  • I was looking for the one by Blush!!!!!

  • @MarkFomAlbany totally agree and was a product of divorce and being raised roman catholic. this song gave me hope that 1 day I would fly up up and away

  • I hate this song in a very special way. I used to wait tables at Red Lobster...this song made it an extra special Hell for me.

  • I looked this video up to prove to my girlfriend that the lyrics were "up up and away my unicorn". I was proved wrong.

  • One of several naively optimistic and musically dated Pop songs from my childhood which still haunt my psyche. Such songs were all over the place then, helping me believe the world was all sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows... as my parents divorced and I was raised in a dysfunctional home (although I didn't know it then). This kind of child-like optimism and care-free happiness is long gone, alas.

  • @MarkFomAlbany So you're not suspended in a twilight canopy then?

  • is the same music of the cell Alan Harper Lol'

  • I'll make sure this song is playing if I ever do nitrous again.

  • where is kenny rodgers?

  • @flossflink bwahahahaha, that's the first edition you want.

  • In my beautiful balloon... this song made me dream to ride in a hot-air balloon!!

  • Simon Lane you are the reason why this song is stuck in my head.

  • They were lip-syncing the song. I am absolutely certain of it. I played a vinyl recording along with the video and was able to syncronize the audio with the video and the mouths matched perfectly. So they were lip-syncing the song.

  • @kwilliamsjr everyone did on tv back then

  • @kwilliamsjr most tv appearances were lip synched - or sung over a pre recorded track due to tv sound tech requirements

  • This song reminds me of Carlton from Fresh Prince lol...he was dancing to it on the episode where Will's date ended up liking him

  • Damn, really loving Kid Cudi''s verse on this track! Truly a genius!

  • Thumbs up if Alan's (2 & 1/2 men) phone ring brought u here !

  • not to sound racist but why don't black people sing like this anymore?

  • Como o pessoal era estranho antigamente ahussuah

  • ALAN HARPER RING TONE LOL

  • I still don't understand why the people who own YouTube haven't fixed that stupid red upside down thumbs up glitch yet. P.S. Thank you Simon from the Yogscast for bringing me here!

  • Oh this makes me think of a gorgious evening night departing JFK Terminal 5 on a TWA 747 to Paris after a few cocktails with Ms. Liza with a Z at the Lisbon Lounge!

  • Thhis song made me volunteer for service in Vietnam.

  • @logibear64 Obviously, the enemy didn't put you out of your misery.

  • The Guy with the goatee reminds me of Pavarotti ... a blk Pavarotti. (BTW I'm black so no need for angry comments) lol

  • @phoenixxx7771 You're closer than you realize. Ron Townson was also an accomplished opera singer.

  • @theDeckisStacked It has been a pleasure communicating with you in this global film projection from the Georgian year of 1967!!

  • THUMBS UP if you are here for alan harper's ringtone too.

  • LoL

  • Oh my lord! The gal at screen right at 2:00 mins in doing that ungilating thing with her hips.... made me go up up and away!

  • Carlton has danced to the beginning to this song from fresh Prince lol

  • Such a beautiful song and beautiful people with artistic quality

  • Such a nice wonderful song. It's shame that good music like this doesn't exist anymore. Now everything is crap for music, just look at MTV and VH1 nothing but immoral reality shows and horrible trash music.

  • It was also a TWA airlines commercial.

  • Allen Harper FTW

  • A really relaxing gem of a song,, really does take me away!!!!

  • @MultiChristinaD I agree, it's a shame that music isn't good anymore like this.

  • @Suspiria10 Great point, oldies are ALWAYS goodies!!!!!

  • LOVE IT....TWA also used this as their theme song

  • Comment removed

  • Thumbs up if simon from the yogscast brought you here :D

  • @vidEOkid12345 he was doing the version from Prodigy (hot ride).

  • @vidEOkid12345

Them and a few others brought me here :P

I heard this song for the first time coincidentally about a week before they mentioned it and then suddenly I kept seeing references to it and now here I am.

  • Good gods, I'm six years old again.

  • Simon's version is better! (Yogscast)

  • @xxBabyxButlerxx he was singing the version from Prodigy, there version is called Hot Ride..:)

  • wtf I look for Kid Cudi and this is what I get...

  • @burrb0y ah man, dont make it sound like a bad thing! He probably has a song with this sampled!

  • @rustyjonesjr Exactly, not a bad thing. I love the 5th Dimension. They're so.......white. LOL

  • thumbs up if Honeydew brought u here

  • @Berserkaroid how did he bring you here lol xD

  • @Magneset cause he sang it in the latest video haha

  • Simon(honeydew) brought me here :D

  • Yogs

  • What a beautiful song. They sang: The worlds a nicer place in my beautiful balloon. We can sail along the silver sky. FOR WE CAN FLY! African American media execs, I beg you to stop celebrating degenerate ghetto culture. The future of your race is at stake.

  • @endgammer I agree lol. I wonder if blacks in those days ever thought how degenerate they would become. I bet MLK is rolling in his grave.

  • @endgammer

FUCK YOU CRACKER YOUR RACE IS BUNCH OF DEGENERATE WHORES !!

  • @TheNewsoul2 thx

  • Seemz weev straid frum the poynt. I for one loved this video.

  • I don't think that there was a variety show in the US that this brilliant group did not appear on back in the day. I was a little boy, but I still remember seeing them - and loving their music - on every evenning "special" (remember "specials?") and variety show. (Remember "variety shows?!")

  • @arkady714 You are so right about those shows. Remember Hollywood Palace, Ed Sulllivan, Dean Martin shows. Too bad they don't have them anymore, but then again, groups like this don't exist anymore.

  • @babylove410 Deam Martin, Flip Wilson, Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett. Risque stuff like The Smothers Brothers. Short ived ones like Rich Little, Joey Bishop, Jerry Lewis. Even musical acts had their day; The Sonny & Cher.Comedy Hour, The Captain & Tenille, Donny & Marie (for every girl teeny bopper of the 70s) and the final one, Tony Orlando & Dawn. TV evolves, I guess. Call me old, but shows today lack the warmth that variety shows and specials gave the country.

  • 11 people don't like balloons, or never had balloons.

  • OMG never realised they were all black.

  • @dirtydonki , neither did I. that puts a whole new spin on this song, being written and sung during THAT time period.

  • @dirtydonki

    LOL I know...we're full of surprises! :)

  • @theDeckisStacked I go to school in San Diego don't ask me why I really don't know it's my parent's on budget issues when they moved in 2001.

  • @theDeckisStacked The wealthiest man in the world Carlos Slim lives in Mexico city.

  • @theDeckisStacked @theDeckisStacked Did really you think that i'm the offspring of Felipe Calderon? I lived in a small city that is developing called Playas de Rosarito in Baja California it's growing rapidly in commerce they even built a Walmart. it's predicted that Mexico (in the year 2050) will become the 5th largest economy. I really want to go to Mexico City it's the 3rd largest city in the world it's even surpassed New York 20 years ago.

  • UP UP AND AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @theDeckisStacked the Federal Reverse was mandated in 1913 by Woodrow Wilson(who also imposed Prohibition on Mozart's and Beethoven compositions and alcohol also instituted the income tax) it's intention was to prevent banking panics like the one in 1907 but all it generated was more centralize power over the money supply which is purely unconstitutional only the congress has the authority to printed and coined money.

  • @theDeckisStacked Define in your terms on powerful elites. Do you mean their more left or right wing in their ideology and their single sided and don't required any critical thinking?

  • @theDeckisStacked Sorry for my inadequate writing i'm not a good speller or writer I think it's because of my anatomy and the fact that I have Asperger's.

  • @theDeckisStacked No it's catchy and beautiful but it gives me awkward feeling enjoying it.This is my same reaction on Al Jolson.

  • The world is very different...too different. I long for the old days. And this song makes happy and sad at the same time. It was one of my favorites as a kid in the early 70s.

  • @Bolinbabe - Ditto.

The growth of government & armies of ever-expanding gov't agencies dictating what we can & can not do. A parallel of the Roman empire.
