  • I could listen to these guys for hours and hours, but the only thing I would ask is PLEASE DON¨T DANCE!!! It is goddamn creepy, especially Patitucci....makes me cringe no matter the fact I am not the one dancing, LOL.

  • AMAZING, MUSIC OF GOD'S..

  • buen tema electrik band lo maximoooo!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow!!

  • This was a great band, but man they looked goofy trying to dance and look hip. Please God no! Stick to fusion shred fellas...

  • a dream team on stage

  • oh memories, this first song i ever heard from Chick Corea, love it.

  • I love Patitucci's sund on that red bass, It's either a Lado or a Lag, can't remember :)

  • It was a Lag Bass

  • this band was just about the "house band" on Arsenio's old show. They did Time Piece one night and blew the doors off.

  • this reminds me of my childhood. My father use to play this before he passed on. I love you DAD!!! God Bless your soul. You'll forever live on in me I still remember how great jazz was and how much it taught me.... this is TRUE music and talent!!

  • That is one blistering mafuggin' sax solo...damn.

  • masterrrr

  • Chick Corea:

Great to listen to, not to watch.

They're all painfully white but make some damn good music :P

  • Thats the new name for my band.....Painfully White....i like that!

  • HAHAHA!!!! "painfully white" YESSS!!!! u sir just made my day. i owe you one! BTW, wouldnt that be a cool name for a band?

  • actually, Steve Smith (from Vital Information) used to have a band back in MA named "Not Bad For White Guys".

  • It's soooo 80's lol. Chick is the best.

  • and that´s good. I still love this song. It´s one of their best

  • COME ON, just because the second album is more groove oriented instead of crazy bebop stuff doesn't mean its boring. just cause its easier to listen doesn't make it cheezy or without effort.

  • Cool

  • does anybody know what is that bass that Patitucci is using?

  • He used to use ESP basses but this one looks like it might be a custom job by an LA luthier.

  • wow, ESP, I wouldn't believe that he used to use ESP. And that's because ESP has reputation of heavy metal guitars and basses. in my opinion

    Peace, and thanks for information

  • @Gorgalisin That's a Sadowski bass

  • @Gorgalisin This is a LAG bass, what he was using primarily at the time. Interesting that the CD notes the instruments most of them used in each track, and for this one on the "Light Years" Patitucci used both "Yamaha BB5000, LAG bass". Note the comma between the basses used, the CDnotes said that when you saw a "instrument 1/instrument 2" note for example (wiith a slash), both instruments were "layered (midi) with one another. So maybe the , means he used both at diff times, but this is a LAG.

  • ...I think, the video is kind of fuzzy, but that doesn´t look like a Sadowsky peghead. But I could be wrong...

  • @lalbruiz LAG used to make a great basses....long ago i had a chance to chek one of them...LAG Force 5......great bass ....what hapend with this company?

  • @Gorgalisin If you ask about the 6 string it's a Ken Smith....about the 4..sorry i dont know!!!! I know that usualy he use a Sadowsky basses for slap but about this one i am not sure!

  • eric marienthal was and continue to this day to be the man

  • Does that suggest you are bored by this film?

  • This whole album is zzzzzzzzzzz, really. The first Electric Band album with Scott Henderson is the good one.

  • Is that Frankenstein on guitar?

  • No thats the best guitarist on the planet Frank Gambale

  • Well I wouldn't say he's the best. The best doesn't exist for one. Yes I know who he is. Was just joking about.

  • I know what you mean though. He looked worse at a clinic I went to in 91.

  • The best exists...but it's not Frank. It's Allan.

  • Alan Partridge?

  • No, but he is English. :)

  • Love their 'dancing' :D

  • hombreras y pantalones con pinzas!!! puuajjj

    pero tremendo batero

    great drummer!!!

  • GROOVE!!!

  • Eric Marienthal KILLS IT ON THE SAX SOLO!!!! 2 THUMBS WAY UP!!! HOT SOLO!!!

  • this is noy light years.its called rumble

  • It's definitely not Rumble.. that's a super fast fusion workout, and this is mid-tempo funk.

  • yeah you're right.my bad

  • This is definitely Light Years

  • Johhny P is a funky bastard..

  • What a awesome solo of Eric Marienthal , the piece is written in (for sax alto) in the key C sharp and he plays this awesome solo over it, by the way; this performance has won a grammy award for best instrumental performance

  • Great!!!!!!!!

  • Perfect funky song

    incluso tienen myspace altamente recomendados

    Saludos!!

  • amazing composition.jazz is forever, mtv whatever..if only kids these days know how to search out and value real music & not that marketing crap they're dishing out as entertainment >P

  • yeah those darn kids and their tomfoolery...

  • eh not all of us are like that. I've loved this stuff since I was 16, I just had no exposure to this type of music until I was looking for better drummers to listen and came across weckl. Now I'm school for jazz studies and transcribe him constantly. If people like P-Diddy supported it more and more funding for music in the schools, the world would be a different place.

  • ...aw my god...what are you dreamin' of....???

  • @schwene2 hey man, I'm not my generation... some of us still appreciate this.

  • and I still love them in 2007.

  • great music by great musicians == timeless...

  • lol yeah 80's crappy digital synth sounds

  • Eric Marienthal y patitucci INMENSOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great music.

  • i think this performance had a grammy nomination

  • now i see who fred hammond and micheal brooks listened to!

  • eric marienthal is amazing,he could nt play a better solo

  • take me back to those days..... I wouldn't miss a show!!

  • Gods. Do you want play with them?

  • dave weckl's good but not with the restof them

  • not a fan of Marienthal's playing, his Seven Steps to Heaven tenor solo with GRP was alright

  • haha this is just too great

  • marienthal's altissimo is so fat and round, and he does it all without a mullet.

saw him with gordon goodwin - he was the shit.

  • EM has a mullet, but Gambale's got a RUG! LMAO!

  • Why do I seem to remeber this from TV? Was it on a certain show or something?

  • eric marienthal is just too good

  • This shit is HILARIOUS! Good vibes too, but funny shit!

  • I saw this concert with my uncle !!

  • too gay, althought they're not bad separately of each other.

  • mullets, LA fashions, cheesy FM fusion, hey, thanks Chick! that was a contribution the music world really needed!

  • I don't think Chick invented the mullet, or LA fashion.

  • and he didn't invent cheesy FM fusion either but he certainly embraced it all! This is a product of the LA music scene, it's as superficial as most of what passes for entertainment in that part of the world. I mean I like the players but I just find the music tasteless. Though I do like that track View From the Outside of this album, but that's because of the groove weckl lays down.

  • Very true. I like listening to Light Years, but it's definitely a guilty pleasure. One of those things that I like, but don't really consider that good. View from the Outside is my favorite cut, too. funny....

  • wow john pre six string
