Currently moveon.org are trying to take control of this movement and turn it into a base of support for Obama administration and democratic canditates.

Many occupiers identify with the democratic party and are suceptible to facilitaitng this attempt through their votes in our General Assemblies.

We are trying to stop it. That is why you have seen occupiers and crowds vote to stop democratic canditates from speaking at the occupations but some of these votes have been close.

THere are those trying to hijack this movement for poltical gain. The movement does have a left of center population but our non-ideological ant-corruption agenda has a braoder base and captures the center of the American public.

There is an active and aware core group in the occupation movements. We are communicating with each other and warning of attempts to hijack, discredit, or derail the movment.

It does not matter what party affiliation you identify with. it does not matter what you ideology is.

THis is a movement of disinfranchised voters taking back their government. A movement to end corruptiona and kleptocracy. To make our elected officals accountable to us. To make the voice of the American people relevant again.

This is the first time a homeless man defecated on a police car in new york city. So the protest movement is not the variable that caused this. Since this behavior existed before the occupation.

Hell, if a person is peniless and homeless on a cold night in NYC climbing on the hood of a police car and defecating in order to get arrested and a warm place to sleep may be argued to be the actions of a rational ecnomic actor

Sex out in the open: Were children involved? If not - then not a big deal, and logically inevitable when you have several hundred men and women sleeping together under the stars.

If protesters are resorting to extended public sleeping (a lawful form of protest) sanitation is inevitably going to be a problem. However, the city has a responsibility to the public good to adress this. Their methods so far has been to try to force the protesters to leave first.

There has been other initiative offered tot he city to address the sanitation but the city is blocking them. They know that the sanitation effects the protesters more and are hoping it will break the resolve of the occupation.

If it is marijuana then who cares?

If it other drugs there is nothing the stopping the cops from enforcing it other than their own discretion.

@0past Show me the statistic where more than half of government revenue comes from consumption? It doesn't, sorry. Main source is from the progressive income taxes. Here is what the IRS says about that:

- The "richest" 25% pays 86% of all federal income taxes

- The "richest" half pays 97% of all federal income taxes

- The "richest" 1% pays almost 40% of all federal income taxes

Of total government tax revenue more than 50% is from consumption taxes.

In fact Individual Income taxes make up only 42% of Federal and 20% of total governemnt tax revenue. Coproate income taxes are less than 10% Federal.

So payroll and consumption - both regressive taxes make up the bulk of overall government tax revenue.
