Harold 'Bud' Brennan was my son's great uncle. The story may have been embellished a bit but it's a great family story and as it turns out, the two men became friends. Bud eventually apologized to Tom and he sent him Christmas and Birthday cards every year for over 30 years, I have been told. They even got together for dinner in later years and played golf.
