  • Love watching your videos. I have made the mistake of jumping on the scale every day as well. I learned the hard way that losing weight can be a positive thing, but it can be misleading at the same time. As long as I'm eating right and doing proper exercising, it is the critical factor here that exhibits results and a trim body.

  • my goal is to lick your balls :)

  • Scoot in this video you talk more about beginners who want to lose weight and very little about beginners who want to gain muscle. =(

  • HEY YOU WERE ON THE REAL WORLD!!

  • Read up on PSMF like Rapid Fat Loss by Lyle Mcdonald, losing more than 8-10 pounds a month is certainly possible without losing (or losing very little) muscle.

It does require weight training and an almost 100% protein diet (+ fiberous veggies and EFA, fish oil). Other than this there is some good advice here.

  • @scotthermanfitness scott please put something up for hardgainers only! I would like a reply to my post please, although i know you are busy. Thanks, brotha!

  • scott.. dont stare at me like that! LOL

  • Thanks Scott. Your tips have helped me soo much. Been working out about a month and a half and ive gained 12 pounds. lol, Went from 129-141. Crazy, from Skinny and Lean to Healthy, Muscled and Lean. Can't wait to see how much bigger i can get. Thats my motivation now. I just look at myself and grin. haha, thanks Scott!

  • Hi Scott :) well, of course you dont know me. my name is Ofek, and i really want to have a nice body shape as yours (that's pretty stupid, ill have a body like yours only in few years ) actually im 14 years old and im pretty fat lol :S my height is 183 cm and my weight is 73 kg. the only problem for now is i cant even do 1 pushup, but i still can lift weights (about 13 kg each arm).

how should i begin? i know you began too at age 14 :) please answer to me !

  • Hey I jog Daily Unless it just get too hot outside, And was wondering if you know of some good ways to burn fat, in the home that dosnt require a tredmill?

  • Hey Scott, what are your thoughts about lipo suction? Does it harm your body too much?

  • It's people like YOU who make no sense because they are uneducated so I advice you to do your research before you start acusing other people for not knowing anything...I got this utube link just for you, yes, Id recomend that you watch the whole thing but if not, start at 2:35 to learn that 5lbs of muscle a year is actually what you get, and 5-10lbs if u are verrryy lucky..Ok thanks have a good day

  • gain 2 lbs of musle a month maxium?? LOL...Scott I love ur vids but ur waayyy off..the average person gains about 5lbs of muscle PER YEAR...10lbs if you are genetically gifted. Just wanted to clarify this.

  • @PistolStar21 Dont be an ass seriously 5lbs of muscle PER YEAR IS OBSURED if youre actually working out. When you look at those bodybuilders that are 250 pounds and more than half of that is muscle its not 5 pounds a year or they would work out for like 20-30 years and no one would workout cause its ridiculous AND he said MAXIMUM get your facts straight :)

  • @oblivinati779 Wow you are retarded, just listen to yourself...First of all, pro bodybuilders HAVE been working out for 20+ years, just look at jay cutler, ronnie colemen, branch warren to name a few..second of all they are the best of the best use growth hormone's, steroids, and that is why they have so much muscle, the average person will never get that big without that much dedication and using supplements/growth hormones...So YOU GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BUD

  • @PistolStar21 Dude if you gained 5 LBS of muscle PER YEAR you are getting no results at all except for walking around for 20 minutes a day. 2LBS is alot a month BUT 5 a year is way to low to even make sence.

  • @oblivinati779 Opps link didnt work Look up scooby1961 and go to his vid called "BUlking up and gaining muscle"

  • @PistolStar21 scooby is a retard 5lbs a year is waaaaaaaay off track I gain that much by just starring at the weights

  • @be9easy3 5lbs of MUSCLE that is not counting fat and water weight. That is a very realistic number.

  • i was allways taught. the Mirror is the best scale :)

  • @bbroegger well said hahahaha

  • YOU ARE GORGEOUS

  • Excellent.

As a medical scholar I highly recommend his advice to all intelligent individuals like myself who is here to improve their physical fitness and their personal development.

    Brilliant work, Mr. Herman.

  • Hi Scott, you single?

  • @Sharurotto4 whore!!!

  • @BillionaireBastard91 go to his channel and over on his playlist there are : The Be a 10 in 2010, Scotts words of wisdom(health and nutrtion), and others but I can only think of these two so far check out his channle.

  • wait a minute....you workout?

  • is 100 minutes of cardio 7 days a week too much? is it better to do cardio before weights? or weights before cardio. thanks!

  • @jungleizmasivv its 1% harder to do weight after cadio and 8%(but it feels more like 80) harder to cadio after weighs, as for 100 minute in 7 day i would say no but u want to bring it down to 6 days coz u always want a rest day

  • 1.45 This is nonsense, if your real desire is to help others and educate them then make sure you understand what you're talking about before you open your mouth, .

As it stands this video is amateurish, incoherent and more likely to confuse then enlighten.

  • @Oliva515 Is this what you do in your spare time? Watch all of his vids and bitch about shit he says? For fuck sake.

  • @Oliva515 Fuckass. This guy is a professional, and knows what he is talking about. You do not.

  • @psillyme1 Very well said!! Thank u ;<))

  • @psillyme1 she is right but there is a reason he only gives out half the information as a professional his goal is to make money so he wants u to keep asking for more but he won’t give them up until u pay. In my opinion he could structure his videos more there not the easiest to understand and some of it is very misleading.

  • @Oliva515 Scott.....pls dont listen to this one..!! I think she's just having her period. Keep up the GREAT work.....cya

  • How can you only gain 2 pounds of muscle a month?

  • @Evanngelos believe or not ur body fight muscle gain in a process to help repair it so u lose 90% of ur muscle gain from ur workout so that y u can only gain 1-3lb of muscle a month

  • lol i like how u said "hi ladies" in ue text bubble lol but anyways i've been watchin ur videos for about an hour n they really motivated me a lot. they are awesome n i see people hatin on them well let them hate!! Well thanxxx very very much for all these precious infos n if there is a way i can message u personally to ask u more questions about the workouts i've started about a week ago plese let me know!! :) thnx agaiiiiiiin!! :)

  • hey Scott. just a question..im 5'9 and weigh i40 lbs. whats the fastest method for me to lose the bit of fat on my belly and gain muscle on my upper body and core area?

where and how can i do this body fat measurement??

  • thank you sooooo much that's helped me alot

coz today is my first gym day, and I wanna lose weight and have muscle body too, wasn't sure If I'm going to lose weight or not, but now I'm sure and I can't wait to see the result. thnx man you're the best.

  • your right about the 5 meals a day but 4-8 grams of protein is way too much for the average fitness person. 1-2 is fine for the majority of the population and any more than that is for the hardcore bodybuilders that compete in Mr Olympia

  • YH i jus wanna gain more weight and maybe a bit toned not ripped to the extreme lol :D yh thx il look for that video ive subbe you for some reason lol thx again much appriecated :) NO MORE CANDY lol

  • im 16 and i weigh 8 1/2 stone im about 5 ft 9 what do you think i should be eating like amounts and how many times a day foods etc... exercises drinks plz reply you seem to know what your talking about ?????

  • Hi Scott. I've always wanted to gain muscle and I usually do at home workouts. The problem is, Im a skinny guy and its hard for me to gain weight. I eat and never really gain anything. Can you help me out or make a video for the skinny guys trying to become something more,

  • i'm in the same position.

  • @Fahad1342 Check out the book Scrawny To Brawny. DO IT. You're obviously not eating ENOUGH, and/or you're not working out properly. But.. More than likely its because you're not eating enough.

  • @Fahad1342 i agree...........a vid on the subject is xtremely essential.....me too, hav had the same prob...plus to make matters worse, a belly thats barely in control!! Haahaa imagine, lean, mean with a beer belly...!!

  • @Fahad1342

    still having problems?

  • @Fahad1342 Did you get some advice mate? I'm 21, 6 foot 5 tall and skinny hate it!

  • @Fahad1342 Weightgain supplements are probably the solution for you, and all the other skinny guys who find it hard to gain weight.

(My friend has gained 13 lbs with gainershakes and intensive training, he was also skinny)

  • @Fahad1342 Forgot to mention, he gained 13lbs in 2 months :)

  • Yeh Scott can you make one for skinny guys with hight metabolism because for us we could eat all the time and not gain even 1 pound, eaven if u say at home and do nothing :(

  • Awesome, thanks.

  • @ScottHermanFitness hey scott what exercises do you do to burn fat? because i saw on one of your videos you posted you commented that you rarely do cardio? and from what ive heard cardio is the only way to burn fat.

sorry if im mistaken and thanks for clearing it up bro

  • If you don't have too much body fat and you eat properly you don't need to do cardio(because there is nothing you need to burn)

  • You don't need to do as much cardio but you do need to do cardio for your general fitness and health

  • well said

  • you're like my inspiration to keep going to the gym, seriously.

  • Scott thank you for spending you time and effort for us to be in better shape. you have viewers from all around the globe like me.

  • Hey Scott. I know your Videos are usually geared towards younger People but< I am a 60 year old man. I am 60 pounds overweight. I never used to be like this. Until I was 45 I was slim at 6 foot and was 170 lbs. Then I had a back injury, and I have been on Morphine since. I am discusted of this whole process. I want to lose this extra weight realy bad. I watched all of you videos. You know what you are talking about, you are highly intelligent. Any word of advice for this old fart. PS, Love you.

  • Con estos consejos si dan ganas de ir al gimnasio yo tambien estoy empezando GRACIAS

  • scott, i remember on one of your vids you said something about uneven chest muscles.. but i cant find it, could you tell me whats its all about? haha thanks

  • Hey mate i have the same problem did Scott get back to you or do you know the video :) ?

  • hey scott

how do u work out ur body fat percentage just by going on a scale?

  • Btw.....thankyou again for sharing another fabulous 5 star deserving video with us.........you rock

  • Why is it bad to tap into ur muscle tissue if u lose more than 8 to 10lbs? What if you don't want any muscle and you want to lose all ur body fat? I want to lose 20 lbs and my main target area is my stomach, what exercises can i do to get a lean flat stomach without any muscles?

  • I'm 15 years old, 5'7" 130 pounds I want to gain weight and muscle. My goal weight is 150-160, got any suggestions?

  • eat a good balanced diet and lift weights , i'm 15 and i've been working out for around 2 years but only seriously been going a gym regularly for 7 months , i weighed around 130 when i was 14 and i was about 5"10, since i've been working out i've added around 35 pounds and not grown in height, i've been pretty lucky though, don't expect to be gaining alot of weight/ muscle quickly it takes alot of work and time , good luck.

  • Hi Scot,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

    I'va a question about gym, I'm a Beginner age 23

do I have to do it heavy or start with heavy weights?

  • you're my idol

  • great videos, but, i have a question for u, im 14, i want to go to a gym, but im thin, and i need to gain muscle, any advice?

  • At my gym they have a model of what you're explaining. It basically shows what 1 lb of fat looks like, and what 1 lb of muscle looks like, so you can visually compare the size difference with the same mass. It blew my mind away!

  • i noticed you always say, "its a mental thing" did you study psychology?

  • Thanks for your input.

  • Hi, Scott, I got back into lifting again. I am a college student and US Army Reservist. Is it possible to increase your run time and also build muscle mass?

There's an APFT coming up and I want to add more muscle mass.

  • Hey Scott.

Firstly, thanks for uploading all these videos. They are very useful to me.I just want to ask a quick question. I want to gain maximum muscle at the gym. Will doing cardio before or after my actual weights workout reduce my muscle weight gains? Thanks again.

  • Thank's Scott! That actually made a whole lot of sense.

  • i jump on the scale every 2 weeks or one week not every day mentally i dont think thats healthy to worry about your weight to much, my main thing is exercising and eating right.

  • That's makes a lot of sense. I started running again this month & eating healthily & gained a lb & was super frustrated cuz I looked a lot slimmer. I feel better now thanks :)

  • Great video,

Im going to your site now.

I like how you teach the information and break it all down--that is a special ad very important talent that cant be taught.

  • scott herman is the king of fitness!

  • @CinematicvideoPro thats tony horton lol but scot is on his way to be a legend 2

  • I actually recommend getting on the scale before and after the workout so that you can calculate your water loss for proper hydration.

  • This made alot of sense. The fat and muscle thing had always confused me but I get it now. Thanks :) Happy 4th of July!

  • Just throwin out a happy 4th of July Scott.

Great video. Helpin me and others out alot. . Dont stop makin them!

  • Great video! Very informative. You look great, keep the videos coming. I am actually writing from my boyfriends page, but i just bought this work out video and would love to learn good exercises to tone my back area if you know what i mean. Any tips?

  • Still waiting on that Pec's video!

    :)

  • Thanks Scott.

  • Great tips, I actually quit the gym, not because I wasn't dedicated. I was a lot dedicated, just kept getting sick, then I started school, no energy.

    Happy 4th Scott.
