I really like how every little detail stands out. You can hear every note. His pedal and articulation are impeccable. My friend played this and she blended a lot of it together. It's a lot different that way, but still wonderful.
@SendInTheChickens I don't like it that much either, nevertheless his version is something interesting and important for me, as I play the piano myself. This version gives you a hint of what he put into this prelude.
Wow! I finally get to hear this via a concert grand and a Mason and Hamlin at that. It is quite a sensitive Ampico! ONE MUST TURN UP THE VOLUME TO GET THE FORTISSIMOS, tho. When one does, he will realize that electromagnets don't do what pneumatics can. It is a youtube video of an Ampico that I am proud to send to people to whom I've wanted to demonstrate a well-playing Reproducing piano. Thank you, Bob. whp

@mrkatsumi1000 The roll is abundant and easily found in both A coding or B coding. Therefore, the price is cheap.

I think this recording shows exactly what he thinks about this song. Great to hear his performance of his own recording.

Don't like this version, I have to say. I've found I don't like the way Rachmaninoff plays his own stuff with a few of them actually.
