bro if i could give u a million likes for what u said bout sampling i would the realist ish i ever heard somebody say thats a true producer to me creating your own sound unique sound
@westcal01 Stupidest thing I've read in a min. If you're for the beat sounding hot, than it shouldn't matter whether one uses samples or not. Hiphop was founded on sampling, but music must progress!
When did he say he was Quincy Jones? he not knocking sampling or saying hes better than anyone cuz he doesnt sample, he just doesnt want to sample anymore. plus his original beats are dope they sound like complete songs, not like those other dudes that hit three notes on the keyboard and call themselves composers. i wish he still sampled tho
@westcal01 some of my favourite illmind beats are non sampled joints..... and thas not taking anything away from sampling, coz i sample here and there but truthfully a dope original joint can stand side by side with a sampled one....
@westcal01 Co-sign. If you notice producers like Ski Beatz are slowly putting out less hits without the use of samples in comparison to the early years, Jay-Z, Camp Lo, Bahamadia all of recieved hits off the back of strong sample selection. I wouldnt be too woried though cause only a select few producers are doing It cause It sounds good to them, most are doing It to avoid clearance issues. Sampling is the foundation of Hip Hop, If you cant get with that then just deal.
@westcal01 As much as i love sampling, it has it's limitations. Composing beats from scratch is limitless. Also, there's the whole sample clearance problem.
This dude is sooo covering his ass on sampling. c'mon 3 SAMPLES on your album? So you're Prince all of a sudden? "I love this Masekela record! I sampled horns off it! *backpeddles* but it's unreleased" FOH
@kjhyy Not really I don't think it was that I think that he's growing but I think he's been messing with dj khalil to because a lot of his beats sounds like khalil's
