Liotta's character even reacts to this, when Tommy is about to get made he comes to the bar and asks "what happened to Stacks... the feds are all over the place". And finally, DeNiro's character reacts quite clearly when he wrecks a phone booth and starts crying upon hearing about the death of Tommy. Your comment is very unfounded.
