  • @deadbunny001 yes its Vai's rip-off of the "Jimi" strat!

  • i dislike how long this video isn't.

  • That confirms that his tone does not come from the guitar It come from the way he plays the guitar and phrasing ans the technique. very cool video.

  • TAAAAAAASH!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vai on maple neck?!?! And a single coil neck pup???!?!.... Wow.... And it isnt a Jem at all too!!!.... Sign of the end of the world??

  • @indrajem7vwh not only neck single coil! It's 3 single coils!!! OMG the end is near...

  • @indrajem7vwh he had maple necks ON MANY of his universes and early jems

  • @indrajem7vwh You mean maple fretboard. Every ibanez he has had features a maple neck.

  • what guitar is he playing?

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • for a moment there i thought he was playing a strat...

  • is this is ibanez answer to the fender hendrix moterey pop festival strat?

  • @osianjones25 no, he painted this guitar by himself, check facebook :D

  • @Softairguy awesome! (:

  • what kinda guitar is this?

  • @Obigrobi666 it's his own custom one, he did the artwork on the body, he uploaded a photo of just the unfinished body on his facebook wall photos, not sure of what actual type of guitar it is, may be just an altered version of a jem or something :P

  • Yeah; @ 21-23 seconds, and then again one second after that also. Complete with the dive bomb and everything. Just imagine a longer pause after the dive, and yes, same key, same notes, and almost the same melody.

  • He is great, but it sounded like he was jumping into "Cliffs of Dover" a few times.

  • @jneither what? really?

  • i.. shit my pants :o

  • Is it wrong if I 'liked' this before I even saw it 'cuz it's Vai ???

  • @GuitarTosh007 You can't say "The", there's already 2 Guitar Pirates : Uli Jon Roth and Yngwie Malmsteen ;)

  • @tampix77

    Hah yeah, ok

  • What kind of guitar is that!! that's an awesome guitar!!!!

  • @jemercury That has to be some Ibanez RG custom model, not oneof his usual Ibanez JEM's.

  • @dudewhosaysarrh I dont even think its an RG i thinks its just a strat boddy style

  • @InsanityType66 Damn, you're right. it IS a strat Body with an Ibanez neck, looks like somebody tried to rip off Eddie Van Halen ;-)

  • @dudewhosaysarrh No actually, Steve played strats before his jem, and he got the idea for the Jem from strats ,he also stated he likes strat style guitars :P Also... it doesnt even look EVH-ish beside the front and back red a white... it has Vai-ish drawings all over it lol

  • @InsanityType66 and has 24 frets

  • @InsanityType66 I can remember Steve Vai from the time way back when he was playing for Frank Zappa, so I know he used to play Strats back then;) The Van Halen statement was meant to be an in-joke, since Eddie Van Halen occasionaly exchanged the original Fender necks for Charvel or Kramer ones. Btw: He built more than one "Frankenstein" its just that the red black and white striped one happened to be the most famous. Steve obviosly did a similar thing by putting an Ibanez neck on a Fender body.

  • @dudewhosaysarrh ahh well i dont really know much about eddie except that hes pretty beast haha

  • Looks like he's adjusting a preset on his Axe Fx and then unleash the madness

  • Is that Eric Johnson setting up his pedalboard on the right? COOL!

  • @jpmna01 nice spotting ..is that really EJ ????

  • We've posted samples of the Zoom Q3HD on our site.

  • @TheAlterKakers Cheat - just a ploy to drive traffic to your shitty band

  • @ipodminisilver really quite shit...

  • he is the man..

  • I believe steve vai is on a hendrix tour atm!

  • Where is this? That's Will Calhoun's kit in the back. I'm curious now.

  • and plays a strat?

  • @fencore It's a strat style body but it's got an Ibanez headstock and you can spot the famous edge pro II trem in the closeup, and mostlikely an HSS pickup configuration. Vai would never play anything but Ibanez, at least not on camera lol.

  • @iviaverick52......Dude, if you go onto his Facebook, you can find a picture of the guitar. Close-up.

  • steve vai has a moustache?
