@bzagar1 Well you sound like you don`t know anything about the band. You sound like someone who has never heard anything passed "The Real Thing" and probably thinks they were a one hit wonder...listen to 'Angel Dust", far different then the early stuff.
@codebabe How did he used to be as a person? He was young and weird back then. Now he's old and weird. What's the difference? But he's the only one of all of them that has kept his youthful look.
@hootyhaha he was alot different. he didn't used to make fun of bands as much and was a bit less outspoken. If you watch newer interviews with him he's different than he is in this one or the other ones from this era.
@codebabe consider the progression of where music has gone. Back then there were a ton of great bands. There were fewer bad bands in the spotlight than there were good bands.
NOW. there's not a lot of talent anymore. So many new bands today have to cover songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s to have anything worth playing. Every rock band today sounds exactly the same. Some whiney kid brought up in the suburbs emo'ing about how much life sucks and how much you should care for his porblems. :)
@hootyhaha no dude i'm talking about him making fun of his peers. Even Metallica for instance who were big promoters of FNM in the early years. Or Rage Against the Machine who are good friends of Tool(who Fantomas are friends with). Its just strange he doesnt seem to care who has connections to who he will make fun of anyone.
@codebabe no i have to agree, he was so cute and funny, now he goes around with this cynical smirk and doesn't seem as fun and laid back, still love him but he's not the same
@astroswon I think there wasn't so much 'hate' as there was a lot of misunderstandings. Jim was afraid to veer too far out of his standard guitar-rock capabilities, whereas the rest of the band was all for sounding as little as possible like what anyone (including each other) would expect. Jim literally admitted that he could not play guitar to this band's songs after Mike joined, but I don't think it was because anything Mike or the rest of the band did on purpose.
Don't get confused. Jim and Mike have animosity here but it's easily managed by you: Perceptive Audiene

This band has always sucked. People actually like that song at 0:35? Ha, that sounded awful.

@codebabe Oh I got ya... maybe it's an inside badgering / joke between band mates? Like friends giving each other a hard time? I dunno...

@codebabe I always got the impression that he made fun of a lot more bands back then than he does now ... meh.
