WOW....I am shocked. On one hand I can understand where he's coming from but on the other hand that was just insensitive of an elected official. He really shouldn't be singling out criminals by hair styles and such. Although, I do think he has a point with the crime in the black community. It's sad to see someone murdered just about everyday in New Orleans. The problems stem from the social enviroment of the community, their needs to be more programs geared at helping these kids develop skills.

I've been living, now, in Denver, CO for almost 4 years now and feel much safer. I've decided to leave after Katrina happened because where I lived, in the suburbs of the westbank, the hoodlums started taking over, from urban housing developments of New Orleans city. Crime on the westbank was not as bad as it is in NOLA....until "they" took over. I left the state because I couldn't take it anymore. Not ALL New Orleanians are immoral though, but unfortunately most are, from what I've seen.

I am an African American from Louisiana and sad to state, but this sheriff is hands down CORRECT on everything he has said. I agree with him whole heartedly. Keep the trash where it belongs....in the trash bin (the urban developments). I don't like to stereotype, but lets face it, New Orleans officials really DO, like this guy in the video stated, coddle their criminals. I have seen NUMEROUS of the same criminals back on the streets after being proven guilty of MURDER.

Oh please, One of the reasons N.O has so much violent crime is because there aren't ENOUGH guys like this sheriff! Good job Sheriff Strain! Instead, we have a N.O. mayor who proudly proclaims N.O. a "'chocholate city", (sounds racist to me) and a strong ACLU,(American Communist party with a different name) presence which only hinders any chance of fighting crime in a hopelessly liberal, socialist, 3rd world, banana republic that is New Orleans- you might as well live in Haiti!

People like him are always downing places like New Orleans and its people, but you'll see the things that go behind closed doors of these so-called nice neighborhoods. There's wife-beating, incest, drugs, drunks, gamblers, and a host of other crimes and problem in those nice, clean-looking homes. The cops are more crooked than the ones in big cities, having that KKK mentality. They may look clean and friendly on the outside, but behind those closed doors is a different story. Phonies!

i have been convicted twice in st tammany parish of dui's and both were not neccisary. i got pulled over in my own driveway in beau chene neighborhood(gated community) for a dui after drinking three beers. something aint right here. these cops work off the reward system not quotas. for every dui or drug bust they make a certain percent from the fine the state gets gets goes in the cops paycheck. more bust more money for the cops.something aint right here. all warnings are thrown out the window.

i was in jail when katrina came rite they was suppost 2 get all the inmates outta there but no they failed 2 do so... they fed up 1 peanut butta n jelly samich n a lil ole cup of hot water n thats it while they sat up n ate shrip n stake n shit like that gettin money from da gov. n they lied n told the fema ppl that all the inmates where transported... bullshit fuck em... fuck em all nothin but money hungry pigs
