A lovely touch in at the Limelight in Crewe tonight.
A Dutch couple, for whom the 'Delicate Flame' album meant so much, had only recently found out that Karnataka were back in business.
They came to Crewe and the guy decided this was 'The Right Time' to propose, right there on stage with the band. Naturally she accepted, otherwise I wouldn't be telling.
All together now... aaaahh! Oh, and the concert was great as well. The new(ish) line up is very promising.
I know! I woz there! I wouldn't miss Karnataka at the Limelight for all the tea in China! I actually thought about buying them some champagne to celebrate with, but decided that (a) I couldn't afford it, and (b) the Limelight, bubbly not being their forte, probably don't stock a vast selection. You're right about the line-up, only disappointment is that the album is taking such a long time to see the light of day. Judging from the live performances, it sounds like a classic already!
My first time with the almost newly built Karnataka, and it was great to hear so many favourites again, plus some exciting new stuff as well. Lisa was awesome, even though she dressed a bit like a gothic Stevie Nicks.
'Into the Gathering Light' and 'The Storm' were certainly my highlights of the night.
I notice you're also keen on Mostly Autumn. How is AMH settling in? I haven't seen them since she joined.
LOL A gothic Stevie Nicks? Nothing wrong with that!..I know Lisas style is similar to Stevie in real life anyway if you see her offstage. She's lovely to talk to too!
Still a good gig at Crewe despite the soundman needing to be shot! (What has happened to the Limelight recently?) But the band still pulled off an excellant gig despite the tech gremlins. I saw them at the Point the night after and they blew us all away!
Saw AMH with MA earlier in the year, presumably Heather's since left? Will be there in Crewe to see them again in December - it's a Xmas tradition! Also can't wait to see Panic Room for the first time, on the 4th.
I was there to, I was the dutch guy! The concert was great and we wil never forget it. The difficult part for myself was that I had to keep it silent for almost 2 months, but I succeeded and Karin never imagined anything like this. Hopefully Karnataka will come to the Netherlands next year!
You were either very brave or very confident, or maybe both. For me it just added an extra touch to a great night, one I hope you both remember and cherish for many years to come.
I too hope Karnataka play the Netherlands next year, as long as they come to Chester first. Very best wishes to you both.
Great! shame looks like it was filmed on a camera phone.. love the new line up though cant wait for the next tour! and the stuff from Chasing the Monsoon sounds cool too!

I blame the camera person actually! The band use too many sampled sounds (some of them off the shelf) try creating your own sounds lads and stop using soft synth presets. All those knobs are for tweaking to get your own sound you know. 3 out of 10

Well it wasn't his fault I think. Not at all.The footage is extremely good! 10 out of 10 personally! A truly remarkable video.

Crap clip...not as good as the original Karnataka.

Blame the camera, not the band. Wouldn't say "not as good", just different. Their new songs sound truly impressive though.
