Did Lu Chen trespass any of the Berglas Effect's restrictions? The performance qualifies as the "true" Berglas Effect as long as all the criteria are met. Remember, we're concerned about the effect, not the trick itself.

Definitely not a Berglas Effect. Probably the magician is just telling them that it's Berglas, just a part of his patter. It's not even close to Berglas Effect. The extra deck cutting is more of a Svengali trick. Nice patter but you can't fool magicians especially professional once. Even amateur magicians know it's svengali rather than Berglas... But nice patter. It took him like 6 minutes to finish the trick. Whew!!! Got bored there for awhile.

Of course, he doesn't know, or at least doesn't follow, rule number 1 in magic, so he's not a magician, and he lacks true understanding.
