Isn't the ring supposed to choose someone? I mean it's not like whoever puts on the ring earns its power, the ring chooses the person. So being the penguin is wearing the ring, wouldn't that mean the ring would go against him?

@Nizzemancer you actually do see it, and your not far off actually. its only one panel but you see yellow bats flying around him. I imagine there being a lot of strange devilish bats and huge mutant bats that sort of thing. But I can't see him relying on much else than the gadgets and his own instinct and skill it would almost seem unnatural for him to use anything else.

Those writers had to be bored to death or really hit a stonewall with writer's block. As a Green Lantern fan , allowing the Penguin to get control of a Lantern ring is one the worst ideas for a story they could have come up with but in all fairness perhaps i should watch the entire episode and know the whole storyline before make such a harsh assessment. Just seems so far-fetched at first glance.

And that character would not be him, if for no reason other than the fact that Kyle has black hair, and the character who appeared there clearly did not have black hair. Also of note, Hal Jordan is the greatest and most famous of all Green lantern's ... so why would you be disappointed to see him there? It would make sence to have him on the show.
