The trouble here is the USA don't take the risk of legionella seriously, as in the uk there are dedicated officers within most hospitals monitoring and implementing regimes as a prevention, I am one of these officers, admittadly legionella is only reportable when there has been a death or classed as an an outbreak, but I think I am fair in saying that there are a lot of times in the USA that lp is unreported as there are no stringent guidelines like we have here in Britain which has been the ca
My name is Laura and I also lost my mother to legionnaires at Spectrum Butterworth in July of 08. I would love to talk with someone who has been through the same as my family. Please contact me.
We are presently working with Dr. Janet Stout and Dr. Victor Yu from the Special Pathogens Lab in Pittsburgh, PA. We have surveyed many hospitals for cross connection of potable water which can contribute to legionaires disease and not one hospital is in compliance with the federal regulations. Please let me know if we can help.
Thanks for sharing your video. All hospital administrators should view it. I will share it with our local NBC-TV affliate's investigative reporter who investigated the Legionella death at a local hospital with contaminated water. My local city requires city inspection of all newly installed underground sprinklers for backflow protection, but I don't know if there is any ongoing inspection of hospital water systems. Keep up your good work.

I work with a guy who is dying form this, on life support with no brain activity right now in NW Ohio. This sucks, what a terrible way to go.
If only they would have caught it earlier, it was a good week before they transported him to Toledo.
