That's a tough call b/c there is a pro and con to each way. It's nice to have your plate removed when you are the diner who has finished your meal. However, when that happens, it makes those who are still eating feel rushed or dining alone.
indeed, thats new for me, I read that the right position was putting ur knife and fork placed on the upper side of the plate on opposite directions. is that correct?
It's better to put the knife and fork in an X on the table as opposed to on your plate. Or stand them in an empty wine glass, being careful to leave the handles facing up.

My wife gets annoyed when servers try to remove the plates from a diner that has finished, while others are still eating.
