Everyone is talking about how humans are superior humans are as far as these robots are concerned. But imagine if we could put robotic soldiers on the field controlled by a human, remotely? Not AI in the bot but a human with a remote control. Take it from a military man, it'd be nice to drop the death toll on the battlefield. No matter the price, the cost of a droid, a few servos and circuits, is cheaper than the loss of a father, a son, a mother, a daughter. I pray we get to that point soon!

I know to many out here this thing look really rudimentary at this point, but give Boston Dynamics another 15 to 20 years. The stuff we call science fiction (The Terminator T-800 etc.) may not be so fictitious anymore. There are big investments being made. It has a long way to go in terms of agility and speed. In addition once either Intel, IBM or AMD or all three develop some type of neural processor/cpu. It's coming. I just hope that there will be a serious fail safe system in place.

Robots will be MUCH, much cheaper than humans. Humans need food, water and soo many variables. Also emotional status, they need time to learn, years to develop physically, the list can just keep on going.

A robot can just be programmed to know anything and will have a much greater capacity than a human brain. The only energy they will need is electrical and that's about all the requirements. They will be physically much stronger. But that ofcourse will happen in the near future.

You talk about the failures - it just took ONE getting it right with the nuclear bomb then they knew how it worked and built on that.
