Actually, glaciers calve because they are advancing and become unstable as they float on the water. Glaciers advance because accumulation exceeds melting. Retreating glaciers do calve, but it is not necessarily a sign of a dying glacier.

No it will not. Just do a little experiment yourself like I just did. Take a jar of water and dump a block of ice in it. Measure the water level, then wait for it to completely melt and note the water level again. It will be exactly the same. Why? Because H20 expands when it freezes and most the ice is under the water. When is turns to water the volume decreases and the difference in volume is the volume of the ice above the water. I feel so stupid for believing the establishments bullshit.

All this time though since 1998 co2 levels have been rising.

And, there is NO dangerous climate change caused by human carbon dioxide - just as the "independent scientists" are now trying to tell us! But, the Democrat media machine doesn't want us to hear that.

Yes well said. This is just like the hysteria that was wiped up over WMD's in Iraq. Exactly the same formula. They paint a picture of doom and make us feel like our safety is under imminent threat, and then give us a solution which is just to hand over more of our rights, freedom and money. The global elite control both sides of politics and this is their time to play the 'left hand side of the field' and attack us through the environment.

We are animals and therefore we are natural. Its not so bad anyway. Who cares when human kind disappears from the planet? Catastrophes are natural. No it will not. Just do a little experiment yourself like I just did. Take a jar of water and dump a block of ice in it. Measure the water level, then wait for it to completely melt and note the water level again. It will be exactly the same. Why? Because H20 expands when it freezes and most the ice is under the water. When is turns to water the volume decreases and the difference in volume is the volume of the ice above the water. I feel so stupid for believing the establishments bullshit.

Because of all the pollution and greenhouse gases that are being emitted into the atmosphere at an ever increasing rate, the climate is changing. Warming in some places, and cooling in others. It isn't global WARMING, its global CHANGE. To say that nothing is happening is illogical and ignorant because the proof is all around us.

What proof? So far the only proof I see is media support along with political support. Usually it isn't a good thing if both of those groups are telling us something. 90% of the time it is a straight lie to make a select group in government money. Look up carbon offsets, educate yourself on the cap and trade market and the fraud it brings with it. Bottom line, prove there is something happening before you guys take it as a truth and allow carbon taxes to be put regressively on our populus.

Relax for God's sake. Every summer the glaciers melt at the edges and collapse. And polar sea ice retreats. Been going on for millions of years. Guess what would happen if it didn't melt and collapse each year, and instead continued to grow? Ever heard of an Ice Age?

Despite all the focus on the issue, the emissions of greenhouse gases world wide has continued to parallel economic growth. Consequently the emissions increases have been higher than even the worst case (business as usual) scenarios produced in the earlier reports by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).
If you are all so concerned that these concerns may drive change away from growth, well it ain't happening!

The earth is much cooler now than in 1998. The cooling is noticable. According to NASA satellite temperature sensors and the Met Office Hadley Centre in the UK there has been no year since 1998 that has been as warm or warmer than 1998. Also those same NASA satellite sensors show quick cooling in the earth since January 2007.
All this time though since 1998 co2 levels have been rising.

ok I think global warming is bad and we can do smthng bout it, but ice in southern hemisphere does melt in summer, actually you can go on vacations (to patagonia in argenitna) and take a boat and watch how a huge peice of cie falls and afterwards melts, it is a normal process, but maybe global warming is acelarating this process. and noelio1974 not all the palnets are facing global warming, global warming is caused by greenhouse effect. So many people get their science from Hollywood these days. Read National Geographic from years ago and you will find that most of their predicted 'Gloom and Doom' did not come even close to happening. IF is only a word. Issue after Hurricane Katrina; NO END IN SIGHT, well duh, if hurricanes end, we are back to the Cretaceous, one of the most stable periods in earth's history. No Ice caps BTW.
