I have this laser. First night I got it, worked perfectly. Used it for about an hour and a half no problems. Next night, used it for 30 minutes, then the laser dimmed after about 5 seconds of usage. Next day, it kept going from normal power to dimming down over and over. As of the time I am writing this, it's power is significantly decreased and I have no idea why. I doubt that AAA's run out that quickly.

I am an experienced laser hobbyist and own one of these. As measured with my laser power meter the output of this "5mw" laser is 47mw! 15mw of that however is infrared. I is without the needed infrared filter. Either way you still have ~33mW of 532nm beautifully bright, thin, coherent, astonishing laser beam! The switch requires care though, Mine has broken from being pressed to hard. You can't beat this deal though.

hey bro I just purschased one of this lasers for 8$ but it seems to be working bad! When I push the button at the first second it shows a powerful beam but then the power decreases. I mean it's like if it work 100% for 1 second and then goes to 50%. What could that be?? like it loses power. Im using new duracell AAA batteries.

I honestly agree i have a 5mw green laser and its super bright and a fully visible beam at night mine will touch the clouds on a cloudy night pretty awesome and only payed 8 buck on ebay and with fresh batteries you can even see the beam during the day. I LOVE GREEN LASERS

I have one of these, and they are decent. They have a 1-2 second warm up time, and if you let it run for too long, it dies. You can keep it on for short periods of time before it starts dimming, and then overheating. Once it cools down, it works again. I have popped a balloon with this through a jewlers loop. Very very bring compared to red, and green has a beem. Its a cheap start to green lasers.

It is perfectly legal to own a laser thats above 5 mw in the united states. You just can't buy them from Deal Extreme although they do sell them.
