  • Enjoyed vid mainly because of actual sights & places shown. Also some family "relations" that, up until now......I wasn't aware of. Such a compelling & definite "One of a Kind" figure in History. The more I learn.....the more fascinated I become. This....after approx. 40+ yrs. of "interest". lol Thanks so much for the upload.

  • What did the upstairs door open out to? Was it just an escape hatch in case of attack?

  • no one knows what happened to his body and we for damn sure wont tell you

im from the Shawnee Tribe and know our people today .

  • hothead?because they wantd thier land

  • I love it, but hold the camra on your shoulder not your hip

  • Tecumseh brother was the said prophet - who was not a prophet as he led his warriors believe that they would be invisible to the white man, thus no true prophet indeed! The chief placed curses using witchcraft on our presidency & land causing the Mississippi which led to our biggest earthquakes ever & caused the river to run backwards! His father held hostage white children from the wars & had sex with these children leading to interacial children. These curses still remain & will be played out!

  • @SPLENOROUS yeah and those hostages were my great grandparents lol!

  • I live in Tippecanoe county, and i go to the rock all the time , I thought his brother as the proffitt. we have land along the wabash and i feel a great connection to this palce if you go out pretty parie road and look to your left after the creek then you will find mounds, where the stories claim to have barried cheifs

  • Thank you for this. I thought he was a "Canadian".

  • Chief Tecumseh and much of this history came down through the decendents of he and his brother Tenskwatawa. There was an agreement between Mrs Galloway&Chief Tecumseh to marry,he would live as the settlers and she would live as Shawnee,it was decided to think about it for one year.Just before his last battle, recieved word Mrs Galloway married her cousin.

He knew if he fought it was hopeless at that time..went anyway, walked on.Should be a monument for the Natives who fell defending thier home.

  • ....the bible belt.

  • I am told I am a desendant of Tecumseh. My Grandmother was related to Babel W. Shirrell born 1835. I Lawrence Co. Indiana. Married and they had Sherman William Tecumseh or Shirrell. birth. Sept. 20 1866 in Shoals, Ind. Died in Hoquiam Wa. 1936. down the line there is a Loumisa Dell Lufcy. My Great grandfather was a half bread named. William Tecumseh Shirrell . They moved to Hoquiam Wa. where he became chief of police.

  • ho chiinai hetiike and native unity

  • Tecumseh's brother Tenskwatawa gave us the medicine to cure alcoholism. I am tired of the bad reputation he has with people. He did have poure judgment when it came to war but we all can learn what he has taught us. Alcoholism is terrible in native culture and Tenskwatawa found a way out through the creator over 100 years before AA.

  • He was a true warrior, R.I.P. T

  • The War of 1812 was fake war manufactured jointly by the American and British elite in order to dismantle Tucumseh's Indian Confederacy.

  • thas an indian propet house owned and decorated by white people?

  • I thought his brother WAS the prophet. . The prophet set up the "Red Sticks" against the mixed bloods "White Sticks", leading to civil war among the Creeks. Ft. Mims , AL massacre was result. fortmims dot org

  • I thought Tecumsehs BROTHER was the prophet

  • Just to let u know the "indians" are still here!!!!!

  • i believe tecumseh had the scottish clan blood ..the clearances in scotland by the english very similar to native americans ..plight ..look up the info yourself

    peace

  • god i wish tecumesh wouldve won

  • i heard he was either german shawnee and british or german and shawnee and his mom was marguerite/mary ice so in other words if his dad nae begins with a p was half british and shawnee and his mom was german or german and british see ice german tecumseh wouldve be 1/4 shawnee

  • *Tenskawatawa*

  • Tecumsehs brother was a completely opposite, much more militant personality. Tenskwatawa was "The Prophet". and he fucked up so bad Tecumseh almost knifed him in a huge fight they had!

  • Since my childhood i admire to Tecumseh. He had very strong personality as every good politician and he showed how to fight for freedom at the same time when my Nation fought for freedom and state.

    Greets from Serbia

  • I hate to tell you, but Tecumseh's brother was the prophet. Tecumseh himself never claimed any authority that way.

  • i hate to tell you this, but lowawluwaysica brother of tecumseh was an outcast since birth, he also became a drunk that lost his eye for being careless, tecumseh and his sister are the only people that really paid any attention to him, tecumseh felt so sorry for his brother for never achieving anything that he told his brothers of his prophecies and made him look like the prophet , tecumseh later on his life outcast lowawluwaysica from the tribe because of his cowardness. tecumsehvisionhisdeath

  • @rosendomuriel79 Well your wrong and i am sorry about your hatred for those less fortunate it sounds like you are not of turtle island.

  • the strange sound was an opossum.

  • omg i love this story i just saw the play and his brother betrayed him so he fell into trusting the british who 2 betrayed him and killed him :,( he was truly a great man

  • Where are you getting your information? Tecumseh is a national hero in Canada for helping defeat the Americans in the war of 1812. He was killed fighting Americans in southern Ontario.

  • @perryfan10 perspective distorts history. My college professor teaches me what you just said.

  • @perryfan10 Guess he DIDN'T defeat the Americans after all, If that were true we'd be Tecumsians...read what you text first before posting falsified information.. & ya wonder why we don't trust Canadians

  • @TERRY72763 { Guess he DIDN'T defeat the Americans after all, If that were true we'd be Tecumsians}..The offensive actions of the United States failed to capture Canada, if they had, what would we be calling the Canadians?

  • legend goes in my family that in that time of tecumseh my grandfather married tecumseh's granddaughter

  • I just put together and posted a video of my phtos of my walk in the Footsteps of Tecumseh. If you click on my name here, you can find it on my channel page. (I'm not tech savvy.) I did photo journalss for myself and family.

  • Tecumseh didn't know he himself was a Galloway. His grandmother was Mary Galloway who married Frederick Ice. They had 4 kids, including Mary-Methotasa and Christina, mother of Thick Water. Whether Mary Galloway and her kids were related to James Galloway, I don't know, but in a land of no whites, what are the chances of them NOT being related?

  • it's a shame - our ancestors stole this country from the American Indians.

  • We're getting it back, don't worry.

  • If you're on facebook, consider subscribing to the Tecumseh page and becoming a fan...

  • i can't believe a different sgt. in the war was given a HUGE monument at Queenston Heights while Tecumseh was given a boulder that he wasn't even mentioned on. it sucks

  • I just saw an explanation from a web search I did a little while ago. Tecumseh was an ally; he wasn't fighting FOR Canada or protecting the British, etc. The discussion showed that Tecumseh wasn't directly tied to Canada - agree or not - then said it may not be a Shawnee cultural thing, etc, etc. One person's opinion, but maybe with insight.

  • @Monica1C3 Correct. Tecumseh sought to use the British as a tool against the Americans. That is why he wore the King George medal. To stir suspision that he had British backing in the American minds not out of any formal alliance beyond the Royal Proclamation acknolagment of the Native right to exist. Since the belief that Tecumseh had British backing was one of the reasons the USA declared war obvously it worked. Unfortunatly the British was too buisy with Napolion to do more then get stalemate

  • I am a direct descendant of Tecumseh. My 8th great grandmother was a europeon woman captured by the indians. she married tecumseh's father and had tecumseh. I dont care whether you believe me or not.

  • I'm a direct descendant of Homo Habilis. My 650,321st great grandmother was a Pleistocene woman and she married another Homo Habilis male. I don't care if you believe me or not.

  • I know you're telling the truth; I have the family records (access). See my post above. Be glad to talk to you further, dear cousin!

  • @radiantnakashima your imigination is stired by firewater, typical savage indian

  • @radiantnakashima Pretty cool man.

  • @radiantnakashima

my mother, born in Ohio, told me several years before she passed away in 5/2000, that Tecumseh was her GGGGGrandfather! i don't tell many people, but feel blessed that I could possibly be a a descendent of this great Shawnee hero. when I was a teenager (many moons ago) my mother told me that the end of the world would come when mankind destroys itself & the earth.

  • @radiantnakashima then get your ass off youtube and help your people

  • @radiantnakashima Did this lady have the last name of Ice?

  • @radiantnakashima I dont care if you believe it but Tecumseh is one of my ancestors so i am a descendant of Tecumseh too

  • Two of my favorite books in the world is PANTHER IN THE SKY by author James Alexander Thom about Tecumseh, his brother Tenskwatawa, a/k/a Lalawethika, a clumsy child unskilled in hunting, lost his right eye & a serious social handicap for a young man in Shawnee society, but completely devoted to Tecumseh, who was his protector. Another GREAT favorite is RIDES THE WIND by Lucia St. Clair Robson, about the story of Cynthia Ann Parker, her son Quanah Parker & the last days of the Comanches.

  • Wow ! I just finished Rides the wind and i am now half way through panther in the sky. Love them both ! Do you know of any other good books along the same lines as these two ????

  • The Greene County Historical Society in Greene County, Ohio sells a book by the great grandsons of James Galloway and Tecumseh. It is only available by them and their local book printer, both in Xenia (pictured). I live near there. There's a fish hatchery just north of there where the real birthplace of Tecumseh was by the Great (natural) Spring, literally 40 arrow flies from where the hill is where the old bark council house was in Chillicothe, current day Old Town.

  • I also suggest a book called "1491".

  • Tabsssenim Gitche Manito anamia anamiatawa Tecumseh' nikaniss sikwe awema.7 generations Tecumseh stood tall for all First nations betrayed by the circle of greed false religion falsely killed in name of God shall fall 2012. Awake look into your hearts written the law of our Creator.Let the love win given to all by our Creator.Stand tall be reaqdy protect our shared circle of life protect life love shared.Have a good day all

  • You don't have to wait until 2012; we're poised now, just need a few signatures and it'll all blow open.

  • I live in Tecumseh, MI. They named the town after this guy.

  • 1st tecumsehs brother wasnt a hot head tecumseh was trying to fight americans not europians and tecumsehs brother didnt start the war and tecumseh was trying to kill americans for settaling in the more western part of america

  • This was nice to see
