The C5 corvette convertible was never offered with a power top. Starting in 2005 with the C6 the Corvette now has a power top option. Also there are two latches on the windshield header for the C5 top, and one central latch/handle for the C6. I never thought about it with the C5 because it wasn't an option, but on the C6 I actually prefer the manual top. The power top takes 18 seconds to go up or down....I can easily beat that with the manual top on both the C5 and C6.
If the manual top goes up and down that quickly, who needs a power top? Just more weight and complexity.

how much I love the corvette conv. ill never understand why the c 5s were never power top. That is the worst thing about this car
