@LXaviera it might help some, but the paraffine burns slow enough, so there is no need! Som cheap candels are made out of paraffine wax, read some labels. Ebay has everyting!

@biggdady222 I usually pour some drymixed KNO3/sugar on the top of the smokebomb, if it doesnt light then i would have tried with Mg or something. KNO3/sugar usually works for me :) -Colored smokebomb is comming up!

@gomerk530 it won't change the color of the smoke. it will only dye the mixture red. and i wouldn't use iron oxide unless you are making rockets, because iron oxide is used as a catalyst. use something like baking soda.

@Sodcom Well, the colour of the mixture will probably turn red if that's what they're implying. Red iron oxide is used to speed up ignition and not to change the colour of the smoke. The colour of the smoke cannot or can hardly be changed when using KNO3. To make colored smoke you will need KClO4 and some expensive coloring dyes.

@zakamooza The wax/was is used to slow down the burn speed, thus making it smoke way more. Just enough so there is no flame. Then the smoke production is optimal. good luck.

@weoponmakerpro Well, the thing is that the recipe with the dye doesnt acutally work. To make a good colored smokebomb you will need to use Potassium Chlorate as a chlorate donor and a chlorate +dye.

@MegaJDM4LIFE Not to much, but for a perfect smokebomb you want to crush the sugar and potassium nitrate with a mortar and pestel. But it`s not needed at all!

@KSCPERFECT Light it with som powdered KNO3/sugar, and then som visco. Works most of the times, but yes -it`s really hard to light!

Make sure to wrap it in tight, so that it gets only a small amount of oxygen. Potassium Nitrate is a strong oxidizer, and it will make plenty of oxygen it selves. To much, and it will spit flames:)

If you browse the vids on youtube seaching for legendary smokebomb, you`ll find a bunch of videos, all including paraffin wax:)

The purpose is to slow the burning down, and to make the smoke thicker. Witch makes it much more funny and sweet to watch:) Good luck!

@toboe156 the KNO3/sugar you can mix by volum, its not very critical.

Take some parraffine wax and melt it, then add the dry-mix untill its a thick slurry, thicker than shown in the movie.

I use a 50/50 dry-mix of KNO3/sugar and a visco fuse. It is a bit hard to fire up sometimes..
