  • No 1 the day I was born. Yeah Well I.

  • Esta canción me encanta. Quería pedir un favor grande. Traducirla por favor. Les agradecería mucho.

  • Keren! Ingat Jaman Muda.

Live in Jakarta, Indonesia Jan 31, 2012

  • Rod Stewart no es GAY.....es SEXY......porsiacaso!!!

  • baby jane ilove song se la dedico a alberati baby alberati

  • bueno y unico

  • Rod forever

  • WOW can you belive MTV was a real music channel not a sellout network?

Real bands and musicians used to play on MTV (from Rod Stewart to Metallica, Dire Straits to Extreme, The Ramones to Queen, Pink Floyd to Led Zeppelin...), now it's all about the money, you can even rarely listen to music on MTV (and when you do it's still crap like those reality shows)... Those guys turned into posers.

Kick the sellouts, bring back good old ROCK AND ROLL and good old MTV.

  • This was number 1 on the day I was born :)

  • Rod is a star. as Bryan Adams, Ray Charles, Boyzllmen-Aretha franklin-Micheal Jackson.... Fuck Bieber and .....Pure shit, I hope my kids (now 5 and 2 months) listen to this rather than the 2010's bullcrap. This song was number one 1 year before my birth. Cool

  • Just found out this song was number one when i was born........ how disappointing

  • @Cblacker4 Me too. My birthday song too. How awesome! :)

  • He is amazing "Nineteen רצועת הביטחון -קליפ מחאה.avi "

  • INFINITE WOWS!!! TO DEFINE BEAUTIFUL DREAMS I PICK THIS SONG!!! THE 80's TRULY MESMERIZE TO MAKE SOULS COME ALIVE!!!

  • great song but the sound quality is not so good - I remember this time back then..

  • I was also born on the 4th of July in 1983 when this was number 1.

  • i was born in the week, when this was nr 1 ^^

  • God i love 3:03-3:20 is so great and sensual

  • the only song good by rod stewart

  • Hard to forget the fact that in 1985 Rod Stewart played 10 shows @ Sun City.

At the time Sun City was a resort conceived & built as a propaganda exercise by the apartheid regime of South Africa.

What Sun City needed next was international fame. If regime could attract international icons they'd demonstrate that their rule was "ok".

UN had already issued a cultural boycott, and would thus black list anyone who defied it. Many artists were approached...Rod Stewart was one of the few who agreed.

  • ...MTV played this song to death....it was on high rotation....it was on like every hour.....so many memories come back when I hear this....a great time for MTV......

  • Traducelo al Españoooooooooooooooollllllllll

  • Awesome song and awesome vid! This is back when music and videos were clever and the artists had creativity not like the crap of today. Long live the 80's!!!

  • @80sMusicFan1985 - AGREED!!!! The 80's had the BEST music EVER, and I will say that forever!!

  • 10 peoples are believers, rod stewart is the best!!!! greetings for mexico

  • love this!

  • Ready Player One

  • Живи вечно, Род!!!! Возвращаюсь без машины времени в молодость! Спасибо тебе!!!

  • My dad used to listen to this song and other great ones on his Sony tapedeck, when I was a child. I remember trying to find the same casette all the time. When I did, I put a mark on it, so next time all I had to do just pop it in when my dad wasn't around. He was really miffed if someone else played with his Sony for what he paid a fortune back then. It wasn't easy to operate a HiFi System when you are only 4 yrs old...

  • @lolakissx

that is to funny! Love the genius idea of putting a mark on things you're too young to read. I ruined many many vinyl LPs that older brother had and I couldn't afford as an 8 yr old.

  • He is amazing!!!!

  • I just love rod stewart

  • When MTV used to play music videos, MTV 80's rocks.

  • que de souvenirs pitin !!!!

  • j avais 18 ans ....pfff

  • finally found the song!!!!!!!! ^_^

  • Thumbs up if this is your Favorite Rod Stewart song!!!

  • @umasheika I cannot see how anyone can think this is his best -- definitely a different type of person -- Stewart was much better in the early 70's.

  • @moniskazz I AGREE!!!!!

  • Rod Stewart - this is a musician, a singer, a STAR.

not Bieber, Gomez, Cyrus or other shits.

  • @moniskazz totally right!

  • Rod Stewart en Lima el 15 de Octubre 2011.

  • Rod gets cooler with age, and he is high on my list of singers I want to see live.

  • This is certainly one the best songs of the '80s - the video can certainly lay claim to be among the top five! This one and Bowie's China Girl defined 1983 for me. Thanks for posting :-)

  • LA plus belle chanson de rod stewart et une des plus belles des années 80!

  • Aaaahhhhh ........ DIVINE

  • Absolut zeitlos!

  • CLASSIC! they don't make em like this anymore.

  • Cancionazo impresionante. Great, but great!, song.

  • Rod Stewart is one of those guys who would never get old (musically speaking).

  • Das waren noch Zeiten. Rod Stewart und Robin Gibb hatten 1983 gleich zwei ewige Ohrwürmer und Sommerhits!

  • My mom loves this song, It's Amazing :D

  • for me im 14 urs old i love old songs the new songs are just not the same thing and the older singers that still sing when they have a consert its full (eg the scorpions) and the new singer's songs are lesened to like fo 3 mouths then every one forgets it but the older songs are lesened to every week or even day.... i love clasic songs and i will always do

  • Great song. The 80's ruled!

  • this has got to be the best song EVER!! it reminds me of my dad when i was younge and he use to play it all the time, i just wish i could bring back the old days...LOVE YOU DAD

  • Dedicate this to my ex-husband!

  • @Sapphirous1 looooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • Dedicate this to my ex-husband!

  • ENNNNNN LIMAA PERU OCTUBRE 2011

  • 6 people are total bell ends

  • And on the 4th Day Rod created the 80s, and it was good.

  • NEW FLASH.

MTV plays pop video instead of some stupid documentary about a rappers rented shag-pad or pimped car

  • Written by my friend Jay Davis!

  • Why is it that people like Rod getter cooler with age? All I have to say is that they will still rock after they are dead.

  • @iammontecristo Now that is a very cool assessment!!

  • still can't figure out how these old songs get stronger every day...

  • @leterzzz Because modern music sucks compared to this! Im an 80's child and proud of it! :)

  • DAMN! He's makin' those yellow pants look FINE!!!

  • I am so from the wrong generation- in a musical sense. And I have friends who told me that (with the kind of music I like) I should have grown up in the 80s. And I agree with them about that.

  • 28 whole years old and still Brilliand . Brings back so many memories ...

  • GOOD OLD MTVVVV DAYS :)

  • llevo 10 años aprox escucahndola diario porlo menos una ves no hace falta decir que es mi cancion favorita junto con naila de bronco

  • I was 12 when this song came out, and so did my love affair with the music of the 80's. People where I lived thought I was a bit weird because I listened to "white" music! I loved it then, and I still love it now! Henrietta, Cape Town, South Africa

  • @whoopiist Yep....80's music is the best!! Wink!!

  • @eightiesguy62 I'm SO glad there's other people out there that loves that era as much as I do. A young guy on the bus wondered out loud the other day who Gary Moore was, and I couldn't help but think what these youngsters missed out on :o( , but we didn't :o) !!

  • WOW what a reminder of the MTV intro... and also that our 80s still had that special touch in music. Pitty it slowly disappeared '-(

How much this song meant for me in '89...loved it from head to toe... the sax was superb and the whole video was well done.

5 stars for bringing back some memories ... hiya

  • @Dzolsia Thats Robin Le Mesurier . The other guitar player with the red curly hair is Jim Cregan. The drummer is Tony Brock. Kevin Savigar is the keyboarder. Jimmy Zavala is the Saxophone player and Jay Davis is the bass guitar player.

  • cool

  • Another vid I wished VH1 Classic would start showing.

  • I wish this song was about me, but I was negative 6 years old when this came out. But that does not change the fact that I love Rod Stewart.

  • KLaSyka :)

  • long live Rod!

  • This was great, i loved it to death back in 83 i was 15 on my summer holiday from school. like some of the other vids of the day very colourful and very slick, thanks for posting

  • does anybody know the name of guitarist on the left? 1:28

  • @Dzolsia I was going to ask the same question, he's lovely . Might not be so lovely now though as it was 28 years ago ! Come on somebody , what's his name ?

  • @Dzolsia Just done some online research & it might be Robin Le Mesurier but I'm not 100 % certain .

  • @naja46 right that's he :) but he looks quiet good despite he's in his 60

  • I look this and i just say "why?" I'm a Uruguayan boy, 20 years old and i love this kind of music... why there isn´t more music like this?... Oldies! this is music!...

  • They can give it to Prince if they want to. I still remember when his royal badness was running around in a g-string and a trench coat. I won't argue about who broke down the barriers. It was there and then it was broken. But Michael was there before Prince. Amazing now that Michael is gone so many want to rewrite history.

  • musica maneira, muito boa....

  • Jane, I hope all gone well for you in your life. A french who met you in littlehampton.

  • If people think they didn't play black music in MTV years ago, I think they more than make up for it now! They should change it to NTV

  • @MrRockoRaccoon I used to watch MTV when it first came out and I had to wait 2 hours for one Michael Jackson video. I spent the time watching Euro-trash. Maybe they should have called it ETTV back then.

  • A smirgli hangú 80-as évek stárja a mai napig is supper.

  • What's wrong with that woman's butt?!

  • `the IT of 83

  • I even dont watch MTV any more. But ok, I guess they have now big audience down in Africa.

  • @ARYANSERBIA Black people arent African. Genius.

  • @Sassie917 ??? Point is: if MTV now promote Afro-American music, their audience should be balcks in Africa or Amerika, not whites in Europe or America. just dont know how much money they will earn from blacks

  • @ARYANSERBIA What the hell is afro-american music????? An afro is a hairstyle from the 70's. genius

  • @Sassie917 I consider black musical direction if 90% of bands are black, like it is in hip-hop. Your ear can hear differences between hip hop and country (for example). That is because first has its roots in Africa second in Europe. Since it is not originaly African, but made in America by blacks, that why you can call it Afro-American music. And since MTV owners has some political ideology and goals, they promote black music last 20 years. 17% of USA population has 50% or more of space on mtv

  • This song puts me in such a good mood, love it ;)

  • Have not heard this song in a while!

  • drfulmore07. I wasn't saying that Mtv was racist. I was saying that they were accused of racism for not playing black artists music. Mtv has been very open and forth coming about their hesitantcy to play a lot of black artistis music. I was also saying that the demand for MJ's music helped break down walls for other artists. I use to like Mtv myself. Not now. Too much reality. Not enough music of any kind.

  • @chill2love10 I see what you saying. Also,I've read that Michael really didn't break down the barriers of other black artists to be on MTV. They said that it was Prince.

  • Love this song<3!

  • Mtv was accused of rascism because at one time they refused to play any music by black artists. The excuse was that they didn't play r&b, soul or anything along those lines. Mtv said that it played rock. Black artists responded that it should then be called rock music tv because music television denotes that they play all kinds of music. Mtv continued to resist until a certain moonwalking performer came along and the pressure to play his music was just to great.

  • @chill2love10 I disagree with you. MTV wasn't rascist. Sure they didn't play Kool & The Gang,Earth Wind & Fire and Smokey Robinson but at least you had Tina Turner,Prince,Musical Youth and Eddy Grant before Michael Jackson came along with Billie Jean.

  • I love all the primary colours he wears. Yellow jeans = so cool.

  • i didnt know who sang this but i heard it on the radio n ever since i been wanting to find out, n i just saw it on a music channel on the tv n i found it! finally, see i wasnt born in the 80s n all tht, unfortunately i might add, was a good 10 years for music and film but this is a great tune.

  • Amazing song ... amazing singer .... amazing video ....
