Sorry for the slow response, 2nd gear in the M5 gives you more control and balance (in the dry) M3 in the dry 1st gear but start slow so you have all the gear to use and slip the clutch just a little to get it spinning. If wet always second gear fella. Good luck, just remember practice is all it takes, if it has rear wheel drive and a fat engine it will drift. (Mbarclay123)
