As bizarre as this situation is, at least they're patient, good parents. They're not abusive or neglectful. These kids have plenty of food, shelter and a loving family.
Would I choose to have this big of a family? Absolutely not. Do I think they're wasting resources? Definitely. Are their religious ideas absurd? Yeah. But it could be worse for these children A LOT worse.

I think The Duggars seem like they are a close family and are an inspirational family I think Michelle and Jim Bob are great parents. I know many people may disagree with me but they are a really cool family and enjoy watching the show a lot. I don't know why people hate the Duggars so much. They seem pretty cool to me.

Sick. World population is going to tip 16 billion in 90 years. And they are proud of their "accomplishment" of 20 kids. It's like a cat that drags a dead mouse into the house and expects praise. And every single one of them is homeschooled by people that have very little education themselves. Has this family thought of the impact they're having on the world? 18 children is unhealthy for the family and for the earth. None of the children can possibly get enough attention or encouragement from their parents, and the world is overpopulated as it is. If they wish to do their duties for God, since they are obviously an extremely religious family, they should think about what they are doing for their kids and the world rather than gaining publicity for their own sake.

The US has the 3rd biggest population in the world. This family are from the US. This kind of thing doesn't happen accidentally - they had these many kids, despite easy access to contraception and family planning. You can't honestly believe that one family having 18 children isn't overpopulating the world, no matter what race they are.

This will mean more immigration of peoples that are alien to our way of life, our western culture and our notions of freedom and liberty. That’s what really worries me. Although I do think its crazy to have so many children, they all seem very well adjusted and happy.
