@jamzdrumz141 Sometimes you need to adjust the tempo in a piano arrangement to make it sound OK. Although I had listened to the soundtrack first, I did not necessarily set out to clone it. The sheet music is in a book called 'Essential Film Themes 2' - search and you will find it.
@mimidudu700 It is in one of the 'Essential Film Themes' books published by Musicsales. I can't remember which volume, but if you do a search on Musicroom you will find it - there is a list of contents there for each volume.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing. I come at "classical," insofar as I understand the term, from the direction of the "modern." But I think beauty transcends all that, and it was nice to hear someone take what I consider a sterling piece of electronica and play it beautifully with one of the traditional instruments. Thanks again.
@elgatoo2010 Thank you! The sheet music was in a compilation of film themes in the Musicsales 'Essential Film Themes' series. Google that to find the details.
You are by no means the first to make that comment. I guess I adjusted the speed for, amongst other things, the different sound of a solo piano as opposed to the electronica on the OST.
hey im a upcoming pianist im pretty good but do u mind making a tutorial for me? or the other veiwers atleast? also maybe if u slowed it down a bit it would be perfect k hope u can peace
Thank you for your comment. I'm afraid that I do not have the equipment to make tutorials - and I am not a piano teacher, so I would probably not do it very well. Aslo, I no longer have the sheet music, which I borrowed from a library to make the video!
Would love to hear it at a slower pace. Sounds very nice as is, but I think if played in slower time, would make for perfect study/sleep music. Well done.
Thank you. Sometimes, rightly or wrongly, one feels the need to alter the speed when playing piano solo versions of ensemble or electronic pieces to adjust for the different instrument, acoustic etc.
It is published in 'Essential Film Themes 2' which you should be able to get via a library if you don't want to buy it (I played from a library copy and do not actually have a score now).
There is not a separate MP3, but I think there is free software around that would enable you to download the video and rip the sound off as an MP3. Remember that my sound is nowhere near-CD quality!
It was late when I watched this video, and even later by the time I finished watching it over and over. It is so beautiful! May I query where obtained the sheetmusic? That video was a joy to watch so thank you!
In the sheet music it says: tempo 90 bpm, but this is played like 115 bpm and that is too fast. Try playing it with a metronome to keep the tempo steady and correct. Despite that, nice playing and really relaxing song.
You are quite right about the tempo marking - but I thought it needed to go a little faster to sound sensible on piano (rather than the electronica on the soundtrack).

hi i love ur piano version im trying to learn it at the moment i can learn a lot from ur video as i play by ear. do u have any plans to make a tutorial?
Thanks for your kind comment. I am not actually a teacher, and would not know how to do tutorials (I could probably not get the right camera angle to do that!).
I'm glad you liked it. On the soundtrack there is a lot of electronica, so, although the notes are the same, the sound is bound to be different. Nevertheless this is a valid arrangement and worth playing, I think.
It's still played nicely, just little faster than it should be. The original version is by two French composers who form the band AIR, Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel. The song/composition is called Alone in Kyoto. It's a beautiful piece.
