Hello! I wanted to ask you if it was OK to eat prahok while pregnant, or if you ate it... I'm not khmer, but my husband is and we are visiting his parents soon. I dont think I would be eating the sauce with meat, but the 1-2 tablespoons (actually, more) will mostly likely be in their cooking. I tried googling it but couldn't find anything. I'm thinking it would be ok but I'm not sure about the sanitation since it was bottled in a different country. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Thank you very much and labor and delivery was a cinch...probably b/c of the epidural...I was laughing all the way until the last 5 mins and then 10 mins later with 3 pushes, she was out. I didn't even scream or cried.....well, except when I finally saw my daughter for the first time...hehe!
@jakeychan87 My mom made me drink a lot of coconut juice so that the baby would come out clean and it was true. After the baby was when my mom put me in a sauna with all the khmer herbs to breathe in.
