Ancient people would worship the sun due to its significance for agriculture, doesn't mean there is a "sun God." As for China, if true, they were clearly justified in fearing outsiders seeing those pyramids and using it as justification to hold them inferior...you're doing it now. You'd rather believe it was "gods" than believe the Chinese could have built mounds? O.K. Interesting theory, but it simply raises questions, not answers them. You still end up going back to whether we were created or evolved some how, and the reason we can't answer those questions scientifically is that we can't actually go back and reproduce the events and environments that all these things took place in.

Admissable, Why does being "created" have to be different from "evolved some how"? Why can't it be both? And raising questions is the path to higher consciousness. One of the main points he is making is that we simply take in the answers that people give us instead of questioning "Is this true? Is this real? Who says? And why?" He may be creating a unified theory, and maybe not, but for sure he is challenging the story of History.

Well, the one big difference between being created and evolving is that to be created demands that there be a creator, and evolving means practically the opposite. If all we do is question, and never come to answers, then what do we have? I personally like to ask questions in order to get answers. Other than that, there isn't really enough room in this comment page to debate why history should be accepted or not accepted. :D

There are other ways, nonlinear ways, of describing the world we experience that do not depend on answers for understanding. History is a collection of events that WE arrange into a story. He is not challenging "what happened", he's challenging "the story we tell about what happened".

So you're trying to say that we understand history via questions? that we have no answers? That seems a bit pessimistic to me to think that we can't trust or believe anything we're told. To challenge "the story we tell about what happened" is to say there is no literal history, only a figurative perspective of what happened. That is to say, there is no "what happened", only what each individual believes. This could also be referred to as history without absolutes. I simply can't accept that.

I like to come to conclusions so that my mind isn't just hanging out in space. :D I agree wholeheartedly that there are other good and correct perspectives to consider whenever you examine any question or situation. I simply must maintain that they aren't all good, and certainly aren't all correct. It's fun to think there are mysteries unsolved, and we might have been simply looking at them wrong, but we enjoy those mysteries in hopes of one day solving them, not just denying the last answer.
