Somehow I like playing DMC3 more with Vergil as it's much easier to do the "single-run-all-complete" challenge with him. Dante's cool but you have to be supersuper pro if you want get all his weapons complete in one run.

As far as I know Royal Vergil is the contume of Vergil. (Normal - Blue coat, brown boots and black torso.) So it is Red Royal Vergil. (The reason why red you said.

You have to finish difficulties of the game in order to get costumes.I think you get that costume when you finish hard mode.
