  • All the old games are original and may I say some of the best I have ever played. Compared to the new games that are coming out these days I rather play the old original games.

  • i´m sorry, but i think i´m just too young for this. and c´mon, it REALLY looks boring!

  • i still love games on PSX, but this looks really boring..

  • @zplitt9 what the fuck is wrong with you?

  • i havent seen that in years =O i remember playing it in the good old days ^^ just got reminded of it from the movie =P

  • Did anyone catch the number of that donkey cart?

  • i cant finish this or om ognna ry times have changed too much

  • That doesn't work.

  • Rob Brydon as Death and the patrician, genius.

  • I had this game for PC. always was a PC gamer, and still am. the few, the proud.

  • Amazing game

  • gondra gondra gondra gondra gondra

  • My favorite characters in the series are Rincewind and Angua.

  • THE UNSEEN UNIVERSITY! HOME TO THE BEST WIZARDS..... and Rincewind.....

  • is this a point and click kinda game?

if so, is it compatible with a mouse?

  • @YodaWithYoga It's originally a PC game. No idea how do you play a point and click game with a controller. Probably kinda like playing an RTS with a controller.

  • One of the best games out there i enjoy playing this game

  • Do you know how to take the broom out of inventory if you have put it there instead of taking it with you upstairs as you did? I have a broom but I am unable to kick the baggage from the wardrobe and got a bit stuck ;)

  • lol the game has sick graphics for a game that old even though the voices lag a bit...

  • love this game

  • was the mugger voices by Michael Caine?

  • I remember being a kid... I didn't really understood English - but still, I loved Discworld (and Legend of Kyrandia or Day of the Tentacle) and other "old" games, thanks to my older brother. After a few years, I replayed them (now fully understanding English) - I can't say more than that all of them are wonderful games, and I only miss nowadays games being so great. Oh well...

  • Nowadays it's all about graphics. And it sucks. All the games i love are on PS1 or some other older systems. Final Fantasy VII & VIII, Rayman (original sidescroller), original medal of honor, Gran Turismo 2, Original Silent hill, Resident Evil 2, Worms world party and armageddon, Discworld, Oddworld, Croc etc. Even the Disney games like Hercules were better than 95% of the new games that are released nowadays (Hercules was just an example, it's awesome game imo).

  • @kinkkku well aren't you a special little hipster, here's a cookie

  • @ashleyboyo69 Haha. Thanks for the cookie.

  • I remember how my sisters bud got this on my computer like 8 years ago (I'm 16 now) and how much I enjoyed it :D Even though I didn't understand that much of the English spoken in the game. Heh, gonna get this game again.

  • I used to have the demo version of this game on PS1 (during my pre-teen years), and the funny scenes always had me in hysterics. My favourite part was 7:13. The dramatic music and "a shape frought with ... with ... shapeness" had me ROFLMFAO. xD

  • i loved this game

  • Reminds me of Broken Sword.

  • Love the attenborough like voicing

  • @zwerty007 I think it is actually supposed to sound like Terry Pratchett

  • I needed help finishing this game so bought a walkthrough guide, sooooooooooooo bloody tough but great.

  • Fucking loved this game

  • thats the fly off rayman one the ps one

  • if you love this check Broken sword!

  • @JKGamerChannel yeah that was a good game broken sword it was like this a bit but less out there

  • omg ! i remember playing this on my ps1 back in the day, so good memories

  • @MIkaeltheMan1 lol i used to play rayman with my mum XD

  • this game looks sweet!

  • arise chicken, arise! lol that whats the dragon part reminded me of

  • This is without a doubt my favorite PS1 game of all time.

  • is that one of the monty python guys voice

  • @dragonsmoyer Yes, it's Eric Idle

  • LOL! "A shape... fraught with... with... shapeness. It must be a plot element. Otherwise there'd be a better label."

  • my first game when I bought a PlayStation. Got it when I was a teen. Loved it then love it now.

  • I must remember, the next time I go to a House of Negotiable Affection I need to hand over an egg, flour and a coconut - that should raise a titter.

  • Did anyone get the number of that Donkey Cart?

  • 3:00 is that michael caine?

  • its kind of a "point and click game" no shit sherlock!

  • THAT DOESN'T WORK

    OMG memoriesssss]

  • OMG memoriesssss

  • they should remake this.

  • @estherbeirne a re-release would be better. a remake wouldnt work out. for one thing it wouldnt have as much dry british humour or the puns. original > remake

  • i havent played this game in so long brings back memories

  • Jesus, this was the best game, I loved it so much!

  • oooh my good :D i used to play this game when i was about 7 years old. we lost the game, so i havent thought bout it for bout 10 years. i remeber this game SO hard haha. its a shame, that we've lost it. it want it back it was gorgeous.

  • i want this game so bad...;-;

  • 6:25 .... classic Discworld humor...!

  • Anyone know where I can find an old DOS game called Boogaloopers?

  • I like cristopher lee better as dead.

  • 2:23 - I love Death too.

  • disworld is awesome. recently got it to work on my pc now

  • DUDE! I didn't know thy made a game out of this! There's books, movies, AND GAMES?!

  • i can't remember but there was a thing that took me ages to figure out, not sure if it was using the broom on the chest

  • I used to play this game on my sega saturn. LOOOOVELY. *thumb up*

  • @zombiekiara To this day, I'm still bitter that the Discworld games were not released on the U.S. Saturn. I got to play a bit of the first one on PSX and thought it was awesome. I never have played it unfortunately.

  • i used to love this game, but it pissed me off cause it kept freezing at the same spot over and over again- i could never beat it . but i love the humor

  • Was that drunk that bashed into Death the voice of Dudley Moore?!

  • Something in the town's style reminds me Melee Island of TSOMI1.....

  • Aww, good old-fashioned games... without all those unnecessary glittery stuff. Where to get this?

  • @Sieglinde84 theres a emulator for all the old point and click adventure games of the 90's made by lucas arts etc. if you havent heard of them i would advise checking them out some of them have great puzzles and scripts i think one was even directed by steven spielberg haha.

but yeah swaying from the point, search up SCUMMVM in google with discworld (because its a modded version of the program that it needs to run it)

download and follow the instructions on various forums, it may seem complex

  • @Sieglinde84 but its reallly quite simple once you just get your head round the task at hand.

    enjoy :)

  • this is awesome. I've got to find a rom of it.

  • This is a cool video!! OMG!!! You sound just like Nicholas Brendon!! You know that guy who played Xander Harris and a bit part in Criminal minds!!! But whatever. I really like this vid!Thank so poating!!

  • I can't get the sound on my new(ish) computer.

  • 7:01 "That doesn't work."

That gave a HUGE flashback to me! XD

  • haha I think "That doesn't work" is burned into all of our brains thats played it :D

  • one of the hardest games i've ever played

  • But also one of the wittiest and full with great humor and adventures. ;)

  • yeah agree with that ....the 2nd game could work by almost process of elimination...but you have to know a bit about pratchett's style to get the first one...like *spoilers* putting the trash can on the fools head"

  • That's like looking back on to super mario brothers and saying that. For it's time this game was amazing, and still is!

  • It's just, was this released for the Playstation or was it a port? I've dealt with a lot of PS1 games and this just doesn't feel like it was built for a platform like that.

  • I think it was a Playstation game and a Sega Saturn game, but originally a DOS game. The Playstation game was really good (I now have the DOS game which to quote Rincewind 'Doesn't work!' on Vista). The only bad thing about the Playstation game was I believe it needed 8 memory card blocks to save.

  • Holy crap, that's a lot of memory.

  • Try DOSbox, or something similar, it emulates dos, and runs on a new operating system.

  • Obviously you don't know the definition of a great game. ;)

  • This game maybe old but goddam i played this game and 2 alot.

I kinda wish now there was a discworld 3.

  • There is. It is called Discworld Noir and is (imo) the best of the series. Not quite the same as the first 2, but you will know what I mean once you start playing it. :)

  • I kind of wish i knew about it years ago.

I played up to discworld 2 missing presumed.

Even then,i think both are great games.

  • I'm sure it plays well, I just don't know if I could stand the out-of-syncness for an entire game.

  • There is no out-of-sync. It's just that the animation isn't like in a film but like in a game from 1995. :P Take a look at the conversation between the headmaster of the Unseen University and the white long-bearded guy. Starts from about 4:30 .

  • You've got ta admit that "DRAGON DRAG- DRAGON DRA- DRAGON DRAG- " gets pretty annoying after a couple iterations...

  • :D Ok, here you're right. :P But that's the only part with such d*ng. ^^

  • muy buen juego!!!

algo antiguo pero muy bueno ;)

  • i just looove the part at 7:15 (although I played this game in german). Could listen to this for hours :D Still use this phrase everytime it makes even just barely sense ^^

  • hey does anyone know if its possible to do anything with the lantern, donkey and the dinosaur? you dont need them to finish the game... cant remember doing anything with the pink bloomers either...

  • @kalldin

Use the butterfly at the lantern

Donkey and the dinosaur teddies I can't remember

  • The mugger dialogue the funniest scene in the intro.

  • Thank you . you really helped me.

  • i remember this game being too hard

  • in the beginning part with the brotherhood I used to hear "drag ga gon"

  • Godamn Horrible harsh unforgiving game!

  • i began this game when i was 6 or 7 and to this day have never finished!

since more advanced versions of windows (and vista) were coming out, it was difficult to run the game at all, same with Grim Fandango and a couple of the MI games (all childhood favs of mine!)

I'm desperate to know how this game is supposed to end! As I did finish the sequel - also brilliant!!

  • I could say the ending? I finished it many a times as a kid haha.

A brilliant game! and watching this vid, I remember it like, word for word

  • lol hardest game ever, but funniest too!

  • please sum1 tell me were i can download this game i knw their must b 1 sumwhere please help x

  • emuparadise, you'll need epsxe to play it

  • Its on the Dreamcast also :D

  • i miss games like this D: they dont make em anymore.

  • Well they do but there usually either Flash based, on the DS or done in "Episodic" form like the new Sam and Max and Monkey Island 5

  • Go Eric Idle!

  • I miss the old days of the PS1 where Sony was just getting into games, and the industry was just getting into CD storage, and no one really knew what the hell to do with the storage and processing power, so we got everything from Jumping Flash to Discworld to Rayman to Irritating Stick to Myst to D to Tomba.

I just miss publishers being more experimental about what they put out, I think. Discworld was awesome.

  • Good game - but very hard.

I thought the 1st sequal was better in at least I managed to complete the game with just a few hints.

  • It's the awesome voice acting that makes this game! I wish thry would release this on the PSN store!

  • I really think that too because if this isn´t a PS1 classic nothing is i used to play this as a little kid and i was loving it PUT IT ON PSN ASAP

  • @MrXxxgedxxx Too right it's definately a Playstation Classic!

  • @MrXxxgedxxx Or nintendo eShop when its out

  • Yes Death is the best one.

    SEE YOU SOON.

  • Discword? Like....by terry pratchet? OF MY FUCKING GOD IT IS! THE GREAT A'TUIN!

  • how did you get the banana?

  • it was in the walking chest at the beginning.

  • thank you

  • this was a fantastic game

  • lol looks like I spoke a bit too soon. Man I love Luggage.

  • I hope Luggage is in this. Death and Luggage are my fav characters in Discworld

  • Gives you the feeling that the ceator never actually read the books

  • i get tears in my eyes T_T they don't make these awesome games now

  • man. i'm watching this instead of playing it because i can't get the voices to work on friggin vista, and i can't stand it without the voices, so... thanks

  • I wonder how many of you guys who played the game read the discworld book the dragon comes from it was called "gaurds gaurds!" and the dragon is one of a kind since real dragons are nothing like it

  • Ah, I love that book. It's probably one of my favorites. I wish I had one of those swamp dragons lol

  • I wanna know why Rincewind is getting rid of the dragon and not the city watch ?

  • Great Game ! How to save game ? :)

  • Omg, i love Discworld so much!

  • yep,discworld was exellent

  • I love this game SO MUCH <3

  • Thanks so much.... Do you have any tips for how I can get the sound to work on mine? I can get the music, but not the sound fx or the voices. And this game is all about the voices...

  • it makes me crying sometimes to watch such nostalgic and seeing the damned life of 2009 compare to the dreamy one in around 1996...

    *sight*

  • its like watching a memory.

  • the fly is pissing me off

  • MASTERPIECE! loved this game.

DW 2 is good too, but DW Noir... uhmmm...

  • still waiting for discworld 2! pleasee do it x

  • I thought they made one a year or two afterwards -- never got to play that one, though.

  • Who is the guy who is doing the voice for Rincewind.... Isn't it the guy from Monty Python?

  • Yes it's Eric Idle.

  • let me tell u a brief story...back in the day my cousin had two choices..you either have Tekken 2 (which was the most awesome game at the time) or Discworld? Now u tell which one did he pick?

  • Discworld?

  • @dookieboy81 Transformers war for cybertron?

  • @whatewer23

    LMAO!!

  • yes there is no logic in this game

  • I've played through both Discworld 1 & 2, some of the puzzles didn't make sense but now I've read 30 Discworld novels and a set of 5 and various other books.

  • great game although i only have the demo :( i'll watch your discword movies there brill :) i love the thumor and jokes used in this game. there clean yet funny :)

  • The yellow guy at around 2 min, where there is Death on the foreground... is he sounded by the professor from Futurama?

  • This game was fun, but it always crashed my computer.

  • I tried to play this on my current PC but the sound don't work :( and it likes to crash alot.

  • Wierd, the drunken guy origanaly pukes on the corner next to Death, they must of changed it for the PS1 version or maybe for the American territory.

  • Damn. Never knew that.

  • @HooDlymUK yeh its mad to think of america as some wierd non liberal religious country like iran, or china, banning sick in games, and tits on the t.v

    ha ha

  • lol this game should defo be rereleased i want it so bad

  • i love this game

  • what the hell is this xD, this game looks fun as hell.

  • Try listening to the beginning while playing Kaizo Mario World. AHHH THAT FRIGGIN FLY!!!

  • Yay! I have fond memories of playing this after school with my friends, it drove us crazy! "That doesn't work"...thanks for putting this up!

  • No prob.

  • a university for wizards i see now where the author of harry potter got that idea from lol

  • Is't here another one of these games that you take control of a dragon (which eats rubys) and you go to save your Reptilian Princess?

  • I'm not quite sure.

  • "Blazing Dragons"?

  • What's your favourite part of the game?

  • Hard to say. I thought Chapter 1 of the game was the best though.
