I like the idea but if we can't even own these new hybrids for a reasonable price, will this really be possible? Or will the price balloon out of control.
best concept ever. why did nobody come up with it before? if you watch the videos from japan on it you will get even more info. I have a petrol car at the moment but my next car is defenatly going to be an EV with this technology. ok atm we can only go about 120 miles with one battery, but this system will eradicate the problem. Plus as the battery power increases the time between charges will increase
It would be nice if it came equipped with a gps unit that could also locate the nearest battery swap center in time to do the swap, for longer drives.
I think they are incorporating that in. Take a look at the Tesla Model S. It has 17 in display for touch screen and navigation. I hope Tesla gets that DOE loan, so they can build their factory in SoCal.
This is how it will be. No question about it. Recharging batteries connected to a waiting car is senseless. This is the single innovation which will make electric car transportation viable.

This is incredibly practical. It would be nice to retain the home charging capabilities of current ev's as well as having this option.

This business model is interesting.
If it is sales of the body without the battery, it is likely to become very cheap.
