Clearly this was not a joke in good spirit. I would venture to guess that Zoeller was frustrated by his poor round. Perhaps he was thinking of how he had had grand plans for his career, his game was unsteady, and everyone was talking about this new kid. Woods plays brilliantly, Zoeller had just finished, perhaps his blood sugar was low, and any question posed to him about Woods felt like a taunt.
No matter what, a very ugly moment. A triple insult against a great golfer performing a miracle.

Fuzzy's reputation was destroyed because Tiger Woods did nothing to defend it. Woods should have taken the high road and laughed about the situation. Also, serve fried chicken and collard greens the following year, and I am sure Fuzzy will be the first to sit down and eat and make peace with you. VJ Singh tried to get Tiger to help Fuzzy out but he chose to let him hang out to dry. Fuzzy made a silly comment and I don't for a moment think it was racist just an ill advised attempt at a joke. In many ways it was a complement to Woods as he was really saying Tiger will win the tournament.
