The South did not want to immediately end Slavery, but it was not good for their economy because only 3% of Southerners owned slaves and while it made slave owners rich it made everyone else poor. The rest of the citizens wanted to *slowly* rid their society of it. I get this from my history book that is sitting right here in my lap. Educate yourself, sweetheart.

@ColibriAnna08 doest matter how you try and twist it the swastika has zero to do with egypt. show me just one artifact where a swastika is in a wall, papyrus or statue!!! and again you are dead wrong on the south. it needed slavery which is why it had millions of slaves and after england outlawed it on the seas even a person 1/8 black could be a slave. take the red pill.

@Steadno I'm not trying to twist anything! The Swastika appears in Egypt a few centuries past BC. The South did not *need* slavery! Only 3% of the Southern citizens were slave owners. Only a few rich families owned thousands of acres while the rest of the citizens scrapped a living off much smaller and humble crops. You are a fountain of misinformation! Are you telling me I should take your word over my history books, written by a board of scholars and educators? Please!
