  • i think he just wanted to play with your dog man and maybe he thinks you were going to eat your dog and that is why he was alerting your dog. That is what i think

  • Check out my first video of a dog chasing a light

  • oh i think the fox want to play with dog cuz he is alone this how i think

  • Vixen needs her eyes tested! She is trying to court the dog, pure mating call at end.

  • This is too cool

  • Fog

  • i think that noise is a mating call what foxes do o.o

  • Swiper no swiping! Swiper no swiping! Swiper no swiping!

  • I hate Foxes and wouldn't let my dog near them..

  • @xoxcollaxox You must be a google chrome fan!

  • I don't think that I ever have heard a howling sound from a fox before. Interesting. Looks like the fox really took an interest in your dog.

  • That lady says, "Isnt that great, good go play."

But what she's really saying is "Oh dear lord I hope are dog has his rabies vaccine.

  • @PackLeaderAlee not all foxes have rabies. that fox was perfectly healthy

  • "OOOH Man."

  • That is the fox mating call-hope your dog is not a female or is at least fixed.

  • What a cool video :o)

  • Fox - " I'll get you next time if it's the last thing i do!"

  • Fox bark at the end is cute. Looks like Foxy wants its friend back.

  • i luv this video, fantastic footage, good on you!!!

That fox is soooo cheeky, gorgeous!!!

Sweet temperament of you doggy too!

  • ooh i luv that fox, beautiful!!!

  • That looks like a wonderful place to live! :D

  • female fox in heat??

  • Stupid phone posted 'fore I was even close.

Is it just me or is the fox yipping playfully 3:00?

Heh, that's sound that the onomatopoeia "yiff" came from. Stupid people turn so many things into dirty words....

  • Is it just me or

  • she ill fight ith my other female dog but i dont let her lose to find out if she ill try to kill anything she ill chase bird rabbits and squarils lil animals and try to go after horse but i wont take her around them anymore afraird she will get lose and get hurt she will go up to almost anyone but males and she will just run an run an run thats all she loves to do her eyes are bright brown and her coat is red like the fox coat and white and sum black threw it and she has a fluffy curl tail

  • what camera is that, nice picture

  • wow thats cool trying to see of my dog is part fox it looks it but idk

  • @rebelcup I don't know if Foxes can mate with Dogs your Dog could possibly be part Coyote maybe because Coyotes and Wolves are known to mate with Dogs. And a Coyote looks kinda like a fox but bigger and brown colored fur.

  • @TheCajunGambit1 Idk but her color and her eyes what make look it and she wild in my book got pic of her but it wont let me post the link

  • @rebelcup Yea I would say your Dog could possibly be part Coyote which is called a Coydog or Dogote sometimes. Or Part Wolf which are Wolf Hybrids, Does it act wild like does it show Coyote or Wolf like behavior like by howling killing wild animals etc? Wolves and Coyotes are the only wild animals that I know of that mate with and can produce offspring with Dogs. I haven't heard anything about Dogs that are half Foxes so I'm not sure if they mate with Dogs.

  • I jumped out of my skin when I heard the fox bark. But how wonderful it was to see the fox and dog interacting. It just goes to show you that no matter what species you are or how different you might initially seem, having fun is universal.

  • they are friends its simple

  • i hate it when men who think there hard use 50 dogs to kill 1 fox, i love fox,s there so smart and elegant

  • the way the fox is circling it. seems to me the fox is distracting the dog, It may have pups in a den and didn't want the dogs to find them.

  • @jess401 - Doubtful. The fox would not have put the den so close to a home with a dog which runs around like that AND if the den were that close, the people would have seen the cubs at some point. There was a den with 4 cubs at the end of my neighbours garden and I watched them this past spring. They are very quick and will hide at the first sign of danger but they didn't do anything with the next door neighbours dog even though the den was only in the next garden. They are elusive creatures

  • @FredericaBimble If the foxes den had been there before the property then the animal will guard it and stay till the pups are old enough to be relocated. If the animal has been hand fed by humans it's likely the fox will stay for food

  • lol the fox and the hound have extreamly diffreent body languages . omg that poor fox is lonely

  • @wackyweed57 - That's what I thought. He was lying down and rolling around like he was inviting the dog to come and play with him. At the end when he let out the loud "bark" he was saying, "come back!" The dog just looked like he didn't want to know.

I've watched foxes for about 4 years now out my front and back door and I can identify what their squeals and squeaks and barks often indicate.

  • lol the fox and the hound have extreamly diffreent body languages

  • There were foxes in my garden one night. They don't usually come round our area, i thought it was a person screaming at first, it was really haunting.

  • Holy shit, 4:05 scared the shit out of me.

  • @DakotaMartinache of all the things to come out of a fox that was the last thing I expected

  • You wouldn't see a fox in our garden our lurcher sees to that. Foxes have become too easy now she has moved onto badgers. Good girl... they dig up all our vegetables

  • WTF?? rooooww!! rooow! *translation* get cho fluffy ass back over here so we can play!!!!!

  • thats a crazy sound!

  • Yeah my bird look more like a fox then that dog lol

  • Should of shot that fucking animal

  • @dustintml - Why? You've been taught to take your anger out on other beings. You are doing what someone else has told you to do. You are not making your own choices and have allowed someone else to make them for you. If guns were never invented then you and others like you would find some other way to vent your frustration at your lack of freedom yet others get along just fine because they ARE free and they make their own choices. Ask yourself why you would shoot this animal.

  • That fox is totally trying to lure that dog into the woods, so him and his other fox friends can eat that dog for dinner. "Oh...come play with me, I'm sooooo cute aren't I?"

  • @timmytapeworm13 I don't think Foxes do that I think Wolves and Coyotes do that though. And that Dog would kill Foxes lol.

  • lol ur dog is like coming!!

and then he looks back wait wtf are you doing following me?!

and then the fox is like awww but i wanna play!

  • Now that is one sly fox..

  • lol Wild E fox and sheep dog lol

  • Very cute ^^

Also, what kind of camera did you use for recording this?

  • I hate to crush your dreams but your dog looks NOTHING like a fox. Holy fuck. I mean absolutely nothing like one.

  • At the end when the fox screechs u can hear some foxes in the background screeching back to him after he is done!!

  • Awww I know that the foxes bark sounds really spooky and scary but

he was just saying "Come back and Play!"

That reminds me of that Disney movie the fox and the hound

what a playful and friendly young fox!!!

  • aaaaaaw the fox is soo cute!!!!

  • the fox thinks the dog i another fox and wants to play

  • Fox screams seem to be the equivalent of a cat meowing...

  • I hope your dog is up to date on it's rabies... a fox out in the day time in an area populated by humans is normally a red flag for rabies.

  • @XMittensX that fox is to calm to have rabies...

  • I ABSOULUTLY LUV THOSE NOISES!! hahahahahahaaaaa

  • Dude could you imagine if you were in the woods alone at night and then you just started hearing that foxs I would probably shit myself

  • @AahkariyahMeberak that happened to me a my girlfriend cos we lived right next to woods and we were taking dog out in the early hours, it was very freeky, now i know foxes do it to their young and it's a harmless sound, but at the time we thought someone was getting murdered and we were running through with phone light on shouting where are you? are you OK? shitting ourselves lol True Story

  • The fox was screaming out " Come back! plz? No? u ditcher!" lol :)

  • This is so awesome! I didn't know the fox made sounds like that. :o)

  • aww u made the foxy sad

  • What state/city was this shot in? It looks the Pacific Northwest, I didn't there were red foxes up there.. nice, chance video.. really funny how your dog reacted, most go crazy when a fox is around them.

  • i have a fox near my houe. they're cool and harmless. but it's still a wild animal and i wouldn't have my dog playing with a wild animal.

  • Wow! You're dog looks A LOT like my dog.

  • what a beautiful fox!

  • I liked in the mountain in Cali and my dog had 10 pups and 1 fox would make those curling crys and our dog would go to where the fox crys were to only have another fox come up on the other side to snatch a pup....we could hear the pup crying as it was being taken off. As they say Sly as a Fox.

  • =(( so sad...how many pups had fox taken?

  • Amazing behavior between the dog and fox. Clearly neither felt threatened by the other, though the fox had more of an interest in the dog than the dog did in the fox. I love the way it kept calling the dog at the end.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • Can someone please tell me what that noise the fox made is for? I had a grey fox in my backyard last night that made that noise. It kept walking towards me and then would run away doing that. It really freaked me out. I dont know if it was scared or what the noise was for... Answers please....

  • what does a dog bark for? or a person speak for?

its the same concept. it isnt rocket it science haha.

  • nice place

  • a fox isnt nearly as dangerous as a dog my friend.

the only way a fox is dangerous is when it is cornered. its not going to be dumb and try to attack a dog.

  • @ExileCanadaMetal Yea Foxes aren't too dangerous to be too worried about, A Coyote or a wild Wolf on the other hand you might want to watch after. But by me we get no Wolves just Foxes and Coyotes, In fact if Coyotes are in the area I hear Foxes give up their territory because Coyotes will kill Foxes.

  • he says

    "COME BACK!!!!" haha

    its soooo cute.

  • indeed.

  • Splendid video, one of the best (love foxes) and what a beautiful yard, the trees and water beyond that.

  • Aw the fox wanted to play some more.

  • That is great! Nice post!

  • Don't you love them :) we have a female fox, we think, that comes in our yard during spring to have pups. Makes these wonderful noises at three AM. It gives me chills up my spine when i hear her. They are beautiful...but WOW are they loud!

  • To be honest, I'd be happy to have something like that wake me up in the morning. My alarm clock just doesn't seem to do the trick anymore... lol.

  • Problem is.. the one in my yard does it between 3-8 am :) So you will never know...well she does it anytime there aren't people out driving around..lol haha

We used to have a rooster in my neighborhood that would roam around and go off at 5 am every morning :)

  • that was scary it sounds like a girl screaming

  • foxes look cool

  • It looks like the fox wanted the dog to come back to play with him :D

  • i think so to it was trying to bark like a dog so the dog would come back out to play

  • Lol xD Human... barking :P Well, you dog had a nice experience :P

  • Beautiful yard! I never knew what kind of sounds foxes make, kinda creepy.

  • O.o it sounded like the fox was saying "run!!" lol i thought it was funny caus the dogs runnin away and the fox is like "yea thts rite run!!" XD

  • omfg. that scream thing scared the shit out of me. lol. but i still want to cuddle it.

  • The fox isn't just "chasing" the dog. Look at the behavior: calling, laying down, occasionally rolling over. This is a mating behavior and "wow" is a red fox mating call. From the behavior, I'd guess that the I suppose the fox is female and the dog male? (The dog is either clueless or neutered).

  • The way the fox weaves right and left both in approach and in retreat is just stunning! Great video!

  • haha cute ^^

  • Lol i hear that fucked up noise nearly every night in my garden.

  • same

  • Comment removed

  • theres a fox making this noise outside my house RIGHT NOW.

is it a distress call or what?

  • Lol i hear that fucked up noise nearly every night in my garden.

  • yeah having one as a pet would be wicked! I have thought about it many times!

  • the noise sounds funny

    WHAT

  • I want one as a pet

  • Yeah another thing is yeah the ending kinda creeped me out! I've been very close to foxes before but if it started yelling at me....I'd kinda be scared of it! This is a sweet video!

  • I hear it all the time! Foxes live right near our house and they are so cute!

  • That fox noise was scary!
