Is it just me or was the airbrush never used during the tutorial?

As for the pic, I think the end result looks a little unnatural and over-tanned.

You can achieve better results by simply adjusting levels, exposure, etc. Duplicating layers and masking is a bit limited and inefficient. Try messing with levels, etc under image>adjustments

I liked the tutorial about airbrushing but am having a problem. When I use the DIffuse glow, the backround changes color(gray or blk) the skin(non white) turns gray or the white area turn gray. Even if I only use a plus 1 glow amount. Any ideas?

It's a vista with a Mac theme. The dock at the bottom is a common app like Objectdock or Stardock. Those programs allow you to hide the taskbar and use the dock app at the bottom. Neat effect. Macs suck.
