  • Simply amazing! I love your works! :)

  • @GohoTheEater Thank you very much!

  • incredible !

  • @leoprisionero Thank you!

  • i wish i could play the piano. it seems like every song can be played on the piano and it still sounds good.

  • @TheWhiteDreamsOfLife Thank you - in a way, that's true. It's never too late to learn!

  • In my great, great ignorance, your interpretation reminds me of Satie. Very well done sir.

  • @05carsm Thank you very much for that. I don' t think that you comment is ignorant at all!

  • please just let me know what those two off beat chords are, they are incredible!

  • @HarryBlufc91 Alas I no longer have the sheet music to check - I borrowed it from a library to make the video!

  • @PSearPianist Oh well! you are a champ, keep up the good work :)

  • Sir greatest!!! thanks for upload this music. It`s really an angel`s music. Thanks sir. God bless your hands.

  • @Budafraile Thank you for that!

  • The 4th chord in the bridge takes my breath away.

  • @mopatkane Thank you!

  • I would kill for the sheet music, such a beautiful song. It's such a shame you played it so fast, the slow tempo is so important for this piece.

    Jamie

  • @jamzdrumz141 Sometimes you need to adjust the tempo in a piano arrangement to make it sound OK. Although I had listened to the soundtrack first, I did not necessarily set out to clone it. The sheet music is in a book called 'Essential Film Themes 2' - search and you will find it.

  • Hey can u please sent that music sheet to me ?

  • @oommy1829 I no longer have it - I used a library copy!

  • A little bit too fast, but wonderful nonetheless!

  • @IsisStarlights Thanks - next time I may play it slower!

  • beautiful.

  • @chinosvoice Thank you!

  • fucking....awesome....

  • hello !!!!!! HO please ! I really really hope you'll read this message !

i'm looking for the piano tablature of this song. Can you send it to me, or tell me where I can find it ???

thank you ! So so good sound. I prefer the piano version !

  • @mimidudu700 It is in one of the 'Essential Film Themes' books published by Musicsales. I can't remember which volume, but if you do a search on Musicroom you will find it - there is a list of contents there for each volume.

  • @mimidudu700 Essential Film Theme - Volume 2

  • Sounds good!

  • @blueday14 Thank you!

  • I really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing. I come at "classical," insofar as I understand the term, from the direction of the "modern." But I think beauty transcends all that, and it was nice to hear someone take what I consider a sterling piece of electronica and play it beautifully with one of the traditional instruments. Thanks again.

  • @mcmiljr Thank you. I think a lot of credit should go to the anonymous arranger.

  • VERY nice Brothra,,,,

  • @bunksupplement Thank you!

  • Excellent Phillip. Thank you.

  • @belief1994 And thank you for your kind comment!

  • Very nice rendition. Thanks for posting.

  • @EnglishRyan That's a pleasure!

  • good! but mutch SLOWER!!!!!

  • FASTER!

  • @copyvio Do you mean that this is faster than the soundtrack (which it probably is) or that I should play it faster?

  • @PSearPianist I think the way you played it sounds very, very nice. Would love an MP3 download of it if you've made it available.

  • Great! Really enjoyed it! - Thanks very much for the time & effort to make this video, and of course play the piano!

  • @Chrisno150 Thanks for your very kind comment!

  • Nice play! Always love AIR .where did u get the sheet? write it by urself?

  • @elgatoo2010 Thank you! The sheet music was in a compilation of film themes in the Musicsales 'Essential Film Themes' series. Google that to find the details.

  • AIR forever

  • I like it. Would be nicer if you play it slower...

  • i just can say wonderful !

i like the sound of the piano

  • Thanks very much!

  • it will sound good if slowed down a bit.

  • You are by no means the first to make that comment. I guess I adjusted the speed for, amongst other things, the different sound of a solo piano as opposed to the electronica on the OST.

  • I wish I could do that. Nicely done.

  • Thank you very much!

  • divine!

  • That's very kind indeed!

  • ohh well tht sux

  • hey im a upcoming pianist im pretty good but do u mind making a tutorial for me? or the other veiwers atleast? also maybe if u slowed it down a bit it would be perfect k hope u can peace

  • Thank you for your comment. I'm afraid that I do not have the equipment to make tutorials - and I am not a piano teacher, so I would probably not do it very well. Aslo, I no longer have the sheet music, which I borrowed from a library to make the video!

  • very cool

  • Thanks!

  • Oh wow, that is just amazing. Very well done.

  • Thank you very much!

  • Would love to hear it at a slower pace. Sounds very nice as is, but I think if played in slower time, would make for perfect study/sleep music. Well done.

  • Thank you. Maybe one day I will rerecord it slower - but this seemed to right speed to me at the time I did it!

  • very calming

    thanks and greetings from germany!

i absolutely adore air though they were more famous when i was a child

  • Thank you very much!

  • very mature techniques, bit fast.

  • Thank you. Sometimes, rightly or wrongly, one feels the need to alter the speed when playing piano solo versions of ensemble or electronic pieces to adjust for the different instrument, acoustic etc.

  • @PSearPianist hello were can i get the sheet music please thank you

  • It is published in 'Essential Film Themes 2' which you should be able to get via a library if you don't want to buy it (I played from a library copy and do not actually have a score now).

  • @ladiesman8521 yeah littile slower would be perfect

  • wow, that is absolutely beautiful thank you very much

  • Thanks - I'm glad you liked it!

  • OH my goodness, I didn't know there was a piano version...beautiful! I need to get my hands on the music!

  • Thank you. If you look through the previous comments I have given details of the book this arrangement appears in.

  • An excellent song and a beautiful performance. Awesome.

  • Thank you for that!

  • amazing. i wish i can download this into my ipod! do you happen to record an mp3 for this? just trying my luck...

  • There is not a separate MP3, but I think there is free software around that would enable you to download the video and rip the sound off as an MP3. Remember that my sound is nowhere near-CD quality!

  • Like your version of it!

  • Thank you for that!

  • were do you get the sheet music to play this?

  • It is published in 'Essential Film Themes 2' which is published by Musicsales (I played from a library copy and do not actually have a score now).

  • Wonderful version.

  • Thank you!

  • Tempo is a little too accelerated. But good musicianship.

  • Thank you. I admit to a little artistic license with the tempo - but I had to play it at a speed that sounded right to me on piano at the time!

  • Really fantastic version of this song. Watched Lost in translation again last night and forgot how amazing the soundtrack is.

  • Thank you - I'm glad it did not seem too different from the 'real thing'!

  • i will transcribe the notes from your version . Perfect cover great playing. cheers

  • Thank you! You might save time by getting the 'Essential Film Themes 2' piano book from which I played for this video.

  • I love your performing of my favourite song. The sound is full, your ten fingers did a very good job. Bravo !!!

  • Thank you very much. Some viewers have found it too fast, but I guess I might have adjusted the tempo to suit the instrument.

  • There's something ultimately comforting/inspiring about this. Love this song, and I think you're ridiculously talented. Thank you for sharing!

  • Thanks very much for your most kind comment - I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • It was late when I watched this video, and even later by the time I finished watching it over and over. It is so beautiful! May I query where obtained the sheetmusic? That video was a joy to watch so thank you!

  • Thank you - I'm glad you enjoyed it. Have a look at the answer to an earlier comment for details of where I got the sheet music!

  • Great cover, only a lot faster tempo then the original.

  • Thank you. Several people have said that - but at the time I made the video this seemed the right tempo for me to play it as a piano solo.

  • No worries, every person adds their personal touch :)

  • Wow, one of the best track on the ost... Really, really good performance

  • Thanks very much!

  • Really, really good.

  • Thank you!

  • It sounds wonderful!!! I L-O-V-E it! ;)

  • That's really kind. Thank you!

  • Excellent cover! It sounds great. :)

  • Thank you for that!

  • In the sheet music it says: tempo 90 bpm, but this is played like 115 bpm and that is too fast. Try playing it with a metronome to keep the tempo steady and correct. Despite that, nice playing and really relaxing song.

  • You are quite right about the tempo marking - but I thought it needed to go a little faster to sound sensible on piano (rather than the electronica on the soundtrack).

  • way to fast

  • could you send me the piano sheet music to

    fpsasm @ yahoo . com

    cheers

  • It is published in 'Essential Film Themes 2' which you should be able to get via a library if you don't want to buy it (I played from a library copy and do not actually have a score now).

  • hi i love ur piano version im trying to learn it at the moment i can learn a lot from ur video as i play by ear. do u have any plans to make a tutorial?

  • Thanks for your kind comment. I am not actually a teacher, and would not know how to do tutorials (I could probably not get the right camera angle to do that!).

  • it is too fast!!! i like other versions much better!!!

  • Thanks for your comment. I can't imagine it working at a slower speed as a piano solo. Maybe I could have done the ending a bit slower.

  • Different but very nice nonetheless.

  • I'm glad you liked it. On the soundtrack there is a lot of electronica, so, although the notes are the same, the sound is bound to be different. Nevertheless this is a valid arrangement and worth playing, I think.

  • Sounded fairly speedy, but I don't play piano. I liked the ending it was right on the money.

    Thank you.

  • Thanks for your kind comment.

  • Andante, this is far too fast.

  • I am pretty sure this is about the speed it goes on the OST - but I may be wrong!

  • your tempo is quicker but it is still perfectly played

  • Thank you - I hope the piece permits some interpretative licence!

  • I'm not complaining :D its nice to hear different variations of songs

  • It's still played nicely, just little faster than it should be. The original version is by two French composers who form the band AIR, Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel. The song/composition is called Alone in Kyoto. It's a beautiful piece.

  • wonderful

  • Thank you!

  • amazing!

  • Thank you!

  • Thanks a lot

I just found the sheet music, but I think it is too complicated for me...

  • I have to admit I had to listen to the soundtrack and do a little practice to make this video!

  • were did you get the sheet music, please let me know, many thanks

  • It is published in a compilation called 'Essential Film Themes 2' - check with musicsales website.

  • That's amazing :(

I wish I had the sheetmusic!

  • If you look at my answer to a previous comment, you will see the name of the book it is printed in.

    I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • wow ! this is so nice !

  • Thank you!

  • Truly wonderful, Im a great admirer of your playing particular of the Yann Tiersen pieces.

  • That's really kind - thank you very much!

  • Фантастика, у вас более 600 видео. Классно! Вы очень талантливый человек. Спасибо большое!

  • Спасибо за ваш комментарий. Я работал много часов на моих 600 видео - но я изучил фортепьяно более чем 45 лет!

  • It sounds fantastic!! Incredible piece!!

    Good job, as always!

  • Thank you!

  • I adore Air, this is a beautiful and well executed cover, you've done the band justice. Can I ask where you got the sheet music?

  • It is published in 'Essential Film Themes 2' which you should be able to get via a library if you don't want to buy it (I played from a library copy). It is a good cover, and makes me want to hear more of Air's work!

  • It does (work in its own right). Very nice.

  • I'm glad you agree!

  • Very surprising choice!!!

    Wonderful!!

  • Thank you!
