I don't think they like it in there. I suggest a much bigger play area such as a bed, and some hiding spots out of boxes.

I have got 2 boys and 1 girl.. The first boy's name is Bubu and he's a husky rat, the second rat's name is Bryan (like Bryan Adams, cause I love him!) and he is a Siamese Dumbo rat.. The girl is a Black Dumbo rat and her name is Lady :)

It may seem mean, but rats will jump out of everyything. Their cage, a box, bathtub. It's because they love adventure, and sometimes they just like crawling on thin things, [the box tops]. So no matter where the rats were, they could have been trying to jump out. I absolutely love rats, and I dont seem any harm in this. Unless, it went on foreverr. I think they just thought it was cute so wanted to get it on tape real quick. as long as they're not keeping them in there for a long time, it's okay

LOL, I was starting to think my rat was gifted in high jumping! I see now that other rats do it too lol! It just came off as strange to me when my rat jumped when I first got her because my rat I had b4 never jumped, let alone right out of his aquarium! She can jump out of the bathtub too, so now bath time is more of a struggle lol.

No offence to you, but (as much as I like the film) it has caused a huge concern for us fanciers. People see the film, get a rat without looking at the info. then decide it's not for them, or the fab wears off and they end up in rescue. \-/

BINGO! I am a huge PIXAR fan but I have been wanting to have rats for more than 20 years! I studied a lot for long time and am having a fun time with them every day. I was amazed to find out rats don't need much care. They don't stink and I wash the cage only once a week. They are wonderful pets.

They are so cute, I have about a 3 1/2 foot tall cage and my 4 older ratties can launch from the bottom to the top shelf with no problem, but my 2 younger ones have yet to make it that far. I really love your adorable ratties, they are so cute, I want some just like them to add to my family =)

Rats love playing! And they love human contact.

They are naturally extremely agile at jumping and fantastic climbers. Though I think maybe they should've let them out the box sooner rather than keep putting them back... but they were not distressed. A rat in distress would usually send out a distress call via a lot of squeaking.
