@mickschreuder: Free ride and story mode are two different things. In story mode you go from one mission to the other, but how you get to those locations are up to you. In free ride you just cruise around and goof off.

After you go down into the basement (6:02 mark) gun down the guys in the room at the bottom of the stairs then go back out into the hallway. Follow it, (around the 6:20 mark you should see a door that leads outside remember that for later). Then go down into the sub basement (6:31 mark) and take care of those guys down there. Then head back up the way you came and run straight for the open door. (7:08)

No but you get three or four magazines of ammo. Then you can pick up more from fallen enemies that were using an smg, even if it wasn't the type you're using.

Same goes with the pistol. :)
