    Grunge is Freedom.

  • his band was rock or grunge not pop, such a tragic death and stop turning whats left of nirvana into what kurt didnt want... a corporate rock band, kurt hated smells like teen spirit because when he played it he felt like the band was becoming corporate, theres lots of other bands out there so stop being obsessed with nirvana, thats what kurt wouldve wanted

  • Pop stands for popular music. They were Pop. Beatles, Ke$ha, and Aretha Franklin were all or are pop. It depend on what's POPULAR, idiots.

  • Not a shock, sad, but didn't surprise anyone. Listen to his lyrics, he was suicidal.

  • The fuck that's Chris Jericho O.O ?????

  • POP MUSIC TRAGEDIES FUCK THAT NIRVANA WAS PUNK!

  • OMG! STFU about the stupid "grundge not pop shit!" ....pop music is DEFINED as popular music and at the time nirvana was the most popular band! Even on windows media player when I was listening to the Beatles they were classified as pop, pop goes back to the Beatles time it just changes to what music is popular at the time, not all pop music was shitty like "pop" as we know it today

  • This made me cry, I'm completely unashamed

  • besides all, wtf is doing chris jericho in a music channel?

  • @raulox17 gee i dont know maybe cause he has his own band and has been a musician for years

  • ;( kurt

  • Idiots its grunge not pop and wtf they make it sound that our love 4 his music killed him bs bs b mofckn s

  • NIRVANA WAS GRUNDGE!!!

  • I blame Courtney Love

  • @Iwannakilllilwayne sammmme

  • @Iwannakilllilwayne I agree

  • holy shit, it's chris jericho

  • I saw this guy in universal in the jurassic park ride.

  • @CharlesTeeVee really? what did it show?

  • @manhuntruler2 hIM WORKING

  • I want to know why the fuck Nirvana is called "pop" here...

  • I feel so very sorry for Kurt Cobain. In some of the photos, there is such desperation in his eyes, like he was suffering and in a great deal of emotional pain. If I had been around him, I would have tried to reach out to him. The world is not the same without him. He was and is very much needed here.

  • I remember the first thing i said when i heard he died. FUCK

  • why is scott ian in every fucking vh1 video or behind the music or everything..
