Great vid!! as a diver myself tho who HASNT done cave or ice diving, why the stage cylinders? cant be for decompression as the dive seems quite shallow - also becuase of the cold doubt you'd want to be under more than an hour! is it for backup/redundancy only?
Good observations. The stage isn't needed for depth or distance or time. We only took them because the water was so cold that freeflows were a distinct possibility. The extra regulator on the stage bottle is just added redundancy which we wouldn't have used if the water had been warmer. Thanks for the comments!
many thanks! i guessed they must be for back up only (i dive UK cold waters - to 4degrees - but we make sure we have cold water kits fitted to our regs to reduce chance of free flow - we still carry a 3lt pony cylinder for redundancy tho if diving 25m -40m
thanks anyway - great vid, hope to try ice diving one day!

Are they expensive. I use to make dive light, and reel's but been away from diving so long I'm out of touch sorta with all this stuff

Are they made in Canada?
Rikasso66 2 years ago
They're made in the US, but there Canadian retailers who sell that brand.

I must say I'm sorry I did not read the title properly, once again my bad.
Thanks.
Do you guys have someone making your specailty gear ie:dive lights reels ect?
Rikasso66 2 years ago
You must have been surprised... Expecting to see a big steel ferry and finding a little wooden wreck instead.
The lights and reels are from Halcyon.

I'm thinking that was not the wolf Ils ferry???
Rikasso66 2 years ago
Not the Wolf Island Ferry. That's just East of Kingson.
This wreck is the Islander. It's right in front of the town of Alexandria Bay in 40 ft of water.

I've been up in that area, having grown up in the Midwest and traveled a lot as a kid.
