thought sony was so GOOD so I saved some cash for 10 months and I bought my first laptop (vaio Eseries vpceb34en) but it turned out to be shit, Its better if I could exchange this crap with calculator... it ovr heats, though it has 512 Ati graphic card, 3 gb ram, win 7, core i3 and it runs (mean crawls) like tortoise.

Felt fucked up again when in the service centre that dick did not even try to look what was wrong he directly said that we have to format it.

After formatting it is same.

I have used the Mac and never found the OS more appealing compared to Windows 7. Yes, Mac OS was better than Vista, but Windows 7 has changed everything. If you buy this laptop now from a retailer, it should have Win7 pre-installed. If it doesn't you are being cheated. Don't accept less.

But just in case you bought it with Vista, you can upgrade to Win7 without losing any of the drivers or software that came with the system. However, I suggest you do a clean install of Win7 and re-install all the software from scratch.

Of course look matters. That is probably one of the best selling points of this computer, its the design of it. I'm glad videos have more emphasis on the hardware component of the computer since you can just read the specs on a webpage. And I dont think pictures do it justice.

I am just confused when she said it comes with litescribe.. I'm pretty sure that wasnt on the configuration page when I ordered mine. So I just picked the Blu Ray.

Agreed, VGN-AW125J (looks almost the same) is way better, I have it. There is blu-ray reader and burner, all the crap on that computer and more, nvidia 9600m GT, Core 2 duo 2.26 GHz (not good but better then that laptop) and I got it all for $1600

I checked the Sony style website and I was able to customize an FW series (don't know which one exactly) with blu ray reader/burner, 16.4'' 1600x900 display (though you can choose 1920x1080 but that's too high for a 16'' screen), core2duo centrino at 2.66 and 500gb HDD for $1249.

I don't know about that, but the only thing Macbook Pro's have better is that they are made of all aluminum, have a really nice long lasting battery (though I wouldn't be using a laptop for 7 hours straight from just the battery), are very light and thin...and I guess Mac OSX Leopard is just great and very easy to use (also you have the apple remote which is nice)...but none of that is worth $2000 and up ('cause the basic one has very low specs for $1699)...
