The bill can be one page.... Single payer medicare for all Americans.... it would leave NO ONE BEHIND and all Americans would be covered.... This current bill was written by the insurance companies... it's outrages.. and NOW there trying to water down the public option which was already watered down.... The insurance companies will be smiling from ear to ear if the democrats don't toughen up very quickly....

I also have a preexisting health issue. I refuse to make my fellow Americans pay more taxes because I believe that my "privilege" is a right. I'm forever thankful to my fellow citizens for their kindness. Instead of punishing(taxing)the rest of the population for our misfortune, we should reward them. We should ask that we're allowed to work without loosing our health benefits. If we were able to work, if only part-time without loosing our benefits, it would most likely prove more constructive.

The health care issue will be solved with just a little more money? Forcing lower and middle class Americans to sacrifice more than they already have? Instead of looking for more handouts we should focus on becoming more productive. In your scenario people financially capable will receive free insurance. Not very cost effective, is it? McCain's plan is hoping that corporate health insurance providers are *MOTIVATED* to pay out for expensive incidents regardless of cost or ability of the individual to pay.  He's hoping that there is some market based equation in which that somehow happens.

Obama's plan limits options in the sense of providing this necessary equation outside of business interests. (I.e., removing options that don't work anyways.)

The heritage foundation hasn't gotten any better since I last checked in on you.

I do know this much - "national", "universal", whatever you choose to label it health care has been proven by other countries to be a DISASTER. Canada promised a "utopian" health care system and is now trying to dismantle it. Exactly John C. Goodname of the NCPA wrote an article, Why the United States Does not Need Universal Healthcare. It is in the book Health Care: Opposing Viewpoints. He systematically debunks myths about universal healthcare and explains that nobody could make it work (at least well or as it was intended). The only solution European countries had to solve their healthcare crisis was turn to the private sector! In particular they looked to the American private sector for help!

I work for the DCMA in information services, it's a federal contracting defense organization. The point is, McCain seems to think his terrible plan (note: even Carl Rove thinks he's stretching it with this one) is a good idea? Even Obama's health care program is better. McCain isn't proposing an end to welfare or S.S. People who can't afford healthcare will still feed off our taxes to get care through their states or the government, at least obama's lowers the premiums and ends that corruption

Honestly, the only thing that will help the Healthcare industry (HI) is a complete de-regulation of the HI. The government should not force insurance companies to provide services that aren't demanded.

If all I want is catostropic care, perscriptions, and basic doctors visits, that's all I should have to pay for. My plan shouldn't have to include accupuncture etc.

I can choose to have minimum coverage with Car insurance, why not with HI? Likewise, if I want full coverage I can choose that

I did notice though, that at the same time that people are claiming McCain will give them more "health care freedom," he and Palin are in favor of making sure that you don't have any freedom to do what you want with your own reproductive health. Repealing Roe vs. Wade is an anti-freedom measure. So, this video is truly 1984 doublespeak here.

Deregulation got us out of the mess Jimmy Carter made, it's the corrupt leaders in charge of unholy federal government/private sector alliances like Feddie Mac and Fannie Mae that helped get us here. It's the government getting involved in the housing industry. It's people like Barak Obama who with ACORN sued CitiBank to give loans to people who couldn't pay it back.
