Hadra568 I'm 33 weeks also with my first child this video really gives me confidence because so many people are doubting me about going natural but I want the best for my baby so an epidural is out of the question. I hope I can prove everyone wrong and have a fine natural delivery of my baby boy. I hope the pain is manageable !
I'm 33 weeks with my first baby. I want to have a pain medication free childbirth, but I'm surrounded by nay-sayers. People that say they love and care about me are insisting that I won't be able to do it, that I'm not strong enough, not good enough to have my baby without an epidural or narcotics. Watching your birth story has helped to fill me with confidence that yes, I can and will do this, and I will know I have done right by my little girl.
Your labor was very similar to my first. Mine was 23 hours back labor & baby wasn't posterior either. Pretty sure I delivered in that same room too ;) My second birth 3 months ago was GREAT! Water broke at 6:30 pm but no serious contractions till about 12:30 am. Got to hospital @2 am @6 cm. An hour later I was complete, literally pushed for 10 SECONDS. She flew out so fast the midwife couldn't even catch her in enough time. Poor baby face planted on the bed, ha!
Sweetie, I feel your pain. I went al naturale with my pregnancies, all 3 of em. When my daughter was at the last few cm of labor, she was in serious pain and being a mother myself, I wanted to do her labor for her. I learned that day there's another pain you can't keep your daughter from experiencing.
@Mrbluesman000 Labour and birth probably do hurt more than being kicked in the nuts, the difference though is that at the end of all our hard work we have a baby, a guy kicked in the nuts has nothing to show except pain and bruised balls.
Well done Mama, I'm having a home birth so I'm wondering how I will fare, I labored at home for 2 days by the time I gave in the contractions and went to the hospital I was 7 cms dilated. I was like 'No way!'
And she said YES!.. I felt like was not fare for him :(. Next time I want to go for an VBA2C and focus in doing all the hard work with my baby!. Is not other way!!!!
I had the same kind of labor 10 months ago. Sadly I was so much in pain that I decide to go for the epidural. Stop my labor and finally had my second c-section :(.. So sad...
next time I want to labor with my baby . I did not relize that my baby was doing still the hard work while I was pain free.. I remember that one nurse came to my room and says.. looks like your baby don't like the contractions... And I ask her if my baby still feels the pain of being born while I was all numb.
@mrbluesman000 if you got an amazing reward like the joy and happiness a mother gets from their baby overall, then maybe you would want to get hit in the balls
women say child birth is more painful than getting kicked in the nuts, a year later or so they say "i want another baby". You will never hear a guy say " i wanna get kicked in the nuts again" proof that getting kicked in the nuts is worse
was this ur first child? just a question, home much should a women dialate? if a woman doesnt dialate much what happens? does the dr. really cut a person? if they do doesnt it hurt the day after or something? or hurt when a person goes pee? i have so many questions. i have no one to ask really.
@thelittlejennie Yes, this was my first child. In most circumstances, a woman needs to dilate to 10 to deliver her baby vaginally. If the labor doesn't progress and it's becoming life threatening to baby and/or mom (dropping/increasing heart rate, fever, blood pressure changes, etc.) then they will perform an emergency c-section.
so her husband could sleep? no offence but blokes do nothing in labour, women are far stronger than men....men just sit around and everyone is supposed to feel sorry for them? dont think so.

Hi! Elmer the Safety Pachiderm here... Husbands shouldn't be there in the room when their wife gives birth. you have the perfect husband to go through a natural birth! you both did a great job!!!
in 6 weeks I will have my fourth child. my third child was a c-section. now I'm so excited to have a natural birth again with my fourth! I really look forward to it and can't wait to hold my baby in my arms :-)
I'm an 11 year old girl and you have inspired me to want to have a natural birth when I'm older. I want no drugs, just pure natural instinct! Thank you Genivieve and Mike for giving me this inspiration!
@BearLoveHugz As a piece of friendly advice - never take a position on anything without thoroughly subjecting them to scrutiny. This applies to child birth.
Many may feel compelled to give birth without the ready availability of medication, surgery and peers, but whatever you do - do it in a hospital.
@Hankatu Excuse me, I do not know what you are talking about and am slightly confused. Could you possibly repeat that in a manner that an 11 year old would understand?
I have tro laugh at women who are determined to go natural & then pat themselves on the back for doing so. I just don't find that type of thing noble in a modern society where epidurals exist, my reaction is usually to laugh at these young moms who feel it makes them better parents for not getting meds & fearing it will harm the baby. @moonlitsonata41 - dont freak out by these videos..childbirth can be done in so many different ways that are not so painful...this is just an extreme video of not taking any help from available medical procedures...You can have a c section, i had 2 elective c sections and didnt feel a thing cuz of anasthesia and my wound healed soon with not too much pain, it hurt only for 1 week like any normal cut would do, not any unbearable pain like this! then it just dried away....
I had my two children natural, too. No drugs, no epidural. Some other women think I'm crazy for it, but I figured women have been giving birth naturally for multipule thousands of years, so why can't we do it, too? Thumbs up to you, Super Mom!!
@MrsVampireJackie Breathe through it, and squeezing a stress ball. It really depends on your pain tollerance. Rest helps, because the tired you are, the less you can endure. So, before active laybor, try to sleep as much as possible. For me, the contractions just felt like pressure, until active laybor and that's when you really have to test your endurance. @29Essan It's not brain washing. Its to calm her. If she panics there can be complications or birth defects to the baby. This woman is a super mom and she does what alot of women these days choose not to do. Natural birth, when knowing what to do, is the best for the baby. She's doing it all for her child.
some women can take it and others don't. in my case, i was angry and wanted quit area in the hospital. i took the shot and gave birth quickly because i was able to push harder without so much pain. i heard a woman scream like hell in the next room because she was doing natural stuff. the only natural thing i did was breast feeding after all the medication left my body. the baby must come out fast because the heart rate will drop. thank god for medical science.
@TheWillionare well thats really bad if you need help im here your parents could ask but even though i dont know you you sound like a really good guy keep up the good work and ive do that before.
@nolovelost92 How about these thoughts? "Overpopulation will take care of itself, like everything else." "The concepts 'consent', 'need', 'hell' and 'deprivation' exist only in thought." "Nothing is 'objectively preferable' to anything else because 1) preference is subjective by definition and 2) you can make the whole distinction only in thought." "Suffering can be beautiful."
A doula? With a first time pregnancy?? PLEASE tell me that there was a doctor on call!!! After all ... it's NOT about the labor and delivery ... it's about having a healthy baby, and a healthy mother.
@catherineg1963 she had a midwife for medical care, which is the care provider of choice in countries with better maternal and fetal outcomes than America has. The doula is for physical and emotional support, why in the world wouldn't she want a doula for her first baby?
Wow, to be such an awesome, NATURAL childbirthing video.... some people are really rude. I feel that the cursing and the "F" word is extrememly ignorant. She took the time to share this with THOSE THAT IT MAY HELP and there are people like "THIS" that just ruin. Any way to just DELETE those particular comments!?
Wow what a wonderful "story" and thank you SO much for sharing this. As I was searching videos (in need of a few to help my daughter who is pregnant and @ 7 1/2 months) I came across yours and after watching others, realized I don't even need any more... yours showed it ALL!! So, thank you! This was awesome! And don't mind others on here who are just extremely arrogant. And yes she did the right thing... walking is good!! Especially if she is not dilated.
I'm watching your video right now out of curiosity & it's pretty loud when you were having contraptions. I hope my parents are not thinking i'm watching porn! Lol
I just wanted to tell you that your videos helped me so much...My labor did not go as planned. This was baby number three after two natural labors I was confronted with a VERY difficult labor with my smallest baby. This is a process to reckon with so setting rigid expectations sets you up for disappointment. Thanks for the back massager instructions!!! This helped me soooo much.
@shanesandra Aw, Sandra, thanks for your message. With labor, we got to roll with it as we never know what we're gonna get :). LOL! We can have the best laid plans but God's in charge. Glad that you and baby are doing well despite the challenging birth. XO.
hey! please can you approve my video response. it's for a new forum i have created for mums, mums to be and mummy wannabees. It's called mums and wannabees. Come join us and be part of the adventure! it's free . Thanks! You can link off my video too if you would like!
Congratulations!! What a wonderful birth and you and your husband were great! You mentioned a lot of back pain. Was the baby "face-up" or occiput postierior and then turned? You made fantastic birthing noises....great job! I'm so happy that you look back and feel good about your birth. Best of Wishes!!
@LeslieDoula No! He was anterior position. I even did the Webster technique to be sure he was in "ideal" position. I think my pelvis is a little on the small side and he got "stuck." It was really with the pushing that I had trouble.
@MamaNaturalBlog : ah, I see! It was a lot of work for you to go through strong pushing for such a long time. I think you did an amazing job and I'm very grateful that you shared your birth with us. Thank you! My fourth child was also anterior but her shoulder was "caught" on the left part of my pelvis and no matter what I did...and I tried everything I could think of...she was definately "stuck". I pushed for hours and was exhausted. I can empathize with you! Great job! Hugs, Leslie
@LeslieDoula Thanks so much for your kind words! You obviously *get it* as you've been there! LOL! What a great gift that you're a doula as your pain/experience can help others! XO.
@MamaNaturalBlog : Thank you! I am pleased that I can share with other moms my own personal experiences. All four of my births were very unique and not alike each other. So, I have a wide arrangement of different wonderful things and also things that didn't go as planned. I am always honored to attend a woman by her side as she labors and births. It is quite amazing even after 15 years! :)
How did you find a birthing center? Is this a separate area of the hospital or a different place entirely? I've heard it's really hard to follow your birth plan in a hospital environment.
@rosestainedglass It was a separate part of the hospital. Yes, you will need to research and find a good hospital that will work with you. They are out there.
@gunesgun Absolutely! Some people have very little pain... that's why it's so important to have people share their experiences because it can vary so much.
@MamaNaturalBlog right. but I had the epıdural because the nurses told me ıt ıs goıng to get really bad. so I got scared and asked for ıt at 5 cm apart. but ı was handınglıng ıt untıl then.. the epıdural dıdnt gıve me the urge to push.a lot of women talk about the urge to push. ı dont know what that ıs lıke. ı pushed because the nurse asked me to -she saıd when ever you get the contractıon just push.weırd. ı ended up wıth a bad tear because vacuum was used on me.
I am happy that you could handle this. As for me...I recommend an Epidural any day any time. I had the most wonderful birthing experience and have no memories of pain. Yay for Epidurals!!!
i had back labour with both my daughters, however the birth of my second was far more intense and far more painful. kudos to you for you beautiful birth :D ox
@sabbynator That's the Hypnobabies birthing CD - supposed to help ease the pain of a natural childbirth. Don't think it worked any wonders, but it's nice sounds for the background.
I just wanted to tell you that I think you and your family are great! I'm still young and just started college, but when I am ready to have kids someday I hope I can be as strong and as heartfelt as you! You are truly inspirational! And Griffin is probably the most beautiful baby I have ever seen! God bless
Your doing awesome so far... Haven't watched part 2 yet. When I got to the hospital with my 2nd baby ... 1st natural birth.... I was also 5cm, which was my goal. It was an awesome feeling of accomplishment!!!! 2nd labors go sooo much faster. Kudos to you for doing it with your first!!!
It is when the baby is facing forward (or the mom's belly) in the womb. This position can sometimes lead to a more complicated and painful birth (i.e. back labor). Most babies turn as they prepare for birth.
Great video. Huge congrats on your natural birth :) I made that same sound through my 20 hrs of natural labor lol. I remember hearing something strange - like a cow mooing - and then realising it was me lol.
Wow, you are amazing!! I am 31 weeks tomorrow (Sunday) FTM and scared to death of contractions but you got to 7 cm and looked as cool as a cucumber!! I'm writing my birth plan this week so there is hope :) Cant wait for pt 2 :) Congratulations
@Gucci2401 Thanks! You will do great! Just remember that your body is meant to do this! AND the reward on the other side is so grand! Good luck with everything and let me know how it goes!
@MamaNaturalBlog I sincerely hope so and i will let you know how my experience goes when that day finally comes in November! Quick question, how did the labor and birth compare to the epic toothache and extraction you also went threw?? :)
@Gucci2401 More intense but shorter pain. The tooth saga lasted days and days... throbbing and unrelenting. Labor is sharper, more intense, more demanding but it's OVER relatively FAST and it's exciting too. Plus, you have major reward on other side :)>

some women can take it and others don't. in my case, i was angry and wanted quit area in the hospital. i took the shot and gave birth quickly because i was able to push harder without so much pain. i heard a woman scream like hell in the next room because she was doing natural stuff. the only natural thing i did was breast feeding after all the medication left my body. the baby must come out fast because the heart rate will drop. thank god for medical science.

After all ... it's NOT about the labor and delivery ... it's about having a healthy baby, and a healthy mother.
catherineg1963 6 months ago
@catherineg1963 she had a midwife for medical care, which is the care provider of choice in countries with better maternal and fetal outcomes than America has. The doula is for physical and emotional support, why in the world wouldn't she want a doula for her first baby?

Wow, to be such an awesome, NATURAL childbirthing video.... some people are really rude. I feel that the cursing and the "F" word is extrememly ignorant. She took the time to share this with THOSE THAT IT MAY HELP and there are people like "THIS" that just ruin. Any way to just DELETE those particular comments!?
takendall77 6 months ago
Wow what a wonderful "story" and thank you SO much for sharing this. As I was searching videos (in need of a few to help my daughter who is pregnant and @ 7 1/2 months) I came across yours and after watching others, realized I don't even need any more... yours showed it ALL!! So, thank you! This was awesome! And don't mind others on here who are just extremely arrogant. And yes she did the right thing... walking is good!! Especially if she is not dilated.

LeslieDoula 8 months ago
@LeslieDoula No! He was anterior position. I even did the Webster technique to be sure he was in "ideal" position. I think my pelvis is a little on the small side and he got "stuck." It was really with the pushing that I had trouble.
MamaNaturalBlog 8 months ago 2

I've heard it's really hard to follow your birth plan in a hospital environment.
rosestainedglass 9 months ago
@rosestainedglass It was a separate part of the hospital. Yes, you will need to research and find a good hospital that will work with you. They are out there.

@sabbynator That's the Hypnobabies birthing CD - supposed to help ease the pain of a natural childbirth. Don't think it worked any wonders, but it's nice sounds for the background.
Best of luck with your second childbirth!

zia786ize1 1 year ago
It is when the baby is facing forward (or the mom's belly) in the womb. This position can sometimes lead to a more complicated and painful birth (i.e. back labor). Most babies turn as they prepare for birth.

MamaNaturalBlog 1 year ago
@MamaNaturalBlog I sincerely hope so and i will let you know how my experience goes when that day finally comes in November! Quick question, how did the labor and birth compare to the epic toothache and extraction you also went threw?? :)
Gucci2401 1 year ago
@Gucci2401 More intense but shorter pain. The tooth saga lasted days and days... throbbing and unrelenting. Labor is sharper, more intense, more demanding but it's OVER relatively FAST and it's exciting too. Plus, you have major reward on other side :)>
