  • @MbM20100 Mine sounds like shite when I crank it

  • @Taygoo15

what guitar are you using? good amps bring out the worst in cheap guitars or pickups....

  • @dreamboy314 Fender American Tele

  • Nice solo, very Robben Ford-ish

  • @AndreNieri Wow, thanks !! :-))

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Your video was a key factor in my decision to get this amp. Very hard to find, but the search was worth it. I totally love it.

    Thanks.

  • @ledjet I know man....I love my Lionheart. I have the 410 model....awesome tone.

  • How would you compare this one to your H&K Statesman ?

  • What guitar are you using, great, great sound and lovely playing and feel. Mucho praise to you

  • Hi Marco, great playing! And love the tone. About 00:50, are you there using the Plexitone pedal through the clean channel? Cheers from Sweden - Jonas

  • @JonasSweden1 Hi Jonas,thanks a lot !

Yes at 00:50 I started playing using the Plexitone thru the clean channel. The PT was on the first overdrive channel.

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • This is one of the finest amps I have ever heard. I own the Lionheart 410 20 watt and she is a beautiful amp. Warm, rich tone and chimey also.

  • Really nice tone and playing. Excellent. Never see Laney too much over here. Good sound, though.

  • Nice playing and tone, thanks for posting.

    peace!

  • Don't apologise for your playing mate, it was good stuff! I actually ordered one of these myself and I think hearing your video doesn't make me regret it in the slightest. However...

I've waited for mine for over a week, if it doesn't come today I'm gonna be pretty annoyed.

  • Great tone...wow...gotta get me one of those pups

  • great tone, what tubes do you run?

  • @extraajx Hi thanks !

Stock tubes here ! If I'm not wrong the amp was equipped with Tad's .

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • @MbM20100 I'll vouch for the TADs. I have the Lionheart 410 and it came with TADs. Telefunken smooth plate 12ax7 in V1 of my amp now. Wow....tone of the gods.

  • Whats the little marker on the cloth infront of the mic

  • @conor30000 Hi, I use it to remind me where to place the mic.. :-))

After some attempts, this is the best mic position I've found on this amp !

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • @MbM20100 Good idea, I will try your placement when I get my own L5-T. And if I agree, I will stick with it if you don't mind :-) Cheers from Southern Germany!

  • @sexyguitarboy69 Hi ! No problems at all ! There's no copyright at the moment. !! :-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • blues sounded good, what kind of pedal was that, sounded real nice.

  • @gamergeek3000 Hi thanks ! I've used a Carl Martin PlexiTone ! It's a very good OD pedal !

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Laney amps rule.. best clean tones out there.. super refined amps! Great post

  • THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO ! I ve got the same guitare and i m looking for an amp like this laney... i ll try it with a radial bones overdrive in a shop...thanks again !

  • How does it sound on low volume?

  • @Mofl0611 Very good to my ears ! The amp volume on this video was not too high !

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • how much is this in USD??

  • is this amp loud enough to be gig on a small venue or gig?

  • @ant1mag3 Hi..IMHO, no.

I've used it at rehersal without problems..But for live use, you have to mic it ! Anyway it's a GOOD amp and I think the 20 watt version can do the job !

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • @MbM20100 how much is this in USD?

  • @ant1mag3 It's 550 Euro here in Italy.

  • @MbM20100 How does this sound cranked on the clean channel.

  • @Taygoo15 Hi. It stay clean until the volume knob is at 2 o'clock. After that, it starts to breakup in a GOOD way...but it's not clean. Consider that it's only 5 watt so you don't have a lot of headroom.

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • @MbM20100 does the breakup sound good like a good overdrive

  • Great demo. I have this amp myself, and would never ever replace it. Sounds so amazing, especially if you think it's just a small 5 watt combo.

  • @AlexGuitar1987 Thanks ! You're right, this amp sounds GREAT !

    ;-)

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Is 0:55 with a pedal

  • @Taygoo15 Yes. It's a Carl Martin's "PlexiTone "

    Ciao,

    Marco

  • Not crappy but happy, not sloppy but poppy ...You can play , now learn to write !

    Cheers,JM

  • @MrJm6969 Thanks JM !

    :-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Your playing inspired me to jam along and took me out of a "musical depression" so to say. Thanks for that. (;

  • @MonkeyZo0 Happy to help you ! ;-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Sounds awesome!! Sloppy playing? C'mon... sounded great! I have this amp and agree it is spectacular. Can get big and crunchy without getting the cops called on you! ;-)

  • @3dsman Hi thanks !

    ;-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Sounds like this amp is good with pedals. I came close to purchasing this amp but went for the ulbrick firebottle 5 head, nice mixes well with various cabs. One thing I like about the laney is the effects loop, I think modulation effects need this. Can you tell me how the loop sounds if you use it.

  • @theot71 Hi, I don't use modulation efx too much. The only efx I use in the loop is the delay. For mod/delay efx the efx loop will work better because the efx will be applied to the exact preamp output...but there're no rules..it's just a matter of tastes ! :-) If you don't have any efx, loop, just use your mod/delay efx as the last efx in the pedals chain and you're done !

    :-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • what more do you need

  • @speck444

    :-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Sweet sweet tone my friend! Im now thinkin about this amp over the VC30.

  • I would dearly love to have some tabs for this entire solo. Don't worry. I will never put my butchering of the solo on youtube. It will be for personal/medicinal use only.

  • @BOULDERDP Hi, thanks !

Sorry, no tabs... The solo part is just an improvisation..... :-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Great playing, Marco. The less overdriven parts of your leads remind me of early Clapton - Bluesbreakers era.

  • Thanks ! :-))

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • good pickin the amp sounded the best again great pickin have you ever heard of shuggy ottis check out the early stuff when he was 15 pretty wild

  • I know just few songs of Shuggy from "In Session" and I like it !

    Thanks !

    Ciao,

    Keep rockin`!

  • Hi ! Thanks !!

    :-)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • great tone !!

  • Thanks !! :-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Hey Marco! Sounds AWESOME! Love the Plexi on it too!

I just picked up this amp today (dent & scratch) at AMS for $499! YES!

Say... can the L5T classic 70s Marshall crunch like the early Van Halen? If not, what 2nd amp can I be on the look out for next? :-)

    Peace,

    Jamie

  • ;-)))

    Great shot, Jamie !!

Enjoy your new GREAT little amp !! I'm sure you'll love it !!!!

    Ciao !

    Ciao !!

    Marco

  • Simply WOW! Great tone, great playing. Perfect.

  • Thanks !! :-)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Nice playing!

  • Thanks a lot !!!

    Ciao !

    Marco

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Hey, is this straight into the amp or are you using pedals please?

  • Hi,

until 00:50 only guitar & amp then from 00:51 to end, I used a Carl Martin Plexitone on the lead guitar.

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • I like that video effect. What program did you use?

  • ;-))))

    Windows Movie Maker !

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • GReat sounding amp! Nice playing, also!

    Cheers!

  • @zunder777 Thanks a lot !! ;-)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • great playing! great tone too. im looking to pick one of these up sometime.

  • @direstrats220 Thanks !!

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Does someone compared this and the Laney vc 15? I love the warm and bright tones of the vc 15, and the gained tones, but never tried this, and I have a good oportunity to get one...Could have the same volume power with his 5w and his 12" as the vc 15w with his 10"? And sound as good as that at low volume? the 12" means more bass tones? Hurry up! or someone could get it before me.. :( Thanx

  • delicious...super sound. Perfect tone...perfect playing. Wish I could have that sound too.

  • @lambadalasse Thanks ! ;-))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • I gotta hand it to you this is the best I've ever heard one of these amps sound! Nice demo!

  • Thanks !

    ;-)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • HI there - would this be loud enough to gig in a five piece pub band ? Thinking about one cause the price is good ! Your playings good by the way!!

  • Hi !

Amp's sounds are really really good...anyway in a five pieces band, I think 5watts are not enough if you don't mic the amp.

During rehersal / studio I've never had problems.... Playing live..mmmh.... you need a good PA and good monitors ! :-)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • I've got the L20H + LT212 cab and I use it in a pub band (drums + bass + 2 guitars) and it's plenty loud enough for rooms up to about 150 - 200 people, any larger and I'll mic it up. But you get great cranked tone at a manageable volume.

I doubt the 5w version would give you any clean headroom at band levels, the 20w clean channel is just on the edge of break up against a drummer. I'd go with either the head + cab or the 4x10 combo for band use.

  • Nice playing. Great sound.

  • Thanks !!!

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • I agree. If I could play like this beeing sloppy, I would be sloppy all the time....Great

  • Thanks a lot for the kind words ! ;-)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • i don't hear any sloppy playin' man! :) don't give us that ''i'm very humble'' crap......xD

  • :-D

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • What song? =)

  • can you get pretty much distortion outta this?

  • Yeah, but "distortion" is a shitty effect you get from a stomp box.

This gets OVERDRIVE, and spades of it. It's only a 5-watt amp though, so it's not crazy loud, but breaks up early and smooth

  • 5 Watts can be very loud in a tube amp - look at the Marshall Class 5. By the way anyone have experience of both this Laney and the Laney VC-15? How do they compare?

  • yeah i'd like to know to!

  • I really like the sound and your playing...It that a strat ? What happend about 0.58 when the sound got much more agressive ??

    Thank you...

    Kris

  • Hi Kris ! Thanks !

In this video I'm using a Gibson LP Studio.

    @ 00:50 I've turned "ON" the Carl Martin Plexitone ! ;-))

    Ciao !!

    Marco

  • ma è quello 5 W ???

  • Sì, lui !! :-)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Grazie !

    Concordo, gran bell'ampli ! :-))

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • Great sound and playing ;o)

  • Thanks !!! :-))))

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Wow wonderful Amp and backed up with playing to go with it ......... Now I must have one of those Laney Loinheart L5

  • :-) Thanks !

I think you can't go wrong with it !!

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Your tone is awsome! Playing is great, too, no deen to apologize...

  • Thanks GuitarAK81 !!!

I've watched your vedeos....you're a really FINE guitarist.!!

    Thanks again !

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • what the hell's going on at 50 sec. sounds like differant guitar and amp over dub, Is it the same amp ???

  • :-))

    Hi Steveules !

It's the same amp....I've just turned ON the plexitone pedal ! :)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Great test, great sound,great player ;-)

  • Ottimo!

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • I wish my playing was that "sloppy"!! ;-)

Great tones and a cool demo of a lovely amp. I think this video actually has better sound quality than the official Laney ones!!

  • Thanks all for the kind words ! ;-))

    Ciao !!

    Marco

  • Now I have got to have one of those .... By the way your playing is right up there ... Thanks for that excellent demo

  • You did a great job with the audio, I know how much YouTube degrades the quality. Nice playing, great tone! Thanks for posting!

  • Hello ,nice playing indeed, I had a VC50 but it had a poxy sound

  • Great playing, and a nice demo! I got to check out this amp today and I really liked it. Great tone at reasonable volumes. Very versatile as well.

  • Thanks !!

I have to agree with you, it's a great and versatile amp !!

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • does the clean channel stay clean at high volumes?

  • Hi !

    Mmmm....no...not too much..

It stay clean until the volume is at ~6/10 with humbuckers or ~7/10 with single coils.

There's not too much headroom in a 5 watt amp...

IMHO if you want a good clean sound at good volume levels you should consider the 20 watt version.

    Ciao!!

    Marco

  • yes!!

for the first time , a good video about this great amp !!!!!

    tanks !!!!!!!!

  • Thanks ! Glad you liked it !!!

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • ohhhhhh man I really love the lionheart amps!!!! This weekend I have to buy the l20h cab and extencion cabinet!!

    the lionheart tone is amazing

  • You can't go wrong with the LionHeart ! :-)

    Good luck with it !!!!

    Ciao!

    Marco

  • nice amps

  • Wich one do you prefere between the laney lionheart and the hughes&Kettner statesman?

  • Good question... :-))

Both are versatile amps, both sounds realy good (...to my ears), both are well built, both are really dynamic. The Lionheart is less fizzy at "home levels" but it can't compete with the Statesman's gain level. If you're searching a GOOD warm tone then the Lionheart is the choice. If you want "more drive", the Statesman for sure.

For the music I play (blues, rock/blues) I prefer the sounds I get from the Lionheart + the Plexitone ! :)

    Ciao !

    Marco

  • Complimenti x la nuova bestiolina!!!

    ciosper :-)

  • Uella ! Grazie ! ;-))

    Ciao!!

    Marco

  • Hey Dude! really great playing!
