The jabber chat voice in okami gives the charters expression while still alowing the use use of text the game developers wanted to use text as the act of reading text conects the player to the story in a diffrent manor then spoken dialog would I think it works very well it also allows the player to put the voice they feel fits with each charter there imagnation creates in some part the charters persona.

Clover make a incredible job. Clover love Zelda and make other game like Zelda games.I agree when this kind of games out there the other games are mere superficial. Metroid, Zelda, Mario and now Okami. PLEASE NINTENDO or CAPCOM. Don't let Amaterasu die.

I wish there was a second game, but there is not, and who knows, it's better like this. If they did a second game they would have to create another story, and this one is so perfectly made that there is no space for more. But as a new experience I'd like to play it on the Wii but don't have one :(

Indeed, Clover studio was close because of the bad results of okami..........That's unfair because this game is really amazing!

So I don't think there will be a second episode, but who knows? Maybe there is one person in this world who is ready to take the risk to produce another piece of art in case of making money any time...........

yes, "okami" means "great diety", and it also means "wolf"

(in both cases a long o is used- technically we should be spelling it ookami)

but amaterasu is based on the god/godess omikami amaterasu (amaterasu is portrayed in both genders, although more commonly as a woman)

this game, as a play on words, changed amaterasu's name from omikami amaterasu to okami amaterasu. so it is correct to cal amaterasu "okami". those who call her that are simply calling her by her last name

okami is a generic word that means GOD/GODDESS, and this HAS NOTHING TO DO with christianity or religions that only have one god. japanese culture have LOTS of gods/godesses, and amaterasu is the godDESS of the sun. okami isn't her name nor her surname, it's an honorary title for ALL THE GODS/GODESSES in japan.

It does say that at the beginning, but they're using Okami as her title. Everyone else has titles before their names in the game, but the characters call her Amaterasu, not Okami.
