  • Is it just my screen, or is Edmond wearing pink?

  • please how can i watch pride and prejudice with english subtil

  • thanks alot

  • Absolutely loved it! I hope one day to have a love as strong as this. What a wonderful story and film. Thanks for posting!!!

  • I'M not exactly sure it liked it, may be becoz i watch jane eyre (2006) recently which so so deep!still i like period drama!

  • It was a good try ! But the combination of Jane Austen life and the Mansfield Park novel is very strange....

  • I always wondered if this novel was in any way inspired by an experience in Jane's life..

  • I love this version of Mansfield Park!

And I wish like most Woman, that there were more Edmond's in the world today

  • this is a good movie if you can forget about the book and just watch as its own story. the characters have completely different personalities from the book but very watchable.

  • Aww that was a really nice movie. I've been watching Jane Austen movies all weekend.

  • eeeeeeeeeh he he. yeah. that movie was a mess. Sorry, but I didn't think it was a good adaption of Austen's book. :P

  • As an adaptation this movie sucked big time, but as a movie on its own I confess it was very entertaining!

  • whos mr. yates?

  • @dolphinrider22 The guy that decided to put on the play in the first place...and the one who abandoned Thomas when he was ill, Nice enough chap I'm sure.

  • I haven't read the book, but it feels to me Edmond's feeling just suddenly grows from friendship to love. It's like "Oh, Mary's a b****, I should love Fanny." There's not enough care and intimacy as Emma has.

  • I like how Patricia Rozema made up a story, then stuck a familiar title on it so that people would go watch it. That's not to say I don't like this movie, it's just not deserving of the title, Mansfield Park. Jane Austen would be most heartily mortified by the changes that were made to her story.

  • First of all thank you so much for uploading it - I am watching it for my Jane Austen class and couldn't find it anywhere else!

Now: What the hell was that????? Weird lesbian undertones, Fanny accepting Henry (and yes I know it was supposed to mirror Jane Austen's real life acceptance and then next mornings refusal of a proposal, but it was out of place here and made me feel sorry for Henry), Henry's bizaare stare at Fanny when he was caught with Maria and Sir Thomas the psycho creeper rapist?

  • @DarklitPath gay tension? Between Miss Crawford and Fanny Price?

  • OMG .. this film is amazing ,, i loved Fanny character .. the way she thinks ... & not to mention Edmund he is soooo sweet ( & Handsome ;D )

  • I can't believe I haven't seen this movie before. Johnny Lee Miller is THE BEST Edmund I've seen so far. I love that the filmmakers chose to show what Austin only ever hinted at.

  • I like this version because it is almost as though Jane Austin's book was taking the same story but making a lot of incorrect assumptions about the characters motivations and feelings.

  • And with the customs of the time being so strict and idealistic, if real characters were going through a similar situation, who is to say that they wouldn't have had feelings like this story but justified them as Jane Austin's original characters did. "Oh no, I'm don't look down on you all for being terrible oppressive assholes. I'm just shy!"

  • Ok so Overall I liked the newer version better because it stayed closer to the book and the characters were much closer to them in the book, but wish some scenes frim this version were in the newer version

  • Become a fan of period drama movies on facebook :)

  • I find it amusing how Frances played the part of Fanny... :) idk y!

  • BORING

  • LOVE Susan!

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE IT <3 I LOVE IT <3 I LOVE IT <3

  • Its funny that she mentions he went is to tobaco..like it was a good thing.

nowhere days you are as much a murderer as a sigarette company as then a slave order.. how time changes..even Fanny's lesser evil is still evil.. :-)

  • I've always wondered if Susan married Tom. Susan is my favourite character in the book and in the movie (in fact, she is the ONLY character I like). I'd love to read a story about her becoming the mistress of Mansfield Park

  • Brilliant movie. Magnificantly done. Thank you so much for posting!!!

  • Please,I would like legends in Portuguese ( all films of great Jane Austen ).Thanks!

  • Wow, I'm glad I read the book first. This version totally botched it. The only thing I liked about it was Edmund. Susan was waaaayyyyy prettier than both Fanny and Maria combined in the version. I feel like that actress should've played Fanny instead.

  • what a great movie...may even make it to my favorites list :)

  • And yet another weird Mansfield Park version - better than the horrible 2007 version, but still just wrong in many respects. How come they managed to produce so many good versions of the other novels, but always slaughter Mansfield Park?

  • @Yrie27 Try the 1983 version, it stays true to the book, right till the last word and they've done a real good job! Though I love all 3 versions, that one's my favourite. :)

  • @lizwithdan I've been trying to find that one on the internet for ages! Any ideas?

  • I love this movie on it's own, but I don't like it as Mansfield park. Still a good movie though

  • I love susie. shes so cool and sweet

  • Although this version is a bit different from the book, this version is by far my favorite

  • The film in its self is beautiful but slightly choppy in the beginning but as an adaptation of Mansfield park not very true. But fanny in this seems like a perfect Lizzy. I love how they incorporate Jane austen' s other works. I wish it was it's own narrative

  • why cant men like the ones in jane austen novels be real ! i want my own edmond or mr. darcy !!!

  • Thanks for posting these videos really awesome! Will have to read the book now

  • Lol Mrs. Norris :D

  • If that tree fell down, the ground wold be torn up...

  • I really didn't like it!! I think the movie alone is good, but should not be even considered a adaptation, as it is so different from the book!!

They should have given it another name!

It seems to me that they used a well known book and author to give their movie a good background and call people's attention...

In short, good movie, bad choice of a name!

    Great actors!

  • @BelakaneBr Well, I like honest people. Thanks for your opinion and I don't mean to be patronizing. I mean it. I haven't read the book but I am one of those people who holds the book as the standard. Will have to find it. I did think this an excellent movie though. Especially when E tells that twirp off. Made it worthwhile. The other one I saw was ruined for me by the Fanny. She reminded me of the Joker in the Batman movie. Extended mouth. :) Just me. The Edmund was sweet. :)

  • That was the most WTF-iest adaptation I've ever seen. Thanks for posting...and I suppose that it was mostly entertaining if you didn't think of it as an adaptation of Mansfield Park....but my goodness. I appreciated the little shout-outs to Jane Austen's life, like the History of England and some of her quotes and things, but I wish they hadn't completely changed Fanny's character. As a shy girl, I kind of liked having a heroine who was quiet and passive and patient, yet strong on the inside.

  • The soundtrack to this movie is beautiful.

  • this was probably the best jane austen...film? i don't know how close it was to the book since i didn't read the book but i wish i had read the book but i guess the book would have been a slower burn but my goodness that was amazing! she stuck to what she knew was right and in the end got the man of her dreams...a man of character (and it dont hurt that he's handsome also). that's what i hope to do...God willing.

  • Thx 4 adding

  • it's not bad, but there are some inventions there...

  • I can't appreciate this as an adaptation of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park, but I do like it as its own story of Fanny and Edmund

  • Dommage que mon anglais laisse indésirée,j'aurai voulu le voir en version française,j'ai vu qu'il existe une version plus récente mais je préfère les acteurs de cette vidéo, Merci pour la vidéo <3

  • how many people predicted from part one that fanny would end up with edmund?? thumbs up.

  • I prefer the version from 2007. But I most say that I truely adore Jonny Lee Miller as Edmund, but mostly as Mr. Knightley in "Emma".

  • @nikkiree1994 idk i thought the 2007 one was much better but maybe i am just a sucker for happier stories?

  • Wow, I really did like the movie, but this last part just made it even better!!!!

The silent moments that tell you so much....wow really liked it!

  • Thanks for posting! This is my favorite adaptation of Mansfield Park..I did not enjoy the 2007 version as much. For those viewers who did not like: remember it is an adaptation...the only way to get the "perfect" adaptation is if Jane would return to life and create it herself. Thanks again. isabella 12

  • @Cp41gotsdaswagga The '86 version with LeTouzel and Farrell is a great adaptation. It's impossible to forget this abomination is supposed to be Austen. Rozema didn't adapt Mansfield Park; she arrogantly used it to make a bodice ripper political statement against slavery. It takes talent, insight, intelligence and vision to make great literature come alive on the screen. Doing Austen well is beyond Rozema, so she resorted to creepy, explicit sexuality and mutilating the story. Epic fail!

  • the old versions of the films are the best :)

  • i love when they just freeze and pose like that! supercool! ...I love this movie!

  • 10 percent of the profits!! how exciting.. NOT!

  • I enjoyed the movie for its own sake, but in several parts it didn't seem like Mansfield Park. Rather, it seemed like a somewhat similar story with characters of the same name, but with different, well, characters. Fanny wouldn't have accepted and then rejected Henry, because she would not have accepted him without thinking it through more. Edmund never realized his feelings for Fanny before his relationship with Mary ended, or he would have acted on them, &Sir Thomas was a good (misguided) man.

  • i know i"ll be shot for this, but i like to think Jane Austen would be content with this adaption, for parts of it at the very least.

beautiful movie, thank you for posting :)

  • Just......bad..

  • Sigh... tobacco. What a wonderful business.

  • After all the crap one had to put up with to get to the ending, it was worth it <3

  • What an entirely disrespectful, inaccurate adaptation. I'm truly sorry this was ever made. They should've called it something else.

  • the music in the credits is so haunting!!!

  • I like this version better than the 2007 version. Though, I'm not a big fan of this one either. I mean the movie's endurable but it's far from true to the book... I agree, though, Johnny Lee Miller suits every Austen man perfectly, but to me he'll always stay Mr Knightley...

  • jonny lee miller is perfect for all jane austen's novels....i absolutely adore him!!

  • Thank you for uploading!!!

  • I believe effusions is the correct term for this film. Effusions from the nether region.

  • lovely!

  • War ein schoener film...

  • 'thanks for posting this movie. I really enjoyed it. Just so many segments! :) The music at the end was very interesting...

  • It could have all turned out differently I suppose........ but it didn't :)

  • Thanks so much for posting! I prefer the 1986 mini-series but I really wanted to see this one. Somehow the portrayal of Fanny was all wrong, but it was entertaining. So, thanks again!

  • Fanny is not bright, nor "Swuft" as Mother would say. This adaptation is sooo wrong, but sooo good. :-)

  • I love the ending to this one, especially because there's no silly dance at the end. Also I wish there was a sequel about Tom and Susan getting it on.....

  • I'm a little lost. They were selling sex?? Or like old fason porn? Or was that not very important part???

  • @stongerthenlove No, they were in the slave trading bissuness and the slave traders would rape the african women. Tom was drawing what he saw and the bissuness his father was in. That's why Fanny was so shocked at the last picture, it was of Sir Thomas hurting a slave. He said "My son is mad!" because he was ashamed and in denial.

  • Thanks 4 putting this up!! I absolutely loved it!! Even though it was not word 4word on Austen it was much more delightful than that dreary 2007 version that put me to sleep.

  • I don't care if this wasn't very faithful to the book...I still loved it.

  • Again I say Brilliantlly written ...rewritten in screenplay format and further yet interpreted for the screen ...I ♥'d it on so many levels

    thank you agsin for sharing

  • Thank you for posting this! Ive watched the 2007 version too. I must say I happen to like the confession of love better in the 2007 one..the realization came to him so sudden and strong. XP This was a good adaptation, I liked it!

  • I could not believe the wonderful book that I read did not match this movie at all. It seems like it was rewritten the way they wanted it to go. Fanny loved William, her brother more than Susan. The beginning flew by so quickly and the end drawn out. I am grateful to watch it though. thnx.

  • WOW... I thought I was seeing double...

But as I checked the credits Lindsay Duncan did indeed play both Lady Bertrum and Fanny' mother... She also plays Lady Catheruine de Burgh in 'Lost in Austen' extremely well.. What a fantastic astress she is... Happy me.. Johnny Lee Miller again for my eyes to delight upon... :0)x

  • Wonderful film - so much more than just a love story. Empire and the winds of change. Some things still stay the same, though, all due to human nature.

  • I think this movie highlighted slavery in the early 1800's perfectly, it made it very clear how people were just as innocent as they were ignorant to the whole thing. I don't think that anyone from that time would every suspect a black person becomming more than a slave, and for now to have a black president? It shows we really have come a very very long way. As for those who still think black people are below them, it suggests you have the mind of an insensitive early 1800's drunktard rapist.

  • @Emilydasmexy Faggot comment there Mimi

  • @Emilydasmexy Yes, the only minute good that the inexperienced, vacillating, self-absorbed, secretive wimp that this country mistakenly put in the White House is that he is some sort of symbol about 'how far we've all come'. I think he IS such a symbol, but not nearly in the same way you do.

  • @Emilydasmexy I kind of expected your last comment to follow your first.

Ignorant about the whole thing. That does create a lot of problems. In fact the origin of so many.

(and don't bother swearing at me)

  • @Emilydasmexy It could have all stayed the same, but it didn't :)

but there are still slaves, and things to improve.. .. I wonder what the future holds..

    I hope many delightfull things..for all :)

  • @Emilydasmexy yes you are awesome.

  • @Emilydasmexy if you must pick on racism, you must also pick on the rest of it. cultural and religious differences that tear people apart. class differences also. most people are as retarded now as they were 200 years ago and even 2000 years ago. it truly is sad that we have forgotten what togetherness truly means. so sad indeed. we are all hypocrites in one way or another...and those of us who believe that heaven is a step above true love in this life are deluded. nothing could outweigh it. <3

  • Thank you for posting this movie! I enjoyed watching it, though I had to keep reminding myself not to compare it with the book.

  • My first time to see this movie. And I simply love it! Thank you for posting this up. =D

  • lol... the pug's like... wha- why's everyone freezing...whats going on...am i supposed to-what? im supposed to freeze too? woops too late

  • mr Thomas free himself from raping slaves in Antigua.. by pursuing tobacco ..lovely ending

  • thanks for the upload!

  • i love how the only the dog's head is moving when they're all still... anyway, great movie! :)

  • Love this movie!!

  • thanx for letting us see such marvelous adoption of the novel!!!!

  • If Sir Thomas was trying to remove himself from the evils of slavery, going into tobacco speculation in 1806 was not the way to go. Just sayin'.

  • An excellent production. I enjoyed every minute.

  • Loved this version! Thank you for posting.

  • I enjoyed this so much. Thank you!!!

  • Thank you for posting!

    Thak you ***VERY*** much.

  • I like the both movies, but none of them, not 1999 nor 2007, is even close to what Jane Austen wrote... Fanny is not like that and not like in the version of 2007. She is angellike, shy, very ladylike and thankful. So, I suppose I have to think the right actors and movie just in my mind and imagination...

  • I couldn't stop watching from the beginning to end, thank you very much for posting, yes it is much better than 2007!! I like this film and enjoyed lots! I wish I wached this version before I bought DVD 2007 version... I prefer this one!!!

  • AHH!!! The best Movie in the world definatly made my top 3

lol of course pride and prejudice is my first and sense and sensibiliy is my 2nd favorite lol but its such a good movie now on to watch emma lol

  • what is the song that plays at the beginning of the credits? it's great

  • haha she publishes exactly like jane austen did. in the end i liked this version much better than the 2007 one two. and i've watched them back to back. at first i thought i wasn't going to, but this one is much better. though i could have done with out all the slavery references. they weren't in the book and i don't see that it really added to the plot. we had enough drama with mary and crawford sleeping together and such.

  • The references to the slave trade provided Fanny with something to hold up to her experience as a servant to the Bertrams. When Sir Thomas offered her hand in marriage to Henry Crawford, she definitely felt like she was in an inferior position as a woman but also as a servant traded off between people of a higher rank. I am constantly reminded of how she told Edmund that she would not be treated like a slave. It is another interest twist the director took in this version.

  • @girlscout96396 You mean Maria and Crawford? Just thought I'd correct that, because leaving it uncorrected is, well, incest. =\

I myself liked the slave trade references...the original 'Mansfield Park' I found petty and suffocating, but the slave trade dimension gives it, and Fanny, a whole new perspective.

  • @chizzieshark you are correct. maria, forgive my misspelling.

  • Scintillating!

  • *sigh* If only love was as such.

  • Just watched 2007 version... Badly done, very very badly... This one is so much better!!!!!!!!!

  • what?! are you trying to be mr. knightley? hehehe

  • Thank you so so much for posting this!!!!!!!! i loved a movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now going to watch 2007 version to compare.

  • great!!! Fanny's sister has a chance at a real life now...wooohooo

  • I LOVE suzy!!! Thank you so much for posting!!! I <3 Edmond!!!!!!!

  • amazing!

  • i want the musiiiiic =O

  • thank you a milion times u made my day :D

  • I can't get enough of this movie, thanks for putting it up!!! I have a copy but when I'm traveling it's so nice to be able to have it on my comp without thinking about carrying around a dvd and potentially losing it. =D

  • Thank you for posting!! I watched this version after watching the 2007 version, and must say, that this one is very much more true. And Edmund (JLM) is very endearing.

  • I had been puttin off watching 'Mansfield Park" for some time now but i can truly say i LOVED it !!!

Oh my Johnny Lee Miller *Sigh* !!!

Great as Edmund Bertram and Mr. Knightleya!

  • Thank you for posting. Now, I have seen this version and the 2007 version and I must say this one is better than the 2007 version. Still don't know what to make of this one, but it was good. I like Jonny Lee Miller. He is a good Edmund Bertram and George Knightley. Excellent actor.

  • @nikkiree1994 do you have the link of 2007?

  • @carlaemilianazario I saw the 2007 one on television a couple of years ago. But, I did find it on youtube. I will send you the link. Check your inbox. :-)

  • @nikkiree1994 thanks :D

  • @nikkiree1994 I agree, this one is better than the 2007 one.

  • @Tygrfawn78 =)

  • @nikkiree1994 I had liked both equally but new version edmund was the hottest! although I guess the proposal scene on old version was much better , it was fenominal

  • @Ubriaco100 I also think Blake Ritson is hotter as Edmund in the 2007 version, but I like Jonny Lee Miller overall, if that makes sense? LOL The proposal in this one was better than 2007.

  • @nikkiree1994 I thought he was a awful Mr Knightley... That version of Emma was so bad. The acting was terrible. But I have to say Jonny Lee Miller was good in this.

  • @101Sesshomaru Noooo! LOL... I love the latest Emma. I thought the acting, cinematography, costumes, etc were so well done. But it is good to agree to disagree, but we do agree fully that JLM was good in this. =)

  • @nikkiree1994 Agreed. I tried watching the 2007 version, got maybe 15 minutes in and had to turn if off.

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • that was... fantastic:)

  • Thank you for posting

  • ????!!

I thought it was a perfect ending!

  • Didn't like the ending but oh well. I need to see the 2007 one with BILLIE PIPER now!!!! Still can't get over that

  • hmm.. didnt turn out the way i was hoping but i guess thats how they mostly end up kinda wish i didnt stay up late to watch it xD

  • Thanks for posting this movie! you are a life saver =]

  • Thanks ive been looking for this movie forever but i forgot the name, thanks again!

  • Thank u for posting it !!! I loved it

    it was amazing!

  • Thank you for posting! I enjoyed it!

  • thanks so much for uploading! i LOVED this! fanny is much smarter (and surer of herself) and edmund much a nicer person than in the book. also the whole issue with the slaves is pretty good :0

i feel sorry for maria, though, she's so unlucky. if they had made her as evil as in the book i'd feel much better about her ending up the way she did.

  • I'm kinda thinking, what if Tom Bertram married Susan Price? Their situations at the end make it possible.

  • Now that'd be a book or film I'd like to see/watch

  • There is! Read Mansfield Revisited by Joan Aiken! It's pretty good.

  • OOOO thanks! *runs off to buy*

  • thank you for posting!

  • i kinda wish fanny had married Mr. Crawford cause in the book Edmund is a real prig! I like him in the movie though

  • aww, that was a sweet movie. i can't help but feel sorry for mr crawford, though...

  • jonny lee miller is, as usual, amazing. gorgeouss

  • thanks for posting this!

  • Edmund is CUUUUUUUTE ;)

  • this movie was AWESOME...i think im in love with edmund..haha soo handsome

  • I can never get through this movie without crying - thanks for posting!

  • It was ok, but i think the 2007 version is much better than this one

  • As a movie I loved it, but as Mansfield Park it just annoyed me. It strays too far from the book. If it had a different name I could have enjoyed it more, haha

  • I enjoyed it very much indeed :) Thank you mansfieldparkmovie!

  • I enjoyed this adaptation of Mansfield Park for its modern take. However, as a piece of Jane Austen I was exceedingly disapointed. I should like to see a more true version than this one.

  • Hmm.. That was ok, but the bit about Mr Bertram was unnecessary. Poor Mr Bertram.

  • great pleasure to watch, its nice she ends on the fantasy of publishing...
